Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

Argh.... only 2DP5DT and already started the symptom spotting.... I'm sure it's far to early... and due to being back at work and actually having to sit up all day! Got a back ache in my lower back. Had some cramping to my left hand side. I'm sure it's just my body adjusting following everything that's gone on but can't help thinking it's linked.... only another 9 days to go 😩

@brighteye3986 i know what u mean! I start symptom spotting that night! I've had dull aches, short sharp cramps, low back ache, boobs so swollen and sore I hold them on stairs now! And the pessaries are making me bloated. Just want to know if it's all worth it now. But not long...
It actually hits a point where u go from desperate to know to terrified to test. I've hit that point now.

@positivity86 that sounds horrible. Plenty of rest and water for u! And more injections! But at least it worked so u know it will be worth it. Just try and take it easy for a bit.

brighteye3986 · 19/02/2019 06:41

@Ginger951 ohh my boobs.... they were really painful before EC and they are getting back to that again now.... I told DH I'm going to have to get sleeping bras to support them as it hurts too much when in bed. The back ache seems to have eased this morning.

Now to tell myself to stop it, and in around a week I will know for sure. I suppose there is no point trying to guess either as annoyingly the symptoms for working and not working are very similar...... blah.... this is definitely the worst part of the whole process.

At the moment I want to know but I'm not eager to test. I know what you mean though. At the beginning you want to know and I'm sure the closer you get to knowing the less you want to know in a way.

And your OTD is only 2 days before mine..... 🙏🏻🤞🏻✨

@brighteye3986 i know what u mean about sleeping bras! Very important. At times i feel like it's not to bad and then a few hours later they feel like they will explode.
So terrified of testing, there is comfort in not knowing. I know all the logic, like you say early signs are the same either way, I know we had a good quality transfer and my fertility tests as great. But we've never gotten this far before, I may tick all the boxes but what if it fails me now. The rest of my biological family are super fertile! I just want some part of this journey to be easy.
The last 2 year's have been the worst of my life! The infertility diagnoses, nearly losing my husband in a motorbike accident, my grandmother passed away after a very short and nasty battle with dementia (We were very close), my sister falling pregnant twice, nearly losing one of my businesses.
This could either be the light at the end or the end of me!

Did u have a nice anniversary?

brighteye3986 · 19/02/2019 09:54

@Ginger951 I know exactly what you mean! We have been TTC for almost 4 years now. One of my sisters has 4 children and the other 2. I'm the youngest out of 4 and the only one that doesn't have any children.

My mum has a form of Alzheimer's so that has been very difficult throughout the whole process and has now been registered as sight impaired also.

In regard to the boobs- oh my, it's like having concrete Bollards attached to me permanently and am already thinking about getting some sleeping bras, it's for comfort anyway!

@Ginger951 oh and our anniversary is tomorrow... going for a meal at a steak restaurant.... once ET had been completed and they said about things to eat etc, I was like oh, I'm going to have to have my steak well done now....

Thanks @brighteye3986 and @Ginger951. I'm feeling better than I was last week so that's something! I know too well what it's like to symptom spot...you are aware of every twinge. For me, the thing that made me feel something was happening was mild period cramps on day 4 which woke me up overnight, and then the OHSS hit. Wishing you both so much luck xx

brighteye3986 · 19/02/2019 14:24

@Positivity86 that's good to hear. Fingers crossed you are on your road to recovery now 🤞🏻

I'm just staying positive and am staying in the PUPO bubble. 1 week tomorrow until I test 🙏🏻✨

@brighteye3986 it must be so hard with your mum. I do know however there is lots of support regarding sight loss. My gran lost hers about 8 years before her mental health went. Something called macular degeneration, there are lots of helpful things available.

Yes knowing what I can still eat without being silly is hard. Without ivf I wouldn't even know not to yet!

@positivity86 glad your feeling better. Do they scan u again to see how things are going?

I've had cramps, one sharp one in the middle of the night about 3 days post transfer and since transfer I've had this pulling pain/ache on my right side and sometimes right side of my back. So confused! As my boobs are still swollen but less sore. Worrying like mad.

Ginger951 · 20/02/2019 07:17

8dp5dt and I couldn't stand it anymore so tested. BFN I just want to cry. Truly believe this can't happen for us. Just want to give up trying.

brighteye3986 · 20/02/2019 08:05

@Ginger951 don't give up hope just yet. There are several reasons that they advise you to wait and test. Our clinic even told us if we get a negative to test again the following day.

