Hi everyone -i was excited to see this thread going when I looked back on mumsnet for the first time in a while! So pleased to hear lovely happy news for some of you! Congrats!

My son is one next week -can’t believe it! Thoughts of starting to “try” for another have come into my head. Would love a bit more of a break from all things fertility but also conscious of my endo getting worse and getting older so feel we need to get started and then focus on a transfer around Christmas time. I start a new job in September so it wouldn’t be an ideal time to get pregnant but I know I can’t put my life on hold -considering it’s very likely to take a while.

@AliciaWhiskers your campervan adventures sound fab -wishing you a fab summer in it.

Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely sunny weather!

@mouse1234567 yay! So good to hear from you and to hear about your son as well. I can't quite believe how far we've come; you were one of the first people I spoke to on here. I know what you mean about thoughts of a second although I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have another one. I don't think I could cope with two on my own and my mum just said this evening she doesn't think she could cope with two! I've got a job I love and I've sort of managed to get my life into a place I'm really happy with so I think that's enough for me...

@Mrbay that is so exciting. You've been in my thoughts a lot. How are you feeling? Do you know what you're having?

@Welshpugmomma how are you doing??

@KittyKatSmile that’s so great you feel in a good place. Yes I can totally see how two children on your own would be so much work. Well done -you are doing an amazing job with one. It must be very full on. I remember in the newborn days I would think to myself how much admiration I had for solo parents.

Great you love your job-are you back full time? I’m going to be starting a part time 2 and half days a week job from September . Quite nervous about starting but hopefully he will enjoy nursery and I will enjoy my time out working.

Hey guys :) hope you are all well !

@zest11 so looking forward to our week away , hope you guys have been enjoying the beautiful weather
@KittyKatSmile totally agree with Mouse there about kudos to single parenting , 3xmonth solo for me is more than enough ;) hubs only just got out of isolation today so don't want to think too much about the next trip away, but thoroughly enjoying his help with Josiah and the house. Bet little one has so so much love for you ;)
@mouse1234567 hey welcome back so lovely to hear from you! Glad you're doing well, and hey can't speak for everyone but you may get surprised on getting pregnant quickly 2nd time aroundWinkMuch planned for LOs birthday?

@Mrbay glad to hear all was good at scan:) I had my 20 week on Friday, having a private one tomorrow so they can write down for our party on the weekend, fully intend on making the most of the relaxing of rules, can't wait to get everyone together:) I completely know what you mean about it not sinking in!

I feel bad that this time around it will be so different - no nursery to organise, less things to buy ! Plan on keeping baby In with us until about 6 months and then the idea is to move them both into our bigger 2nd room until they are much older - not sure how that will work out but figure we could definitely do with having our box room for storage instead of losing it all together 🤭

@mrbay that is incredible - the weeks are just ticking by! Congratulations with the puppies too. It sounds like you are very busy! So very happy for you!

@mouse1234567 hiiii and welcome back! I know, our babies birthdays have come round so quickly haven't they! Ahh good luck with your new job...there is never a "right time" is there and you just have to put yourself and your family first!

@KittyKatSmile I can understand about it being difficult with 2 on your own. We found it extremely difficult with just 1 and so are undecided on a number 2.

@welshpugmomma yess the weather is great and next week is meant to be really good too so you have chosen a good week to come to the coast. I think you are wise with your bedroom ideas...having a separate room to store all of the toys etc will be helpful!

Things are good here, I'm absolutely loving this phase with the baby. He's so so cuddly and loving and it's great seeing how he understands things. He is happy crawling around and exploring Smile. Sounds very sloppy but I love spending most of my time with him!

Zest11 · 10/06/2021 20:30

Sloppy...I meant soppy!

Mrbay · 11/06/2021 15:10

hey all!

oh exciting @mouse1234567! I know endo is a total bitch! Hope you aren't suffering too much.

@KittyKatSmile - nope, keeping it a surprise until delivery day! However, I am on the fence about finding out and have turned to looking at nub and skull theory - lol!

@Welshpugmomma - oh would they not tell you the sex? I am worried that they'll slip up and tell us.
I think I've pretty much got 90% of everything I'll need, I can tell you are not missing out!

@zest11 - they are so cute! total time wasters, but DH and midwife total me off for doing the night time checks.

Welshpugmomma · 17/06/2021 20:46

@mrbay Always tell them at the beginning of every scan you ever have you don't want to find out! we did the same with J and I was always worried they would let slip! Thankfully they didn't and we had our nice surprise on delivery day. NHS will tell you, but they won't write it down and we wanted to find out the same time as our party guests :)

It was a girl!!!! SO so happy, we were both very shocked as I'm pretty sure we had convinved ourselves it was going to be another boy :)

So nice to have a family gathering too!!

We are down south for the week staying in a caravan, nice and chill and been lucky with weather so far !

How are you all? Little ones all doing ok? I swear every day he's getting busier and busier I can't keep up!
