Is anyone starting ivf in March/April?
Have had confirmation today I will be starting treatment in March. Been prescribed norethisterone, which I have to take CD21 of my next period (due next week).

Thank you so much @elsaesmeralda, that really does help! Will keep your tips in mind!

elsaesmeralda · 11/02/2021 11:32

Morning ladies 😊

Im good to start another fet on day 21 of my cycle (day1 today) had a chat with the doctor and this time they want me to down regulate and then this time have high dose estrogen and see if that gets my lining up. I asked about vitamin e he said nothing major proving it helps to thicken lining but taking it won't hurt so it's basically upto me.
Has anyone done down regulation before? Any advice on what to expect?

Hope everyone's okay

beachbum85 · 11/02/2021 13:13

Hi @elsaesmeralda, great news that you'll be starting soon :)
I'll be starting down regulation on 22 Feb, so I can't help with that, but a friend of mine did have a thin lining and found that Vitamin E really helped!

@elsaesmeralda glad to hear you're good to go with this cycle.

I have come on today and messaged the clinic as advised. They said a nurse will call me in the next few days to arrange for the HIV bloods for me and my husband, further consent forms and then drug demos.

Due on the 11th March now to start short protocol. I know I shouldn't but I've been watching you tube/reading up online because I am at risk on OHSS so trying not to get my hopes up as we may have to have a freeze all. At my scan I had 20 on my right ovary and 10 on my other and AMH was 36.5. Trying not to overthink it all.

I keep waking up in the night worrying that I've not took my medication... that I'm not even on yet BlushHmm haha

Hi Anyone with NHS?

Was supposed to start in January got cancelled due to covid due to call hospital on 22nd February to find out

Donimo · 13/02/2021 18:34

@Freya2015 I am paying privately but having treatment at an NHS linked Trust and my treatment was delayed from Jan too.. should now start down regulation injections next week. We were cancelled on the day we should of started (22nd Jan), after they took full payment Angry. It was delayed as apparently the anaesthetists were partly redeployed and thus had to reduce capacity.

What happened to you? Have you got dates booked in now for your current cycle? As on 22nd Jan when they cancelled me they booked all my scan dates and egg retrieval and transfer dates (as long as I respond as expected)

Freya2015 · 13/02/2021 18:56

@Donimo
I am with st heliers in sutton wbu ?

They havent booked me in they asked me to call back at the end of feb so i will ring them next Friday and lets see it was cancelled due to covid cases

TTCbabyH · 13/02/2021 19:18

@Freya2015 I'm NHS too but I think because my clinic isn't part of a hospital we've not had the delays luckily! Only thing for me has been they're limited how many patients they can have in at once so got to wait for your slot. (I was due to start a month earlier than what I am but was asked to wait an extra month)

Freya2015 · 13/02/2021 19:40

@TTCbabyH i really hope i can start been trying to get ivf since sep 2020

beachbum85 · 13/02/2021 22:56

@Freya2015 I'm NHS too... Bart's in London. So far the timelines have been as expected: they said 2-3 months from our mid-December appointment and I start down regulation next week. I did keep ringing and emailing to check that everything was on track, not sure if that made any difference at all. I hope you get some dates soon!

@6543336787gesgvjhg I totally get you... I woke up this morning panicking that the wrong meds were in the fridge and that we didn't have enough needles!! Hopefully things will get better once we start :)

Whatamuddleduck · 14/02/2021 07:19

Hello everyone! IT’s so good to have some IVFbuddies to chat with! Just looking at your messages so far has reminded me of how nerve wracking this is!
I’m working myself up to ringing the clinic to discuss a FET in April.
My little girl will be almost 3 then. We were massively lucky and got 4 embryos in our NHS IVF round and our gorgeous girl.
I’m massively anxious that I can’t hope to be as lucky this time but if you don’t try it won’t happen is what I’m telling myself.
I asked my daughter if she wanted a brother or sister the other day. Without pause she said ‘brother please’ and carried on playing. If only it were that easy.

elsaesmeralda · 14/02/2021 11:11

@6543336787gesgvjhg try not to worry! I had to set alarms on my phone for my medications but it becomes second nature!

If you do have to have a freeze all as frustrating as that would be it's not the end of the world, some clinics (mine being one of them) only offer freeze all as they believe it offers higher success rates - the theory is the woman's body has had time to calm down after all the hormones etc and also strong embryos freeze and thaw (apparently)
I was also at risk of ohss and I think I did mildly get it, but we got 17 eggs so it was a nice amount. The doctors will tweak your medications just right so hopefully you don't over respond.

