Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

@Ginger951 we are hoping that we have 1 or 2 to freeze. Hopefully we will have a few more than that but we will be happy with as many as we can.

Make sure you aren't over doing it. I'm already worrying about going back to work after transfer and I work in an office sitting at a desk all day. I'm a manager and it can sometimes get stressful but I think I'm just going to have to take myself out of the situation if I feel it's getting too much. Luckily my work is quite flexible and I am able to work from home but after having this week off, I feel I need to go back in next week.

@ginger951 I didn’t really feel any different before I tested. I honestly don’t think you can know either way until you test. I also found keeping myself busy with work was a great way of distracting myself! I ended up carrying some heavy things around which isn’t ideal or recommend, but probably won’t do too much harm if it’s what your body is used to.

Positivity86 · 15/02/2019 08:45

Thank you for the congratulations, it hasn't really sunk in yet! ! Had to POAS at 5am this morning to check I wasn't dreaming!

@Ginger951 I only felt different in the 2WW because I developed late OHSS but otherwise, my only real symptom was (and still is) mild cramping every now & again which feels just like period pain. Try not to worry, I honestly don't think going about usual daily life affects the outcome.

@brighteye3986 great news and best of luck for your ET tomorrow!

@Rememberallball wow twins! What a blessing x

womaninkent · 15/02/2019 15:42

@positivity86 congratulations!!! What a lovely valentines present!

womaninkent · 15/02/2019 16:44

@brighteye3986 very best of luck for tomorrow!

brighteye3986 · 15/02/2019 16:47

Thanks @womaninkent I'm getting a little nervous now as this is pretty much the final hurdle.... also have no idea how to prepare myself for tomorrow.... I feel like there should be things I'm doing or things I need to take but I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing.

@brighteye3986 compared with everything you've done so far tomorrow really is the easy bit. They are telling the truth when they say it is just like a smear test. Then you can come home and have a nice day of rest-the perfect day to watch a boxset or catch up on a load of tv. So far as I can remember you don't need to take anything.

brighteye3986 · 15/02/2019 16:53

Ahh thanks @womaninkent that makes me feel more at ease. Luckily DH will be coming with me so I'm happy with that too. Looking forward to finding out their grading and how many we will have left to freeze too.

@brighteye3986 like @womaninkent says transfer is easy in comparison to everything else. Socks are the only thing u need. Oh and if they say have a full bladder don't have a very full bladder like me. Thought I was going to explode and still didn't get to see the transfer done because of a combination of a very uncomfortable bladder and a very tilted uterus.
I've got everything crossed for you tomorrow! Let us know how you get on.

brighteye3986 · 16/02/2019 07:16

@Ginger951 thanks. Yes I have to have a comfortably full bladder. We have around a 20-30 min drive and always leave an hour before appts so was thinking I will drink on the way to the hospital and then hopefully won't be bursting! It's scary that the day is finally here... although I had a terrible nights sleep as my smoke alarm battery decided to start beeping at 4am! I managed to get back to sleep though. I think we will be stopping at the shop on the way for some new batteries...

So we are waiting for transfer but have just spoken with the embryologist and they will be transferring a BA that is already hatching with 3 more ready to be frozen and a possible 2 more that are a little behind. They were all AA/ AB/ BA. The BA being put back is the biggest one and I'm guessing as it's already hatching has a better chance....

That's it! I'm officially PUPO and in my 2ww! Transfer was graded as a 1 which means it was easy and straightforward! Now time to go home and rest- although currently sat in a traffic jam....

Ginger951 · 16/02/2019 12:09

@brighteye3986 that's a great result and plenty of frosties as well! Welcome to the 2ww!
How u feeling about it all? I'm still as nervous and anxious as I was on the transfer day! Time feels like it's dragging.
Doesn't help that my little sister had her 12 week scan for her second yesterday. Want to know if I will be joining her or not.

womaninkent · 16/02/2019 12:10

Great news @brighteye3986
Enjoy your nice day of rest!

brighteye3986 · 16/02/2019 12:16

Thanks @womaninkent and @Ginger951

I feel fine. It's feels a bit strange knowing I could be pregnant!

Oh @Ginger951 I have my fingers crossed for you. When is your OTD? I know that feeling. I remember my sister announcing her 4th pregnancy when we had been trying for a year and had nothing. Luckily we have our wedding anniversary on Wednesday to look forward- 3 years of marriage and 9 years together

Positivity86 · 16/02/2019 12:32

Great news @brighteye3986 ! Enjoy being PUPO! A hatching blasto is what we had too and it worked 😊

@Ginger951 2ww is hard isn't it!! when is your official test day?

brighteye3986 · 16/02/2019 17:23

Thanks @Positivity86 I have everything crossed this works.

Now is the struggle of trying not to symptom spot everything! I think I'm going to find that worse than not being able to test....

OP posts:
Ginger951 · 16/02/2019 18:04

@brighteye3986 the need to test is so bad! I know it's still way to soon and the trigger shot is still in my system.
@Positivity86 official test day is the 25th but I won't last the long! Thinking I will test on Wednesday, will make me 15 days since my trigger and 8dp5dt. Can't believe it's only been 4 days since the transfer. Feels like it been ages already!
What makes it extra tempting is my sister tested at 9dp and got her positive! I know it's a very unusual thing but makes me wonder if she can get an answer that soon why can't I. And she only tested because she had a dream about being pregnant!

Rememberallball · 16/02/2019 21:07

Great news @brighteye3986. To give you some hope, one of my expected twins was a hatching 5BA and the other was a 4AB!!

Positivity86 · 17/02/2019 08:05

@Ginger951 time drags so much in the 2WW doesn't it! Keep us posted and best of luck x

brighteye3986 · 17/02/2019 19:31

How's everyone doing?? We had a nice day out at the coast today to get us out the house. I go back to work tomorrow after a week off... not looking forward to that.

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 18/02/2019 13:44

@brighteye3986 that sounds nice, hope going back to work today was ok...hopefully the wait will go quick for you!

I've been signed off work for another week due to OHSS and have been put on blood thinning injections until I'm 8 weeks to decrease the risk of blood clots, due to the fluid in my pelvis. Thought I was done with injections 🙈

brighteye3986 · 18/02/2019 14:02

Oh no @Positivity86 that's not good. Make sure you rest up. I read that OHSS can get worse in pregnancy before it gets better. Sorry I know that's not what you want to hear. Hopefully you are on the path to recovery now though

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 18/02/2019 17:31

Thanks @brighteye3986. Yes it was implantation that caused it and the clinic said i might have it for weeks (!!) but I think I've turned a slight corner today. Rest is definitely helping!

brighteye3986 · 18/02/2019 17:59

@Positivity86 that's good to hear. I just looked at the article thing I read about it and it said symptoms should start to get better within 7-10 days... hopefully you are getting to near that point now. And anyway by the time you give birth you will have forgotten all about this part 🤣
