Hi peeps :)

I’ll hyperlink this to our old thread so we can continue bitching about crystal82 😂

I can’t believe we’ve almost got to 1000 posts. I didn’t even know that was a thing - thank you @kittykatsmile because I had no idea it would just max out and I can NOT go on without you all. That’s not even an option.

@KittyKatSmile oh crap, have I done bad by eating smoked salmon? I have it like all of the time too 😭 😭. I could kick myself for not checking. I just assumed fish was good in moderation.

I am a lover of Instagram, the only big social media platform I use.

@Cauliflower82 hahaha glad Pip likes your eggs that way!! Oh no I'm sorry you have bad hayfever, that must be soooo frustrating especially on days like this with your dog! Don't worry about the sneezing, I've not heard of any scientific papers entitled "Sneezing reduces implantation rate by 58.3%" it is mad how much we worry about everything though! What are you going to do with your day? Boxset? Yes 3 is great (my embryologist said it was a above average!) I can't believe how many eggs you got Crystalflower, no wonder you felt so bad and that's so lucky you didn't get OHSS! Grin you'll probably have more by the end of the day but even if you don't 4 blastocysts in 1 cycle is loads! For us it is actually really helpful that we have a few more goes as we don't know the cause of our infertility and if this time doesn't work I have chance to pay for more specific tests like the NK cells/immunology. I was expecting us to run into some problems with fertilisation or development of the embryo but as we haven't it leads me to think the problem must be implantation based Confused. I'm back on it too. Just had my low fat protein yogurt with fruit and pomegranate juice for breakfast :(

@Ginandtonic31 hahaha that's hilarious! I thought I had swindled the system but we both have. Still, I haven't taken ANY books out on my new card as I can't trust myself to remember to take them back. You can't get fines on ebooks and they automatically check them out for you, it's brilliant! Also, do you live near another area? I am on the border of two counties so I have 2 memberships that use different apps so I have more selection! (God, I sound like a right saddo playing the library system! Grin)

Zest11 · 03/07/2019 10:48

@KittyKatSmile thank you! I really hope my next outcome is the same as yours!! Grin

KittyKatSmile · 03/07/2019 10:51

@Cauliflower82 I knew you'd freak out! I didn't want you to do that. Just stop from now. Fish is good but just not uncooked. I love smoked salmon too! I've got hugely into sardines recently, starting in Portugal and I've now brought it back. Such a gross little 80s cheapskate!!

Feeling so happy for everyone today x

Cauliflower82 · 03/07/2019 10:59

@zest11 we’ve just got the call and no more today but, like you said, I’m still so happy with what we’ve got. I’ll always be grateful that we’ve got this opportunity. It must be really difficult to have no real reason as to why it just wasn’t quite working naturally. We fall into ‘unexplained’ BUT after my hsg, the doctor did tell us that he wouldn’t be surprised if it’s down to my weird misshapen Fallopian tubes. He offered a laparoscopy to check them out further but said ivf would probably be our desired outcome from it being confirmed or not as we’d been trying so long. I, therefore, didn’t get the laparoscopy.
I do like pomegranates but the juice is not great, is it?! It tastes like watered down good juice.
I’m currently reading ‘if you could go anywhere’, a little bit of light happy reading and it’s going okay. I am up for a good boxset though if anyone can recommend. I’m into things like ‘Jane the Virgin’ and ‘The Good Place’. Typically comedies are my kind of thing.

Loving all the library bantz btw.

@KittyKatSmile I will, I’ll stop from now.
Can I have cooked unsmoked salmon?

I sound like a salmon fiend but it’s like my favourite food.

Smoked salmon and a good rare rib eye 🙊

Hi ladies I hope you don't mind me posting a quick question on here, I've managed to work myself up a bit that it's all gone wrong.

Currently on Buserelin nasal spray and estrogen tablets and patches to prepare for FET. Day 14 of cycle but last 48hours felt like I've had twinges like when I ovulate. Also sure that my body temperature in pelvic area has increased.

I'm so worried I've ovulated and that we will have to start again, anyone else had similar but not ovulated?

Ginandtonic31 · 03/07/2019 12:13

I've actually read smoked salmon is ok! Just popping on to say that. Will catch up over lunch!

Ginandtonic31 · 03/07/2019 12:16

Becsharry · 03/07/2019 12:40

@GinevraWeasley hi, I also had FET and had ovulation pains and I also felt the same as you. When I went in to have a scan to check my lining I had the worst stomach ache on the left side and I thought he would say that I had ovulated but I hadn’t. I think that’s why they do a medicated cycle so that they can control all of that where as if you was on a natural cycle they can’t control anything. I hope this helps & good luck x

KittyKatSmile · 03/07/2019 12:42

Hm! But isn't smoked salmon raw?! How is it different to sushi? But thank you (and sorry then for the panic @Cauliflower82!)

@GinevraWeasley yes, a few people on here have had that, can't remember who. But it's not possible to ovulate when on these drugs so you should be ok. Good luck.

Ginandtonic31 · 03/07/2019 12:48

@KittyKatSmile I've no idea. I just remembered reading it. Omg I just can't cope without pate. I've not even thought yet what I should or shouldn't eat!!

Zest11 · 03/07/2019 13:00

@KittyKatSmile you're also a crystal with your spare name. Are we not forgetting Keith or have you just done a massive slip up??!!

