If I ever have a child, I am not doing the baby singing class - i cannot sing to save my life! Swimming sounds good tho, we have a local hydro pool which does classes, so that would be high on my list.

I don't even have a baby to keep me from sleeping but I am so tired all the time! I am thinking it may be related to my cycle and stupid fibroid, which I swear is making me aware of it's presence daily.

I am over covid now, I am getting annoyed that so much is still being put on hold - you can have a hair cut (hours in close proximity of another human) but you cannot have a 10 min face to face with a doc - I feel the GP is more critical than highlights!
Some areas are pretty much back to normal and little to no SD but no massive rise in cases, this virus is a tricky thing and doesn't appear to stick to rules or logical thinking. But enough of me ranting about covid!!

In other nice news, I had massive cuddles with two lab puppies yesterday (not mine) - I just love the baby breath smell.

Oh, do you babies still have that wonderful baby smell??

KittyKatSmile · 11/09/2020 18:32

@Mrbay yeah covid is a bitch for sure. And what's all this 'new rules from Monday' shit? As I read somewhere, why from Monday, is covid going on a city break for the weekend?!

My baby doesn't have a new baby smell. She has a smell but it's usually of shit these days 😁 Just kidding really. She smells wonderful although I went out for a meeting this afternoon and as soon as I came back I said to my mum 'have you checked her nappy? She's dirty'!! What have I become?!

Yay I’ve found you all again! How are all those little babies doing? Maybe they aren’t so little any more?!

We are trying again with our FET cycle. I have no idea when I last updated but we were due to have the cycle in March and bottled it on the day of transfer as everything was locking down due to Covid and we literally asked for the embryo to not be taken out of the freezer just before they were just to thaw it.

So I’m now sniffing away on the buserelin (did it give anyone else night sweats? I keep panicking that I’ve got Covid I keep waking up so hot!) and transfer will be in about 2 weeks.

What’s the news from you guys?!

Zest11 · 16/09/2020 19:22

@Cauliflower82 that is reassuring that Pip only sleeps on you...in fact, I think it's very common and normal. The HV was saying that babies sleep where they feel safe so we should take it as a compliment! Saying that my husband and I have been working on getting him to nap in his crib the past few days and we have had some successes. I did actually manage my first 'sleep whilst the baby sleeps' a couple of days ago! How have your classes been? Better or still a bit corny?

@Mrbay hope you are feeling okay in the lead up to your operation!

@AliciaWhiskers yayy welcome back! Glad to hear you're gearing up to transfer that embryo. Hope you are doing okay on the dreaded buserelin. Have you had many scans so far? Are they okay?

Sooo, I did a mums buggy fitness class this week. Found out I have a "big" ab gap/ diasasis recti which is not ideal at all and bubs cried for 2/3rds of the class! Not good. Hopefully the sensory class and baby massage will be more his thing! Would anyone care to share their real experiences of the 3/4month sleep regression? Baby J is okayish with sleeping. Sometimes he just does 6hour blocks and last night he did 10 (but we put his dummy back in his mouth a few times) however I think we have the regression approaching soon...

KittyKatSmile · 22/09/2020 13:45

How have I missed these updates?!

@AliciaWhiskers welcome back! So delighted to see you again and to hear your update. I seem to remember being a hot mess all the time on buserelin, yes.

@Zest11 boo for the diastis recti and the crying. I go to Pushy Mums (!) every week and N cried for most of it yesterday, stopping only when I cuddled here, at which point she beamed and looked smug!

We had terrible sleep regression around 4 months but it did sort itself out which was then amazing! And now I've just had 2 nights of an hour of screaming so goodness knows what we're doing now. I keep telling myself that everything is a phase but I don't like it when the good things are a phase as well!!

Hey girls!

Welcome back @AliciaWhiskers - how are you getting on?

I've had my surgery, Thursday was no a good day! Got given 3 options regarding how to have the surgery, epidural, epidural and sedation or general - threw me as I thought I was having a general!
Opted for epidural and sedation, wasn't sure I'd be very good without the sedation - I would have annoyed them with chatter by the end of the hour!
Epidural should last for 6 hrs - nope mine started to wear off 30 mins or so after the op! Queue a whole world of pain, lots of drugs and hours in recovery as I couldn't get pain & blood pressure to stabilise - lots of tears and vomiting - I was a mess!
Friday, I was a different person - only paracetamol and ibuprofen needed!

Due to the location of the fibroid, should I get pregnant, I'll have to have a c section. I'm pretty peed about this as I wanted to go through a normal labour, have some sort of surprise should I manage to get pregnant.

How is everyone?

AliciaWhiskers · 27/09/2020 21:56

Hi all.

Glad your op went well @Mrbay. Have you got to wait now before TTC again?

Loving the sound of these fitness classes! Fingers crossed I’ll get the chance to give them a try next year!