I've been so crampy last night and this morning. Also go a headache similar to what I'd get with AF but feel so tired so not sure if it's because of that. I haven't been sleeping too well for the past 2 nights either.

I have decided I'm not looking into any of my symptoms anymore and am just going to wait until OTD. I do want to know if it's worked but also at the same time I don't.

Positivity86 · 20/02/2019 08:40

@Ginger951 you are still so early, please don't give up hope yet! Our clinic did our test on 10 days past transfer and warned us it would probably be negative even if we were pregnant! As it was, the line was v faint. Try again in a few days xx

Ginger951 · 20/02/2019 08:42

@brighteye3986 i will give it two days and test again. But I've given up all hope now. 13dpo I should be seeing something by now but there wasn't even the faintest of lines. I had bad pains on my right hand side last night and I've had terrible hot flushes over night last 2 night's.
Just feeling so gutted. I know we have 3 frosties but I don't know if i want to do this anymore. Feels like it will never happen.

miamiibiza · 20/02/2019 09:09

Don't give up hope @Ginger951

It's still really early xx

Ginger951 · 20/02/2019 14:52

So confused. :( 8dp5dt. I just don't understand what is going on. Used a frer this morning and nothing. But I've been reading and some people seem to think your boobs can stop being as sore when your hormones drop as all the drugs leave your system.
Some have gotten their positives at only 5dp5dt and others haven't gotten a bfp till 14dp5dt. The achey/pain on my low right side is getting more intense, last night it was so bad I couldn't get comfortable to sleep.
Both me and hubby have given up all hope now. I know it's still early but I was so sure we would see something by now, for a normal cycle I would be due my period now.

brighteye3986 · 20/02/2019 15:29

@Ginger951 did you do a fresh or FET cycle? If fresh- don't forget your body has had lots of drugs pumped into and is tricking you body into all sorts of things. Normal cycle I'm on day 30 but last cycle was 37 days also as we have done IVF everything will be delayed.

Please don't give up hope and do test again on your OTD as it can change.

brighteye3986 · 20/02/2019 17:47

I'm feeling so hormonal today. I just want to curl up and cry 😭

OP posts:
Ginger951 · 20/02/2019 17:54

@brighteye3986 it's was a fresh cycle. I've lost count of what cycle day im on now, but my luteral phase is normally around 12 days.
I have tried to reassure myself that its still possible, that all the drugs could have delayed things.

Anyone who has had OHSS what was/is the pain like? I keep getting pain low down on the right side of my pelvis. Comes and goes but it's constant when it's there, lasting a few hours at a time and affects the low right of my back only. Is it my right ovary? Not getting any pain on my left side.

Ginger951 · 20/02/2019 17:55

@brighteye3986 i had many days at the start where I felt like that. Only cure I found was to have a good cry, get it all out and then u feel a lot better. Literally crying the hormones out.

brighteye3986 · 20/02/2019 17:59

@Ginger951 I have my fingers crossed for you. The drugs really do make your body do all different things. I remember my nurse telling me not to test early due to the drugs. I know you should be 13dpo but it can happen so don't give up just yet. I only know what CD I'm on because I track it on an app and have done since 2015, which led me to think there was an issue when my cycles could range from 26 to 45 days.

Last night and today I've just felt AF is coming... I'm not even 100% sure that's possible when taking progesterone.... I just feel like I want to cry but we are going out for dinner soon so will probably come back and just curl up and cry after- if not I'm sure the crying will come tomorrow.....

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 20/02/2019 19:50

@Ginger951 I'm recovering from OHSS and from what you've said it doesn't sound like it, but do get checked out if you're worried as everyone is different. Mine started with extreme bloating followed by severe pain all over the tummy area where the fluid was gathering. I could barely walk and was short of breath x

Positivity86 · 20/02/2019 19:51

@brighteye3986 feeling like AF is coming can be a good sign!

brighteye3986 · 20/02/2019 19:52

@Positivity86 I know. I'm trying not to read too much into anything. Just on the week countdown now until OTD.

How are you feeling now?

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 21/02/2019 08:13

Fingers are crossed for you @brighteye3986

I'm feeling a bit better day by day thanks. Had to do my first blood thinning injection (Inhixa) this morning and it hurt a little. The needles are bigger than I'm used to!

brighteye3986 · 21/02/2019 08:50

@Positivity86 that's good to hear that you're starting to feel better. But not so good on the needle size....

Today I ache like anything. My pelvic area is killing me. Boobs aren't as sore cramps still coming and going. I've just decided whatever will be, will be.
