December/ January IVF&ICSI

Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

@brighteye3986 good plan! The OHSS is much better now thanks and I'm back at work this week. It was a very hard couple of weeks. I'll take morning sickness any day over that!

It’s next Thursday @brighteye3986. Still another week to wait!

@womaninkent I thought you would have had yours by now. How far along are you?

We told our families last night as they have been on the journey with us. Everyone was ecstatic. I was prepared for my mum to cry but my dad burst into tears when we told him- I was prepared for this neither were my sisters so we were all blubbering messes!

@brighteye3986 i’m 7 weeks 4 days so i’ll hopefully be 8 weeks 3 days at the scan. It is on the late side but the nurse told me it had to be 3-4 weeks after my BFP and that is when the clinic could offer.
Glad telling your family went well. I got slightly bounced into telling my mum because she’d known about the ivf and she directly asked if it had worked-I’d decided I wasn’t going to go out of my way to announce it but I wasn’t going to lie either. She just looked a bit scared because I followed it with a long speech about how it was very early days and not to get her hopes up too much until the end of the first trimester. I’m quite sad I didn’t get to do a big announcement but maybe if all goes well i’ll take the 12 week scan photo up to show them and it will be like a mini announcement. Obviously because my mum knows my dad, sisters and probably aunts do as well!

@womaninkent we have asked our families not to say anything to anyone until we have passed our 12 week mark- or at least had our around 12 week scan. I've also said I don't want to buy anything or have anything brought/ given to us until we have passed that mark too. When we told my MIL she just picked up her knitting and carried on knitting a blanket!

Anybody found a board for BFP after IVF? I'm on a November board but everyone else is natural conception so I don't really have anyone to talk with on there that has been through IVF and knowing if what I'm feeling is similar to others. I don't know if the symptoms are very much the same or if they can be worse due to IVF??

@brighteye3986 i’ve not seen one-do you want to start one??

@womaninkent I'm happy to start one. Do you think it should be on infertility or pregnancy??
