IVF Dec 2020-Jan 2021-anyone joining me?

Hi,
After 2 years TTC #1 we are now eventually on the IVF bus! Should have started in June but Covid put a stop to that and after lots of back/forth with our NHS clinic we've got our treatment planning appointment on Friday and will be on the long protocol so probably starting mid- end of December!
Would love to have some ladies join me!
I've been creeping on other IVF threads but haven't been able to fully take part.

@kiza and @MF1981 thank you so much, I think I'll toss a coin for it tomorrow night!

onlyhereforthefood · 15/02/2021 15:02

Transfer done, OH was allowed in with me, which he thought meant in to the clinic, but oh no, the nurses dragged him in to watch the procedure - I don't hold out much hope for him at the birth if we get that far 😂

Everyone seemed really positive, the embryo survived the thaw well and was mostly hatched too. Graded AA.

Just keeping everything crossed now. Have been given 26/2 as OTD, and also 28/2 if that one is negative just in case it was a slow implanter.

Never been so nervous in my life!

Kiza · 15/02/2021 15:04

@onlyhereforthefood great news! You're now PUPO! Trying to stay occupied during the TWW is the worst

MF1981 · 15/02/2021 17:26

Yay @onlyhereforthefood

onlyhereforthefood · 15/02/2021 19:39

This thread is so supportive, thank you so much ladies

Kiza · 15/02/2021 20:45

@onlyhereforthefood sore boobs, nausea kicking in around 6pm, dizzy when standing, hot flushes but literally loving all these symptoms. I've prayed for them for years so expressing gratitude with every symptom that passes and not taking any of it for granted 🙏🏼
How are you feeling?

OP posts:
MF1981 · 16/02/2021 07:12

@Kiza I’m also getting evening sickness rather than morning sickness! Also I’m so tired! No sore boobs but still getting some period type cramping.

elsaesmeralda · 16/02/2021 07:39

Well done @onlyhereforthefood will keep you in mind the next week or so.
Hope everyone is doing okay 👍🏻

onlyhereforthefood · 16/02/2021 08:55

@Kiza I literally can't wait to (hopefully) start feeling symptoms.

I'm ok, doing my best to stay away from google, especially as I have been sneezing a lot and I've convinced myself I'll sneeze out the embryo 😂

Lindyloolou · 21/02/2021 17:50

Wow a lot has happened in just a few weeks on here. Sorry to all those who haven’t been successful this time around. It’s such a cruel process - everyone going through this is so incredibly strong.

Congratulations to all those with BFP - shows there’s hope for all regardless.

My symptoms came full swing come week 8. I had a private scan week 10 and our one little frostie (the only survivor from our round) was waving away at us. Week 11 now and nausea is full-blown (thought it was supposed to get better by now). 12 week scan next Monday. I have steroids to wean off for over active immune system plus blood thinners stop in a week, so don’t feel I’m out of the woods yet having had multiple MCs but it’s the furthest we have been so fingers crossed.

Giving you all a big virtual hug. Good luck on your journeys xxx

Kiza · 21/02/2021 19:13

@Lindyloolou lovely to hear from you again and that you're so far along, scans must be so reassuring, I'm counting down the days until my first one next week. Symptoms have been quite mild and sometimes worry thoughts creep in but trying to push them away and understand that different women experience different symptoms.

OP posts:
Lindyloolou · 21/02/2021 19:24

Everyone is different - don’t worry too much (I know it’s easier said than done). I worried so much about lack of symptoms but it wasn’t until late on into week 8 that nausea kicked in. Wasn’t that bad either. In fact, died down a bit - so much so I was expecting bad news at private reassurance scan at 9 weeks. Now week 11 and these past couple of days have been tough on the feeling sick front BUT also counting my blessings at the same time. Anxious about coming off the meds - trying to take each day as it comes. Xx

RichmondLady1981 · 21/02/2021 20:34

@Lindyloolou that’s soooo lovely to hear. Congratulations. Isn’t it amazing that your collected egg that went through all those processes made it through and was waving at the scan. Thank you for posting - so reassuring and gives us hope.

Pls May I ask, how long after having the egg collection were you able to go to transfer? Is it usually quite a long process. Did you have any ERA testing ? Did they give you any information on the blast’s implantation rate? Sorry for all the questions. New to this- trigger shot tomorrow. 😬. We are also doing genetic testing due to a Mc last summer. X x

@Kiza all the best for your scan next week. X x

Lindyloolou · 21/02/2021 20:53

I did a freeze all so I could do PGS testing following recurrent multiple MCs via natural conception previously - privately done it took 4-5 weeks for the results. My transfer was therefore 2 periods after EC. We had male quality issues. The results from PGS - 4 out of 5 weren’t right. They all had different chromosome issues so they don’t think there’s a specific gene issue. I’m wondering if egg quality is therefore also an issue for me as OH had direct sperm retrieval - some of which was tested and it ended up top quality via this way. They say it could be a totally different story in another round - very common to be ‘one of those things’/‘bad luck’. Who knows.

Taking my history into consideration I was given a 45% chance of IVF working and survival rate of a pgs tested embryo after implantation I was told 70%. I don’t get too hung up on averages and numbers to be honest - everyone is different and anything can happen. I’ve had the worst pick and the best luck on this journey - beating negative and positive odds. My advice would be just take each day - you’re doing your best and that’s all you can do. Good luck tomorrow xxx

@Kiza good luck with your scan 🥰

onlyhereforthefood · 23/02/2021 19:20

@Lindyloolou fingers crossed your little frostie continues to thrive!

three days until my OTD and I'm really, REALLY struggling with waiting!

RichmondLady1981 · 23/02/2021 20:11

@onlyhereforthefood exciting and nerve wracking in equal measures I expect? Any symptoms? I guess it’s difficult to say with all the meds. Temped to test early?

I’m way behind you ladies. I’m on the FEb/March thread. My first IVF cycle and EC tomorrow. Getting nervous! 😬

onlyhereforthefood · 23/02/2021 20:21

@RichmondLady1981 a few symptoms but I think it's mostly the meds, very tempted to test early, but also far too scared!

Good luck for your EC tomorrow, fingers crossed for good results, I'll pop over to the other thread to see how you get on!

RichmondLady1981 · 23/02/2021 21:17

Thank you! Everything crossed for your test (whenever you divide to do it 😉). X

Kiza · 24/02/2021 07:16

@RichmondLady1981 wishing you all the best for EC today, take it easy and rest and enjoy the sedation!

@onlyhereforthefood you're so good not to be tempted to test early. We tested 2 days before OTD as just couldn't wait any longer!

OP posts:
onlyhereforthefood · 24/02/2021 18:59

@Kiza did you have symptoms? I have awful nausea these last two days which I am putting down to the medications but I've been on that over a week now so I guess just a build up? It's so hard to tell, I don't want to get my hopes up too much!

Kiza · 24/02/2021 19:17

@onlyhereforthefood didn't really have any symptoms when I tested other than slight cramps/twinges.
Even now I just get mild sore boobs, mild nausea but some days I get full on bloating. I'm still taking cyclogest so never how much is that

RichmondLady1981 · 24/02/2021 21:16

Hi ladies. EC all over. What an exhausting day. Clinic were amazing and so professional.

A little disheartened today. Out of the 5 expected, we got three eggs collected. Praying to god that they all fertilise by tomorrow. 🙏🏼

Thanks for your well wishes ladies.

@onlyhereforthefood hang in there. Not long to go now. X

MF1981 · 24/02/2021 22:32

Fingers crossed for you @RichmondLady1981

onlyhereforthefood · 25/02/2021 06:00