I'm due to start down regulating the 3rd March, do that for two weeks then start ostregon again, so I've still got a whole 5 weeks to wait 😩

elsaesmeralda · 14/02/2021 11:12

@Whatamuddleduck hello!! Good luck with your FET ❤️

Hazza2021 · 14/02/2021 20:57

Hi I hope it’s okay for me to join this group!
I am starting Buserelin 21st February 2021 and egg collection is provisionally booked for 19th March 2021. I was lucky to have fallen pregnant first time with my little boy with IVF/ICSI but still feeling apprehensive with this one. I have PCOS with a really high AMH and also I had a cyst on my left ovary so my right one has to do all the work. How are you all feeling about it?

6543336787gesgvjhg · 14/02/2021 22:06

Hi @Hazza2021. Your egg collection is booked for my birthday 🥳

I am just feeling a bit in the dark about it all, I'm sure after a call from the nurse this week I will understand more about it all.

The doctor said to us about ICSI as well.

How are you feeling?

Donimo · 14/02/2021 22:29

Hi @Hazza2021 nice to hear from you. You are on a similar protocol to me, due to start bureselin injections on 20th Feb, then egg retrieval provisionally booked for 22nd March. Also @beachbum85 and @TTCbabyH are cycle buds with us! Less than a week to go till starting everyone Shock. How are you all feeling?

@Hazza2021We are also have ICSI but I have the opposite to you and have low AMH. I have an almost 2 year old daughter. How olds your son?

beachbum85 · 14/02/2021 22:40

Yeah another cycle buddy! Welcome @Hazza2021 :)
I'm pretty excited, but it doesn't feel real yet... What about you @Donimo?

Hi and welcome @Whatamuddleduck! Here's hoping your IVF lucky streak continues :)

Hazza2021 · 15/02/2021 10:08

It’s nice to see people doing it the same time as me just to have someone to chat to when you are going through it. I had a friend who was going through IVF the same time as me when I did the 1st round, it really did help with the worries that come with it. I’m feeling excited but also scared at the same time. I had so many ups and down with my 1st one and they were so close to cancelling my round as I wasn’t progressing. So pleased they didn’t as I got my little boy with my one and only round. So I feel very lucky! My little boy is almost 14 months but I am nearly 39 so I need to get a move on if I want a sibling for him Smile

Hazza2021 · 15/02/2021 10:10

How many of you is this their 1st round?

TTCbabyH · 15/02/2021 11:13

@Hazza2021 hi hazza! This is my first round and we have the same provisional egg collection - 19th March! Fingers crossed it's a good day for us x

Hazza2021 · 15/02/2021 11:24

That’s exciting! I really hope we all get some fantastic news on this thread. My birthday is 25th March which could mean I will be transferring on our around my birthday Smile. Do you have to isolate I have to do a swab on 8th and 13th March.

TTCbabyH · 15/02/2021 11:38

@Hazza2021 yes so I have a covid swab 7th March and 13th March and full household has to self isolate from 13th March until final clinic visit is what we've been advised!

Fingers crossed your birthday gives you extra luck 🤞🏻 I think my transfer should be around the same time but I'm high chance of OHSS so I'm expecting it to be a freeze all cycle in the end!

NHSivfhopeful · 15/02/2021 11:55

Hi All,

I think I am joining the IVF March/April cycle, I have just had a call with the clinic to say I need to call them on the first day of my next period and a letter with all the details will come through the post shortly. Not really sure what this means as it is all really confusing! I am hopeful this means we are starting on the IVF journey :).

beachbum85 · 15/02/2021 12:00

It's my first round @Hazza2021, and really encouraging to hear that you got your little boy on your first round even if it was a rocky ride there! I hope you'll be successful immediately again :)

Our swabs are on the 5th and 11th March, so we'll be self-isolating around the same time. I already had COVID last March but my partner didn't, so I'm really hoping he doesn't get it now! We both work from home, luckily, so quite doable.

Hazza2021 · 15/02/2021 12:11

@TTCbabyH At least if we are all isolating we will have each other to keep us from going crazy. Although I’m sure my little boy will keep from going mad. I also have to isolate from 13th till transfer. I have pcos so I’m the same but I didn’t ohss last time, they started me low and I gradually increased my meds but who knows if it will be the same this time.

@beachbum85 I started with 13 eggs with only 5 making it to 5 days but they gradually dropped off and by day 5 I had one left which ended up being my little boy. He was graded at a 3ab so wasn’t top graded either. He’s my little miracle!

Is anyone doing anything to improve egg quality? I didn’t on my last round but I’m trying to this time round, we will see if it makes any difference. I may have left it to late!
