Clomid cycle1

Hi ,

I've taken my second tablet on my first cycle and wondering if anyone is due to start there's soon or are around the same time as me?

I know there's already a clomid thread but I think I'd get pretty lost as I'm new to this so was hoping for people to keep each other occupied as we wait in anticipation!

Hey @Estara, I haven't heard anything yet in regards to my day 12 scan.
I have been thinking about the same thing really, My husband is a doctor so the risk of us being infected is so high even if I decide to stay home.
I don't think they'll ask to suspend the treatment, they may not provide scans, blood tests etc. Try not to worry about it, your consultation should hopefully clear things up for you tomorrow.

How did everyone get on with thier scans?
I had mine on Thursday, good news is Clomid has worked, not so good news, it may have worked a bit too well. There was 2 follicles ready to erupt and a further 2 which looked like they could also erupt. Consultant told us to hang fire as we may have to write this month off due to the risk of multiples. Had to go back this morning for another scan and good news is one is ready and possibly another, so we've got the green light to try 💚🤞

Amazing news @Estara fingers are crossed for you!! I'm about 6 dpo (I think) and trying to be as positive as possible!

It's strange my clinic doesn't offer scans , especially as it could've over stimulated and realised 4 or 5 eggs. Only time will tell I suppose !

@ineedamiracle2020, I'm still getting used the the lingo, Dpo? Is that days past ovulation?
How strange they don't scan, it never crossed my mind that other clinics wouldn't follow suit. The consultant said it is unlikely they will scan again if I have to have more clomid as they now know how my body has reacted to the dose. X

@Estara yep, that's right! I know, I went in knowing they were going to give me clomid (they advised me of my next steps if hsg was clear) so I had researched as we all do and totally expected them to give me a scan so I was a bit deflated that I'll have to wait 2 weeks into my next cycle to find out it even works because of the way they track

Hopefully it won't matter and I'll have a little bambino growing away in there by then though

Hi guys I’m a bit confused
I’m new to all this
We had consultant app the other day and she gave me provera and metformin and said the treatment will be clomid. However I need to loose 5lbs before I can begin the clomid due to BMI
So frantically dieting lol.

What happens with the clomid ?
She said just to call up when I’m at target weight for a weigh in then she will leave prescription for clomid ... then I start taking it... then I think she said I got back a few days later for a scan ? Does that sound correct ? I forgot to ask so many question and it was a bit of information overload ... sorry for rant .... x xx

My daughter was a result of Clomid Cycle 2 so if 1 does not work...you never know. She is now 9 xx

I have since found out that I have severe stage 4 Endometriosis so that was the reason we couldn't conceive.

@vincent2020, I'm not familiar with metformin and provera (?).
Clomid stimulates yours ovaries to produce an egg/eggs.
Some clinics scan a few days before ovulation to check that it has worked and how many eggs are ready to erupt.

Good luck with the weight loss, my consultant said I could do with losing some weight in case we get to ivf stage as they're really strict on it. My bmi shows I'm overweight but I'm 5ft and a size 10/12.

Hi thanks for reply..That makes a bit more sense thank you. The provera was still stimulate bleeding to shed lining of womb so I take that for 10days. Yes my BMI is 31 and it’s to be below 30 🙄 so not much to go at least, that’s is amazing @Lifesforloving1 massive congrats !!

@Lifesforloving1 oh no! I wouldn't worry just yet, I've heard a lot of people bleed through their pregnancy. Just keep testing and make sure those lines get darker xx

@Lifesforloving1 all my fingers are crossed for you! Im feeling a bit up and down, it's hard being positive when you've been trying over 2 years as I'm sure you'll relate with! The tww is the worst, but I don't feel any different to any other months so don't have much hope!

Did you have any symptoms before your bfp?

My only symptoms were really sore boobs ! Nothing apart from that. Sending lots of hope for you xx
