Hi everyone, we got the call today to start our first round of IVF. We’ll be starting drugs in a couple of weeks and injections late June - anybody with me???

Awwwww huge congratulations @Msl1980s, that’s great news!! My main symptoms have been a bit of sickness (which goes away instantly as soon as I eat something) and getting out of breath really easily while doing very little. We saw our tiny bean with its tiny heartbeat at our 7 week scan last week and all looks ok so far 😍

@sazzle1000 ah exciting to see a heartbeat, I can't wait! we've got our scan on 8th September. My belly had been so bad in the last few days, like I've eaten something bad but I've eaten all the same things as my partner has and he's fine so not sure if it's just the progesterone or what Confused. Thought everyone got constipated in pregnancy not the opposite!

Sazzle1000 · 16/08/2020 11:16

@Msl1980s I was exactly the same for about 2 weeks, lots of urgent trips to the loo 😂🙈

@sazzle1000 oh ok phew! Glad it's not just me! 😂

LizTay80 · 16/08/2020 14:25

Hello ladies

We got a positive pregnancy result this morning! I was and still am in utter shock.

@Msl1980s
I can completely relate to the stomach probs! So weird this week I’ve constantly felt awful after everything I’d eaten. I just put it down to my IBS but it seemed much worse and I wasn’t eating any of the trigger foods.
Even before I did my test this morning I had to run and do a nervous poo ( TMI SORRY) 😂😂

Sazzle1000 · 16/08/2020 15:44

Awwwww huge congratulations @LizTay80, it’s such a crazy feeling isn’t it, think I did several tests before I really believed it 😂

Huge congratulations, you've all done so well ❤️

hopefulvibes · 16/08/2020 15:57

@LJM83 sorry I missed your update, I'm so sorry to hear AF turned up. I hope you're doing okay? Fingers crossed for the frosties that are tucked away 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Msl1980s · 16/08/2020 17:13

@lizTay80 ah exciting! So pleased for you!

I have switched from putting the progesterone up the back to up the front just incase that helps 😂.
I read on another website that people had funny stomachs and stopped eating dairy which helped. I did have a greasy cheesy pepperoni pizza last night so maybe that didn't help....

LizTay80 · 17/08/2020 21:08

@Sazzle1000
Thank you. Haha yeah I’ve done two already. Think I’ll continue to until our 7 week scan. Still feels so surreal.

@Msl1980s
Let me know how you get on with your progesterone plan change! I’ve had such an awful stomach too for days and I might change it up too. Hopefully it helps 🤞🏽 Xx

Msl1980s · 19/08/2020 19:42

Hey @lizTay80 just to let you know that putting the progesterone up the from made no difference and was just messier. So I've gone back to the back way! But my stomach seems a little bit better now. Now I've just got a lot of white discharge... So doesn't matter what you do, mess all round! 😂
Hope everyone is OK x

Sazzle1000 · 19/08/2020 21:44

Ha ha @Msl1980s I did exactly the same thing with the progesterone as soon as I was allowed - so much messier I lasted 1 day 😂

@Msl1980s
Ha ha thanks for the info! I’ve still remained with the back door technique and my stomach has settled down a bit now- thankfully! Minus the bloating though.

We’ve got our 7 week scan date booked for the 7th of September. Anyone work out how many weeks they are? I find it a bit confusing.

Also has anyone retested? Feel like I want to do it weekly!

Msl1980s · 20/08/2020 11:44

@lizTay80 if you Google "pregnancy due date ivf" there are loads of sites which you calculate your due date by embryo transfer date. Apparantly I'm 4 weeks 6 days pregnant now which is weird

Msl1980s · 20/08/2020 11:46

I only retested so that I could take a test to show to my mum today.... And how she won't give it back! 😂 Otherwise I won't bother. Will just wait until my scan on 8th September

LizTay80 · 20/08/2020 13:34

@Msl1980s

Aw yes thank you! I’m four weeks and six days too according to what I’ve calculated online. Feels so weird as I thought I’d only be two!

Aww bless her, she must be so delighted! 💛

Elsbels85 · 24/08/2020 21:33

Glad it all went well. When is your next scan? Does it just jump to the 12 after the 7?
Xx

Msl1980s · 24/08/2020 23:17

Congratulations ladies awesome news for those who are pregnant. Sorry for those who didn't get the news they were looking for.

I have a quick question with regards to abstention. Do any of you guys know roughly how long your partner's abstained before giving their sperm sample ?

We are due to go abroad in early September and I've been advised to abstain for 48-72 hrs before I give my sperm sample. The reason for my question is the more research I do online it shows the shorter the period of abstinence the better the quality of the sperm. Maybe I shouldn't read but it's pretty confusing so just wanted to see what other people who went through the situation recommend ?

My partners last sample was 4 days and was the best sample we got x