@Cauliflower82 that's interesting about misshapen tubes, I have not heard of that before. Did the Dr actually call them "weird?" Grin Completely agree on the lap front being pointless. I had one despite the consultant saying it wouldn't change anything but I insisted as Dr Google suggested I had endometriosis. (Obviously the consultant was right and I didn't). And yes with misshapen tubes it wouldn't do anything. I guess you will always have that thought though that you could one day "just fall." Yes unexplained is very unhelpful, it's how myself and Dr Google have become such frenemies! Oh god, a nice rare rib eye steak you've got my mouth watering. Pomegranate taste is nowhere near as nice as actual pomegranates, I'm finding it sickly!

@GinevraWeasley hello! I was convinced I had ovulated as I stopped feeling twinges and my ewcm started to clear. I hadn't though!

@Ginandtonic31 no I hadn't thought about foods either! @kittykatsmile is there anything else we should be doing? Sitting naked in front of our webcams?!!Grin

GinevraWeasley · 03/07/2019 13:17

Thank you so much for your replies, feeling much calmer now. I've done an FET a few times now but can't remember ever having twinges before so panicked Blush

Cauliflower82 · 03/07/2019 13:22

@zest11 the doctor called me a freak and then ordered me out of his office - he said someone with Fallopian tubes like mine clearly belong on Neptune (ironically, my favourite planet). He called, apologised and we’ve not spoken of it since.
I think it’s that thought of ‘one day’ that drives us even more crazy! It sucks but at least we’re all doing something about it. I feel better now than I’ve done in years tbh, mentally and emotionally that is.

@KittyKatSmile, @Ginandtonic31 and @keith it appears you’re all a bit right - smoked salmon, good if cooked hot, should avoid if smoked cold. Nothing like a call to Dr Weiner to get this clarified. Don’t worry about making me panic - today I appear to be pretty chilled so I can take it. Thanks guys :).

@Becsharry what is a fet like? As many drugs or a lot more chilled? I keep telling my husband that we’re trying the three in the freezer and if they all stick he’ll just have to work a lot harder 😂.

OP posts:
Cauliflower82 · 03/07/2019 13:23

@GinevraWeasley I could have asked you about fet transfer too. Hi btw :) welcome to the back door passage girls.

Nice surprise for me today.
The door went and I’d totally forgotten that after my egg collection, I’d purchased some shoes: pink, sequined with flowers down the side. I’m in heaven! Beautiful surprise from drugged up me.

Ginandtonic31 · 03/07/2019 13:34

@Zest11 just looked. My library does BookBox for ebooks so this weekend I am making it my priority to go down there, Feds up to my fines and get my login sorted. Have you a kobo or kindle? Do you have to download something onto a computer to get it on? This looks like you do.

Becsharry · 03/07/2019 13:35

@cauliflower82 I found FET much easier than fresh. I chose to have a medicated cycle as in twelve years of trying I never have fallen pregnant naturally so I wanted to have to best chance. I had injections for seven days and patches 2 on everyday and the pessaries. The only thing with FET is that you worry constantly that your embryo won’t survive the thaw but that’s the same with fresh I suppose worrying that they won’t make it to ET. But overall FET much more chilled x

Becsharry · 03/07/2019 13:37

@Cauliflower82 And no egg collection with FET 😊x

Becsharry · 03/07/2019 13:38

@GinevraWeasley don’t worry it’s very normal to have those pains. 😊

Mrbay · 03/07/2019 14:11

Hi girls

Just wanted to say, I'm hopeless at ready through the thread and then actually remember what I wanted to reply too.

I'm soooooo tired today, currently hiding in the loo at work!!

@KittyKatSmile - knock yourself out, I'm on insta and Facebook but I warn you know I only do updates on my animals. I mean who doesn't want to know about my annoying cats, Ghost Cat and Mia McGregor

Cauliflower82 · 03/07/2019 14:30

@Becsharry ooh that does sound significantly more doable :). Thank you for the info.

@mrbay I’m a pet instagramer too!

If anyone wants to PM me their insta account, I’d love to follow and have you follow in return. I feel a tad weird posting it though on the open forum with being a teacher and all.

@Cauliflower82 Amazing!! That must have been such a treat! I wonder because we're twins I'll get some pink shoes delivered too?!! Grin I can't tell if you're joking or not about your Dr? Hmm Grin is he a bit barmy? Yes the "one day" bit is enough to drive us round the bend. And yes, like you I feel better emotionally than years and I think it's because we're doing something about it. I had actually put off IVF for so long as I kept thinking we only get one shot, it will fail, I won't cope when it fails, if it fails I'll have to spend £20k+ at ARGC and it still might not work. But now I realise their's private tests that can be done, we have some frozen and if they all fail we can cross that bridge when we come to it. (Please someone remind me of my levelheadedness in a week or so's time when I'm distraught if this one has failed!!)

@Ginandtonic31 Bookbox is great. I just have a tablet so I have the app downloaded onto that and I just download and read from there. I'm not sure about kobo/kindle as I don't have those but I expect it's straightforward.

@Becsharry thank you for telling us about FETs, they seem a lot less stressful.

@Mrbay ha! My fbook is full of pictures of my two cats too! They're the equivalent of when mums post millions of pictures of their kids! Grin