All going ok here. I finished my buserelin spray on Friday (yay!) and am set for FET on Thursday. We aren’t getting too hopeful about it just in case of lockdown/self isolating/cancellation/embryo not thawing etc. It feels like there is still a lot that can go wrong. Especially as our clinic is in Cardiff, so there are new restrictions there now and DP can’t come to the transfer with me. I know that’s for a good reason but it will be weird to be there by myself!

KittyKatSmile · 27/09/2020 23:19

@Mrbay you are a bloody trooper lady. Wonderful. Hope you're feeling good (c section news notwithstanding). I'd imagine once you get to that point you might be so bloody excited to meet that little one that you'll mind less about how you do so. And you're not missing much 😬

@AliciaWhiskers everything crossed for you for Thursday. What bloody crazy times these are. I can't believe all the restrictions around fertility and maternity care actually. Very upsetting.

Hope everyone's doing ok. I went to my first baby sensory class this week after being the world's biggest cynic. We both loved it (probably me more than Nancy actually). @Cauliflower82 do you know Say Hello to the Sun? Look it up and imagine your old mucker Keith singing along to it. I added a new verse called Say Hello to the Wine. Imagine it won't be long before we're thrown out for misbehaving x

Welshpugmomma · 28/09/2020 07:32

@mrbay glad it went well sucks about the trauma of the sedation though I remember feeling like that after egg collection ! It may seem Like big news now about the c section but I imagine should you find yourself pregnant (fx) that it will be the last of your worries, I find myself sometimes thinking miraculously if I did get pregnant again would I be able to manage a natural now 🤔 so I know this 'fomo' is legit real lol.

@AliciaWhiskers great news you have your fet in n line a few of my friends have had to go to neath as cardiff had cancelled appts etc, is it nhs? Everything crossed for you all goes as planned:) such a relief when all those Stims are over !

@KittyKatSmile I got visions of you singing your heart out now :) my class was ok very small only like 5 mum's and babas its ok a bit cheesy and not getting the socializing that I wanted tbh Theyve just set up a group now though so we can organise walks etc so that's something!

Swimming got canceled which was a shame, otherwise there's so little going on.

Exciting mum times- managed to borrow a new carrier from the nct group so went out for a 5k walk yest (ergobaby360) it was a success I think. Better fit than my first one - J seemed pretty chill in there, so good to have the hands with the dog too:)

@Zest11 hope your Classes have been well, I was paranoid about DR soon after I heard its so popular with c section, I'm sure you've seen but there's lots of exercises that can strengthen it and bring the gap together and there's also plenty that can make it worse to so just be careful I guess, also it's honestly taken me so long to feel *strong again (not very but just pre pregnancy)

@Cauliflower82 whatever works for you hun I bet you are smashing it with such little support! J still waking up in the night he seems to feed more than ever right now, I've got him on two meals in the day and he literally wolf's whatever it is down. He shouts at anyone who eats around him ( I think he's learning to be naughty already ! Haha)

Zest11 · 30/09/2020 21:41

@AliciaWhiskers Good Luck tomorrow! I hope all goes well. Do keep us updated if you are able to!

@mrbay Don't worry about that. My SiL had a vag birth and opted for a C-section 2nd time around and says the c section was much better!

@Welshpugmomma Pleased you are enjoying the ergobaby. Has Josiah been outward facing lots? We have hired ours from a sling library and intend to continue for a couple of months rather than buy our own. As you are in a local lockdown have all of the baby groups and things been cancelled? Has everything closed again...gyms, shops etc? Lockdowns suck massively! Thankfully the DR isn't so bad...got the doc to check and she said less than 2 fingers and I've been doing Pilates which seems to have helped!

@KittyKatSmile Hahahaha "Say hellooooo to the wiiiine" - will try not to think of that when I go to the next class!

@Ginandtonic31 missing your updates - hope all is well!

Welshpugmomma · 30/09/2020 21:59

@zest11 yes he mostly outward facing now, I had the ergo baby embrace which is like a softer form which I actually prefer but as he's gotten longer it just wasn't as comfortable and his feet would turn blue :[ so obviously was cutting his thigh in the wrong place i pretty much use it every day for a dog walk so now I know I like this one will probably buy, someone i know still carries her 2yo in one... I'm pretty sure that won't be me but hey you never know!

Lockdown is a farse imo, everything pretty much remains open but inside spaces all need social distancing in place, it seems like none of the smaller groups have restated you know the more low key baby then coffee/ chatter type ones or even library stuff etc.

Anyone got any rainy day activites to share? Been losing the will today!

KittyKatSmile · 01/10/2020 19:08

@Welshpugmomma Say Hello to the Wine is quite a good rainy day activity?

Apparently they are old enough at this age for shape sorter toys and those puzzles with the shapes for the animals etc to go in. Nancy will get some of those if the local charity shop has got any in....!

