Abc IVF

Has anyone recently had IVF with abc IVF? They have approved me for a frozen cycle only at the moment.
Do you know if they are only doing frozen cycles in light of the pandemic.
We have mainly chosen them due to low cost. I appreciate that the low cost means cut backs in certain areas, but I'm often waiting for 1-1.5 hours on the phone to speak to a central phone line for all branches.
It's tricky as I know that IVF is really down to the individuals body response, but I still feel that decisions made by doctors about medication doses etc are important.
Keen to hear about others experiences.

I find abc lovely but create fertility where they send you for EC and egg transfer not so great

Poppies2020 · 25/07/2020 12:33

Hi @Elsbels85,

I didn’t have my egg collection at Create, they sent me to the ABC in Wimbledon, which I was happy with as it’s small and intimate. Everyone was very attentive and kind. What was your experience at Create? x

Elsbels85 · 25/07/2020 17:18

@Poppies2020 didn't find them professional at all, maybe it's due to being with ABC instead of being their patient, the morning of egg collection the doctor took a personal call in the same room as me when I'm being sedated, I was so shocked you didn't get the feeling of paying privately but saying is it could just be the hormones and I'm just being overly sensitive

Poppies2020 · 25/07/2020 17:56

@Elsbels85 That’s a shame that you didn’t feel like they were very professional. I know I was very nervous when I had my egg collection and would expect their attention to be on me. I hope that you had a successful egg collection in the end though? I have been told two eggs have been fertilised and if they are still healthy tomorrow, then I have my embryo transfer on Monday x

Elsbels85 · 25/07/2020 18:09

@Poppies2020 collection didn't go to bad egg wise I got 7 eggs 4 matured and 3 fertilised I done a 3 day egg transfer this morning due to low numbers and hoping the other 2 make it too day 5 then will be frozen

Poppies2020 · 25/07/2020 18:30

@Elsbels85 Congrats on your transfer! I have my fingers crossed for you. That’s a good result, I only had 3 eggs and 2 matured. Hoping I have one to transfer and 1 to freeze! I should have my transfer on Monday so we can cheer each other up during the wait Smile

Elsbels85 · 25/07/2020 18:50

Thank you @Poppies2020 are you having a day 3 transfer or 5 ? It was lovely seeing the embryo transferd just hope it sticks now

Poppies2020 · 25/07/2020 18:53

@Elsbels85 It will be a 3 day transfer. I didn’t realise you see anything. Do they show you a scan as they do it?

Elsbels85 · 25/07/2020 19:25

Fingers crossed for you hun, yeh you see it all, it was done in the same room as my egg collection,It didn't hurt was a bit uncomfortable due to having to have a full bladder, they also give you a picture if you ask as your partner cant be there due to covid

Poppies2020 · 25/07/2020 19:33

@Elsbels85 Oh fab, I’m even more excited now! Just have to hope I get the go ahead tomorrow Smile

Elsbels85 · 25/07/2020 20:07

@Poppies2020 let me know how you get on will have everything crossed for you x

Poppies2020 · 25/07/2020 20:15

@Elsbels85 Thank you!!! Will let you know how it goes x

Poppies2020 · 27/07/2020 17:28

Hi @Elsbels85 How are you feeling? I had the transfer today and it went well, if a bit uncomfortable! They said the embryo was 9.4, not too sure what that means but apparently it’s good! Now just to endure the 2ww............X

Elsbels85 · 27/07/2020 17:54

That's good hun hope it sticks for you. my other 2 made it to day 5 blast today so have now been put in the freezer so if the one in me doesn't stick I have 2 more attempts.
The 2ww is torture it's only been 3 days and I'm already over thinking any cramp lol x

Poppies2020 · 27/07/2020 18:16

That’s great that you had two to freeze! I hope you can keep busy during the wait. In between work I have booked some time off to go and visit family, so hopefully that takes my mind off it x

Elsbels85 · 27/07/2020 18:41

I'm back to work on the 4th of August I booked 3 weeks off so I didn't have to worry about scans etc hoping when I'm back to work I can keep my mind busy x

Poppies2020 · 28/07/2020 07:14

@Elsbels85 I think that work should distract you and give you something else to think about, especially important in the last few days of waiting! I’ve been lucky that I told my employer and so have had the days off for appointments, but worked the other days. It was good to take my mind off it all and have other things to talk about with people. I’m visiting family for the last week of my 2ww, most of them don’t know so I’m hoping it will keep me distracted! Smile x

BewilderedBee · 29/07/2020 17:35

Hi, I'm with ABC and I had a day 8 scan today where they said my follicles aren't responding. I just have one that's really on track! I've been upped to 225 bemfola now and hoping by Friday (next scan) they'll have caught up. I think it similar to you @adelya! I just hope it's not too late to start the higher dose!

Elsbels85 · 30/07/2020 12:04

Hi @BewilderedBee they can literally catch up overnight fingers crossed for you
@Poppies2020 how are you getting on with the 2 week wait ? I'm hating! I've never been one to have patience I'm constantly symptom spotting everything x

Poppies2020 · 30/07/2020 13:22

@Elsbels85 I’m the same! I can’t stay off Google and am checking every single thing before I eat or drink it! Are you getting cramps? Some of mine are quite uncomfortable and I’ve had to take paracetamol a couple of time x

Elsbels85 · 30/07/2020 13:27

@Poppies2020 I was cramping 2nd and 3rd and 4th day now I've got a backache. The weirdest thing was yesterday my sister was eating a chicken bake from Greggs I could smell it so strong I couldn't be in the same room as it was making me feel sick, just so hard not getting my Hope's up when I've got so many symptoms x

misty20 · 30/07/2020 13:44

Hi I'm new to this thread. Hope everyone is well.

We had a zoom consultation at the end of June with ABC. Had a scan 14th July and hoping to start beginning of September period cycle.

only issue we have been having is with the transports team as we are having frozen sperm transferred from UCLH. the transports team are at create, they don't have a direct number so everything is done by email and their response is very delayed. has anyone else done this with ABC ?
we want the sperm transferred asap so we can have our treatment consult in a couple weeks and so we don't get delayed starting in September. Both UCLH and the transporting company are ready but can't do anything till create say they are ready to accept paperwork. very frustrating and slight off putting.
has anyone had any experiences with this at all?

Poppies2020 · 30/07/2020 13:52

@Elsbels85 It’s so hard not to overthink it isn’t it. I have exactly the same, cramps on 2nd/3rd/4th day. I have barely had an appetite through the whole process which is not like me - Last night I got up at 5.30am as I was so hungry!!! Hard not to look too much into it. Our one other egg didn’t make it to the freezing stage so hoping this one implants! x

Elsbels85 · 30/07/2020 15:02

@misty20 I'm sorry I haven't got a clue my husband done a fresh seamen when I had my eggs collection at create.
@Poppies2020 we only managed to get one frosty, out of the three that were fertilized they put the best one in and the 2nd best is the one that made it to day 5 blasting the other one made it to day 5 but didn't manage to make it through the blast. Fingers crossed for both of us the stick xx

Poppies2020 · 30/07/2020 15:06

@Elsbels85 yes fingers crossed for us both! I thought the pregnancy test was 2 weeks from et, but I have mine next Friday, so must be 2 weeks from ec. You must be having yours a couple of days before me? x
