Is it too soon?

Hi Is anyone starting IVF in January/February next year?

We had our first failed IVF cycle in October and looking to go for our second cycle but the way my periods are it falls over xmas when they are shut.

So we are starting in Jan :)

Evening all, I am confirmed on for my FET in Feb, with 2 embryos, probably around 17th. Doing a natural cycle so no drugs involved this time, hoping my body prefers it that way...

Lola98 · 29/01/2021 20:37

@hopefully21 thank you so much for that info. I don’t realise that this was available. It certainly sounds worth a try. I will ask at my meeting with the consultant about it. Thanks again! Good luck for tomorrow 🤞

hopefully21 · 29/01/2021 20:41

@Lola98 no worries at all. Thanks!

Remember it’s the Chiswick Branch. Ask for the guy (completely forgotten his name) who works Tuesday evening. He’s the fertility specialist. X

@Hopeforsuccess thank you so much for the info on your journey so far. Same as me.... low AMH and they said realistically expect 6 eggs. That’s so exciting and amazing that you got two blasts- were those blasts from 1 single cycle? Your first cycle?

RichmondLady1981 · 29/01/2021 21:10

@MF1981 hello 👋🏼. I would absolutely LOVE it if you could share your story. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

PT8998 · 29/01/2021 21:16

@Lola98 I’m sorry ☹️

RichmondLady1981 · 29/01/2021 21:20

@Motherofkittens28 that’s really kind of you- thank you! Yes pls. X

RichmondLady1981 · 29/01/2021 21:22

@Lola98 sending you hugs. Chocolate, movies and wine this weekend. X

Hi Ladies I’m currently doing the menopur 600ui of 225ml do you know how many uses I can get out of this?

Lola98 · 29/01/2021 21:29

@PT8998 @RichmondLady1981 thank you 💕

PT8998 · 29/01/2021 21:40

Ladies, I have a question regarding a freeze all round... I’m hopeful someone may be able to help? I am awaiting my withdrawal bleed (not taken anything since trigger) and I wasn’t sure at which point do you call a clinic if your bleed doesn’t arrive? I am 11 days post egg collection, so not yet anything to worry about but going on my historical bleeds... they’re non-existent. I am hopeful there will be something after the IVF round, but don’t hold out much hope! Does anyone have any guidance as to when I should call them? 14 days? 21 days?

Thanks!

Hopeforsuccess · 29/01/2021 21:41

@RichmondLady1981 thank you so so much for the referral! I am not sure that acupuncture does much but i will
Give it a fo again. Yes regarding the embryos they were both from one cycle. I just had one but due to covid all got delayed and had my first FET in September. I am having the second FET in a few weeks! What about you? Is this your first cycle/attempt?

indub · 30/01/2021 01:55

@thetallgirl @unknownscot
Re embryoscope: Yes, I am given pictures and small videos on D1, D3, D5 of my eggies on my providers' web portal. Sorry, I (foolishly) assumed all embryoscopes would offer that to their clients. Frankly I can't tell much of what I'm looking at if that's a consolation.

I'm with a private company not in UK that makes and sells a particular embryoscope + incubator that they sell internationally so I'm guessing this is also in their marketing interests.

indub · 30/01/2021 01:57

@Lola98 Sorry for you, Lola. Hope you have time to cry, rest and look after yourself. It's rough Sad

indub · 30/01/2021 01:59
@kikisparks nope, my one and only Fallopian tube is knackered. We had 2 ectopics in the space of 10 months so went for ivf. I’m hoping and praying 🤞🏻
We're praying for you too! Hopefully they'll be awesome quality. Daffodil

Lola98 · 30/01/2021 08:07

@indub thank you 💕

RichmondLady1981 · 30/01/2021 08:09

@Hopeforsuccess thanks for all the info. It took me a while to start to relax in acupuncture as it wasn’t really my thing, but in my fourth visit I started to surrender to it, and began to chill out. I actually fell asleep and woke myself up snoring! Haha! Very glam.

Yes this is my first ever cycle. Fell pregnant naturally first try on honeymoon in august 2019 at 37. My son is now 20 months. I fell pregnant naturally after stopping breastfeeding second month of trying but then found out mmc at 12 week scan. Was rough and had to have an op for that. Since then I’ve had no luck and low AMH of 2.5 and am 39 so going to try my best this way. On short protocol- know nothing about all the meds. Am half way through the norethisterone and have my baseline scan in around 10days. Then start Stims. Approx egg collection 25th Feb. Just trying to be realistic with age, AMH and quite low follicle count.

MF1981 · 30/01/2021 08:15

@RichmondLady1981 not sure how relevant I’ll be as although we’re the same age I have quite high afc and amh. I got 26 follicles from stims, 22 eggs collected, 11 mature, 9 fertilised and 4 blasts at day 5 that went in the freezer because I had ohss after EC. I haven’t had them tested so don’t know if any are normal but I currently have 2 on board. Hope that helps.

foodiefil · 30/01/2021 08:32

Hi everyone,

Started stims on Wednesday. We are really struggling with the menopur. Filling the needle and making sure we get the 1ml. This is adding to the stress of the situation.

Please tell me we aren't the only ones? I'm in tears every morning.

Xx

Sunbird24 · 30/01/2021 08:42

@foodiefil don’t worry, this is totally normal and it’s accounted for. You’re still getting what you need for it to do its job, I promise.
I did have the same difficulty and it had no impact on my egg collection in the end.

Bells3032 · 30/01/2021 08:46

@foodefil I don't use it but my husband does.

Firstly make sure you are using the right needle to draw up with the right needle. We use a green needle but not sure what colours you've been given. But either way you should have two needles. A longer one with an angled needle should be used to draw up and then change to the other one.

When you have soaked up most of it put the vial at 75 degrees so the liquid all pools at the bottom corner. Then reinsert the needle at an angle.

Mostly keep calm. If you're getting worked up put it down and go get a drink and a breathe before trying again

foodiefil · 30/01/2021 08:56

@Sunbird24 @Bells3032
Thank you both.

Yes @Bells3032 ours is a pink needle. We've twice now managed to lose all the liquid and had to start again.

Thanks Sun. that's reassuring.

Managed this morning after much frustration. Will try again tomorrow and hopefully it's easier.

Give me buserelin any day! (Still do that of course but I'm sure you know what I mean!)

Bells3032 · 30/01/2021 09:02

@foodiefil it is really hard. I remember him struggling with it when he started his gonasi (a similar make up) two years ago. I tried once and couldn't do it!! So please don't stress yourself

Sunbird24 · 30/01/2021 09:12

Good point Bells makes about the needle tip and the angling. I also found getting a little air in the syringe with the liquid before inserting it into the powder helped with the fight against the vacuum effect when it came to drawing it up.

It is frustrating because it’s so important to us, but you’re doing fine!