OP posts:
Welshpugmomma · 01/10/2020 19:18

Don't get me started on the charity shop hauls ;) or favorite wooden blocks in a cart we picked up couple of weeks ago and Josiah just likes to suck on the string for at least 15 mins a time, who needs fancy toys haha! Yes he has a shape sorter he quite likes, I tried to make a pat mat but haven't secured it properly will probably keep them aside for the weekend I just heard we're on a yellow rain warning now ( is there literally anything else you could throw at 2020! )

Zest11 · 01/10/2020 19:42

@welshpugmomma Yes I think a lot of it is a farce! It frustrates me as well how there's only a few baby groups on and no library groups. I like things that are free/affordable! I can't imagine new mums are a big risk yet pubs are fine as long as they shut at 10?! I don't have any rainy day suggestions, I go bonkers when I stay in. Have you joined peanut or are there any mum Facebook groups in your area so you could meet for a social? I meet various members of the NCT lot in the week. I'd find it a struggle without them tbh!

AliciaWhiskers · 01/10/2020 19:49

Hello all! It's so lovely to read about how all your little ones are doing. Fingers crossed I can do the same in a few months!

Embryo defrosted nicely and transfer went fine. I have had some pinkish tinged discharge (sorry if TMI!) since then but hopefully all is well. ]

Now for the dreaded 2ww!

Zest11 · 01/10/2020 20:16

@AliciaWhiskers oh good luck lovely. I am glad all went well today. Keep us posted. Have you got anything planned to keep you distracted over these next 2 weeks?

KittyKatSmile · 01/10/2020 22:39

@AliciaWhiskers need any jigsaws??! I've got some in unopened condition from when we were all deciding on the best things to do!! Or rewatch all of Love Island?!

OP posts:
Mrbay · 03/10/2020 01:27

Great news @aliciAwhiskers - I hope the TWW flys by and you have your bfp!!!

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm now 8 days on from the op and feeling good, only if I don't do too much! I've got a cleaner coming next week, I am so excited! Hubby thinks he can keep on top of everything but he cant so time for help!

Regarding the c section, I've not given it any more thought since last week but I know I'd be over the moon if I ever get to pregnancy.

Sorry I dont think I'd be helpful with rainy day play - I briefly remember seeing someone make a paint sensory play mat. I think (don't quote me) you tape plastic wrap on to the table/high chair etc. Squirt some paint and then put another layer of cling film down or a sandwich bag,.tape this down and then you have a squishy play mat!

AliciaWhiskers · 05/10/2020 13:25

@KittyKatSmile ooh great idea with the jigsaws! I'll see if I can dig some out here. The last few weeks/months have flown by - I can't believe it's October already, but my goodness the last 4 days have gone sooooooo slowly!

My OTD is 12th October and I don't know if I can hold out until then!

How old are all of your babies now?

KittyKatSmile · 05/10/2020 16:42

@AliciaWhiskers mine (who I think is the oldest??) was 7 months on Friday. How has this happened?! She's just got her first tooth (and her first cold). My nipples are shredded to bits 😄

How many DPO is OTD?

OP posts:
AliciaWhiskers · 05/10/2020 16:54

Wow, 7 months!! Poor nipples!!

I had my transfer (a 5d blast) on 1st October and they said to test on 12th, so 11 days?

Zest11 · 05/10/2020 20:04

@AliciaWhiskers I remember only too well how those days d.r.a.g.g.e.d in the 2ww. In fact, I only made it to 5dpt before testing. Not sure what the point was as I didn't believe it all until after the 12wk scan anyway. Do you think you will test early? Are you at work or have you got a bit of time off? Our baby boy was 3 months last week.

@Kittykatsmile I can't believe she is 7 months! She/you have done very well to go this long without her having a cold. J is just getting over his first now. Husband caught it, passed it to him who has now given it to me. Not enjoyable!!

AliciaWhiskers · 06/10/2020 11:45

@Zest11 did you get a BFP after 5 days? Was it a really faint one or clear? I’m at work and super busy as I’ve got 2 jobs atm so at least I am being kept occupied!! Poor you guys all having a cold, it’s so miserable when they are so full of snot and can’t breathe!

Zest11 · 06/10/2020 13:44

@AliciaWhiskers I'm glad you're kept busy - that is definitely the best way to be. There was something there on a sainsburys but it was so so faint I burst into tears as I thought it was another cp but then did another the morning after and it was slightly clearer. You sorta had to hold them into the light and squint!! In fact, I don't think anyone else would have been able to see them except me! I think if I had done a frer it would have been clearer but I didn't do one of those until 7dpt and that was obvious.

AliciaWhiskers · 10/10/2020 20:32

It’s almost OTD (Monday). Symptom spotting is driving me insane!!
