Hi ,

I've taken my second tablet on my first cycle and wondering if anyone is due to start there's soon or are around the same time as me?

I know there's already a clomid thread but I think I'd get pretty lost as I'm new to this so was hoping for people to keep each other occupied as we wait in anticipation!

Hey, I'm due to start clomid in the next few weeks, just waiting for AF, it will be my first cycle on clomid so very nervous. Any side effects yet?

ineedamiracle2020 · 06/03/2020 17:57

Hey @Mrsk08 (I've changed my username but I'm OP lol)

Honestly I've had 0 side effects yet, don't know if it's too early or if it's a good or bad thing lol! It felt like months between getting the subscription to my next period haha 😂 I have PCOS and although I get a period each month I don't ovulate so here we are !

Mrsk08 · 06/03/2020 19:18

So far so good thenWink I'm worried about the side effects as have been lurking around on lots of forums.
I have PCOS also, I'm currently on my last day of provera to bring on my period as its so irregular.
Tell me about the wait since getting the prescription, I had to wait 2 months for the go ahead to start as waiting other results

Mrsk08 · 07/03/2020 22:37

@ineedamiracle2020 was just wandering have you arranged for ur scan? Ive never waited for AF so eagerly Grin

ineedamiracle2020 · 08/03/2020 08:07

Hey @Mrsk08 sorry I thought I replied to your other comment! It took me about 8 months from my first appointment to get clomid as they wouldn't give me them until I had an all clear on my hsg!

They're not giving me a scan, I have do a urine sample 4 times throughout my cycle and they test at the end which is a bit frustrating as by the time they have the results on wether it worked or not I'll be onto my next cycleHmmDoes your hospital scan you? Hopefully AF arrives soon for you Grin!x

Can anyone please help with the photo I have shared. I have two children from a previous relationship, but my now partner of seven years has no living children of his own. I have been on clomid for 5 months and his sperm is perfect!! Our review appointment at the fertility clinic is in April and I think they may suggest IUI or IVF.
Please can anyone clarify if we are are eligible for NHS funding. I have contacted my CCG and waiting for a reply. Thanks Smile

Hey @ineedamiracle2020,
Wow 8 months is ages and here's me complaining about 2 months... sorry
How are you getting on?
I have been told to call on cycle day 1 to arrange a scan for around cycle day 10, and then a blood test later on in the cycle to see if I ovulated (I think cycle day 17, not too sure) so even with being offered a scan, they'll only confirm if I ovulated after the blood test. I guess its just to be consistent with trying after around cycle day 10.

@Lauren87E I'm really sorry I can't read the picture clearly, its fuzzy when I zoom in. I guess the best and most accurate advice and information will be given to you at your fertility appointment. Best of luck x

We've been ttc for 17 months, my HSG came back clear and OH's sample was OK so I've got unexplained primary infertility.
I'm 37 (today) and came on last night ( 😏 happy birthday me) .
I've got my Clomid prescription which I need to pick up today and I'm waiting for gynae to call me back to book my scan for day 10/11.
I'm keeping track of my days and I'm booking a 1 night spa trip with my friend but this falls on day 14/15. I might just book it anyway as its only 1 night but I've getting fed up of changing plans just incase. I'm struggling to keep positive at the moment. Xx

Lifesforloving1 · 10/03/2020 16:57

Hey guys ,
I’m also on my first round of Clomid after ttc for 4 years with pcos . I didn’t have any side effects as such , apart from cramping. I’m currently 5DPO , and go for bloods Friday . Nurse said I grew some good eggs . had a few cramps today & have VERY sore boobs ! I’m guessing this may be from the Clomid though ? Good luck ladies !! 🥰

ineedamiracle2020 · 10/03/2020 19:34

Hey @Mrsk08 It's fine don't worry about it! The doc forgot to refer me, then I had to wait again , then I had af on my first app date and didn't get another one for 3 months 😂 if anything can go wrong for me it will haha ! Yeah we're going to dye every second day from end of at to start of next cycle ( or bfp🤞) and every day during fertile window! Has your clinic mentioned ovulation tests ? I gave up with them after PCOS diagnosis but I want to try them again this cycle!

@Estara hello! This would be my first also, I've given up so much in the past 2 years I've decided to not limit myself anymore! Go for the spa night!

@Lauren87E I didn't have any side effects either ! Didn't know if this is a bad thing or good thing but we will soon see! I know the side effects sheet did mention that! But it could also be heightened progesterone after ov !! Wishing u the most luck !!

Xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/03/2020 20:49

I'd be very surprised you'll get any NHS funding for IVF since you have several children between you @Lauren87E

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/03/2020 20:53

Apologies @Lauren87E I completely misread your post.
Unfortunately as you have children it is still unlikely you'll get funding. We are in the same position, trying for no2 and despite the fact DS was a clomid baby, all I get are a couple of round of clomid on the NHS and that's it. We have to fund IVF ourselves.

Lauren87E · 10/03/2020 21:06

Youbogglemymind

It does state on the CCG funding....

Funding will be made available to patients who do not have a living child from their current relationship and where either of the partners does not have a living child from a previous relationship (i.e. one of the partners may have a child, the other must not).
• A child adopted by a patient or adopted in a previous relationship is considered to have the same status as a biological child.
• Once a patient is accepted for treatment they will no longer be eligible for treatment if a pregnancy leading to a live birth occurs or the patient adopts a child.

So I think we qualify but I'm just not sure. I will have to discuss it with the fertility dr. Good luck on your journey Smile

Mrsk08 · 10/03/2020 21:32

Hey @Estara Happy birthday, good luck for starting the clomid. Enjoy the spa day too, I would do anything for a relaxing pamper.

@ineedamiracle2020 me and my other half decided the same sort of schedule aswell, I find it awful having to have a "schedule". I was the same with ovulation tests, I tried many times before pcos diagnosis, haven't used them since. I think trying every other day and then every day between fertile window should cover us, having an ovulation test confirm the actual date would be ideal but I just don't trust them anymore :(

@Lifesforloving1 no side effects sounds promising for someone who's stressing about taking clomid. I hope it goes well for you, do keep us posted x

YouBoggleMyMind · 10/03/2020 21:41

Well count yourself very lucky and that you're in a great CCG. Isn't it so unfair how it is different all over the county! Not sure it'll be much of a journey, I don't feel hopeful at all, but thank you. Good luck to you too.

SilkCottonTree · 11/03/2020 13:33

Hello, I took Clomid a year ago and got pregnant first time. However I had a mmc at 10 weeks which was later found out to be due to T21. We took a break from TTC and I've just taken my first Clomid pill last night, so I feel I am back on my first cycle of Clomid as it has been almost a year since I last took it! We've been TTC no2 since September 2017 ☹️
I took the pill just before bed as I'd read that that way you sleep through the side effects..
Good luck to everyone x

Estara · 11/03/2020 22:09

Hi guys, thank you for wishing me a Happy birthday 😘 I'm feeling more positive today and took my first Clomid tablet this morning. I was wondering if morning or night was better too. I've not had any side affects so going to stick with mornings. Good luck to you all and keep us posted on updates / scans (got my appointment through for D10 transvaginal ultrasound, oh the glamour, haha) xx

Mrsk08 · 16/03/2020 12:52

Hey all, how is everyone getting on? I have taken my first tablet today and have arranged for a scan on CD12.
Hope its going well for everyone x

Lifesforloving1 · 16/03/2020 16:09

@Mrsk08
Good luck ! Hope all goes well for you ! I’m going to test Sunday ! Really hoping for some good news !! I don’t have any symptoms apart from my boobs are still sore ! Hopefully it’s a good sign ! xx

Estara · 16/03/2020 18:03

Fingers crossed for your test Life'sforloving1.
I finished my clomid yesterday, can't say I've had any side effects thankfully. Xx

ineedamiracle2020 · 16/03/2020 20:12

Hi all!

Hope you're all well- how is everyone getting on ? I'm on day 14 and got a BLAZING positive ovulation test today which I know doesn't mean much but it's put my mind at rest for today at least! Is anyone secretly hoping for twins or is it just me... 😂

Lifesforloving1 · 16/03/2020 20:25

@Mrsk08 many thanks ! speak to you all soon x

Estara · 16/03/2020 23:50

@ineedamiracle2020, we've joked for years that when we have kids it will probably be twins, my mum is a twin and my OHs dad was a twin. Who knows xx

ineedamiracle2020 · 17/03/2020 07:31

@Estara as soon as they told us clomid can cause a multiple pregnancy, it's been a running joke with us about twins/triplets but now I'm warming to the idea, god help me if we need to go through all of this stress in a couple of years time for a second haha! Ooh you could be in with a chance there it is said to run in the family !! xx

Estara · 18/03/2020 16:58

Has anyone had any news from thier clinic about treatment being suspended until this Corona Virus has blown over? I'm getting panicky.
My Oh said this morning that he thinks we should stop trying as we don't know what affect the virus will have on a foetus. I've asked him to wait until we speak to the consultant tomorrow. I'm feeling totally torn in two as I understand what he's saying but age isn't on my side and who knows how long this will last, we've already waited long enough. I've got a headache from trying not to cry all day xx
