IVF Dec 2020-Jan 2021-anyone joining me?

Hi,
After 2 years TTC #1 we are now eventually on the IVF bus! Should have started in June but Covid put a stop to that and after lots of back/forth with our NHS clinic we've got our treatment planning appointment on Friday and will be on the long protocol so probably starting mid- end of December!
Would love to have some ladies join me!
I've been creeping on other IVF threads but haven't been able to fully take part.

Fingers crossed for you @elsaesmeralda

elsaesmeralda · 05/02/2021 17:58

Well it has been officially cancelled, had the call earlier. I'm upset and frustrated but what can you do. Going to try and focus on starting again after speaking with the consultant.
Good luck everyone

MF1981 · 05/02/2021 19:30

@elsaesmeralda I’m so sorry this has happened to you. Definitely hold the clinic to account for it. Look after yourself x

indub · 05/02/2021 20:44

I've got wonderful news this morning with a positive pregnancy test at 7dp5dt Grin. I had a very slight positive 3 days ago when I was just checking on the trigger but this is quite a bit darker. OTD isn't for 4 days. Long way to go still but I'm going to enjoy the weekend drinking nonalcoholic champagne. Wine

indub · 05/02/2021 20:46

@elsaesmeralda Hey that's really hard. Look after yourself. I hope the next round has a nice juicy thick lining your embryo cannot resist Flowers

MF1981 · 05/02/2021 21:59

That’s great @indub!!!

indub · 05/02/2021 22:33

Thanks @MF1981!

Kiza · 06/02/2021 09:34

@elsaesmeralda I'm so sorry that's so upsetting and frustrating for you. When do you speak to the consultant?

Congrats @indub 7dp5dt is super early!

BFN on my test this morning as expected. Will do another one Monday morning to be sure then ring the clinic - I hope they have some kind of insight as to how I'm managing to have a heavy period while on crinone progesterone gel Confused then I guess see if they're letting people in on new treatments so I can line up my frozen day7 blatocyst.

elsaesmeralda · 06/02/2021 13:18

Sorry about that @starkid this process is hard xx

MF1981 · 06/02/2021 14:09

So sorry @starkid - you definitely need some answers as to how that’s happened.

RichmondLady1981 · 07/02/2021 13:31

@Kiza I’ve just read the whole of this thread and I have to say it’s been so amazing to read your story! I have my baseline scan this Wednesday and start stims Thursday. I’m over on the Feb/March thread but like reading through threads so I can follow people’s experiences and know what to expect. Your story really stuck out for me as I have quite a low AF count. I’m 39 years old with AMH of 2.5. Fell quite quickly from 7 last summer. They only found 6 follicles in total during my initial pelvic exam. Can I ask what kind of supplements/lifestyle recommendations you’d make? Special diet? Thinking that I need to do all I can to encourage high quality eggs. You truly have proven that it’s quality over quantity every time!

Thanks so much in advance- your story has given me so much hope. And congratulations again! Everything crossed for you scan.

RichmondLady1981 · 07/02/2021 13:33

@Kiza ps do you drink coffee?

Kiza · 07/02/2021 14:30

@RichmondLady1981 we are still in shock by it all to be honest! For the last year I've been taking royal jelly, ubiquinol, PQQ, pregnacare conception, coq10 (only 200mg due to taking Ubiquinol). It's super expensive and I'll never know if they helped or not but I'd been taking them whilst TTC so thought I'd carry on for IVF.
I also drink decaf coffee and don't drink alcohol, eat super healthy and regularly lift weights.

I tried accupuncture, hypnotherapy and fertility womb massage whilst TTC but due to lockdown and finances didn't carry on doing them for IVF so just tried to meditate at home.
Are you on long or short protocol?

OP posts:
RichmondLady1981 · 07/02/2021 14:43

@Kiza thank you so much.

I’m taking the usual prenatal, Co a 10. NED, and fish oils. Been doing some acupuncture but not that regular due to lockdown. I run 8-10ks 4-5 times per week but no weights since lockdown.
What’s ubiquinol and PQQ?

I’m doing short protocol. Evening meds Ovaleap then Menopur. Then later adding fyremadel. Egg collection estimated 24th Feb. X

Did you take time off from work? Have never been into meditation but trying to get into relaxation more by using apps at home. When did you have to stop exercising? Dreading not being able to run- it’s my therapy.

Gensola · 07/02/2021 15:46

Day 3p5dt here and feel like I’ve been waiting three years 😂 trying to keep busy but it’s all I think about.

Kiza · 07/02/2021 15:48

@RichmondLady1981 PQQ is used to help strengthen eggs but it has to be taken a good few months before hand.
Your running sounds great and the accupuncture, anything you can do to lower stress as I have a really stressful job. I took time off from EC for about a week and half and just chilled out. Some people want to keep busy but my job is too stressful so wanted some proper time off, also I struggled to walk for a couple of days after EC as he was really poking around to try and find another egg.
They advise stop exercising 2 days into stims as your ovaries are growing and you could be at risk of ovarian torsion so I just listened to my body and did fast walks/slow walks. Also nearing egg collection my partner did most of the housework and food shopping to reduce risk of ovarian torsion also.

@Kiza great idea to lower the stress and take time off. I’m a deputy head at quite a fast paced private school and teach a few lessons a week. I’m able to go in for scans early enough to be able to ‘get away with it’ but think I’ll just call a sickie for my egg collection. My son is at nursery so working from home doesn’t seem too daunting. The day after egg collection day is quite an easy one. It would of course be a different story if we were in school.

Loving the idea of getting my husband ready to be ‘on duty’ with the chores. I’m guessing that bathing and picking my son up from his cot will be a no no? He’s only 20 months but he weighs 17kgs.

Thank you for providing us with all this invaluable info and for giving ladies like me hope 🤞.

Will be checking in to see how you’re going.

onlyhereforthefood · 07/02/2021 20:09

@starkid sending lots of hugs

I've got a scan tomorrow so see how my womb lining is progressing. No one ever really explained this part of the cycle to me, so I have no idea what to expect in terms of time frames, if it's where it should be as to when transfer might happen.

RichmondLady1981 · 07/02/2021 21:23

@onlyhereforthefood good luck. Let us know how it goes.

onlyhereforthefood · 08/02/2021 18:31

@RichmondLady1981 thank you x

Scan went well, lining is 11mm and triple layer. Transfer is booked for midday next Monday. I keep swinging between excitement and horrendous anxiety! OH is like an excited child!

RichmondLady1981 · 09/02/2021 07:47

@onlyhereforthefood that’s great news - super exciting!!

Kiza · 09/02/2021 17:46

@onlyhereforthefood that's really positive news and reassuring for you too

MF1981 · 09/02/2021 18:36

Guys I’m freaking out. It’s test day tomorrow and I’m actually terrified of taking the test. My cat is poorly as well and that along with test day tomorrow is making me feel so anxious. I’m feeling really sick and am sure I have some cramps too.

onlyhereforthefood · 09/02/2021 18:43

Aw @MF1981, I have no wise words for you, but know I shall be thinking of you tomorrow.
Pet's are such a worry too, I hope your cat is feeling better soon xx
