Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

Thanks @Ginger951 I still can't believe it. Going to test again tomorrow just to make sure as even being a day early doesn't seem real and feels like it can change. I'm sure that being a digital test it's real as they don't seem to have the same sensitivity as the early tests etc.

@brighteye3986 i don't blame u! I would be testing every other day out of disbelief.
But like u say the digital ones tend to be more sensitive so I think this is a definite bfn. U must have been smiling all day!

brighteye3986 · 26/02/2019 16:46

@Ginger951 it's actually been really difficult as I don't want to tell anyone just yet. And especially since OTD is tomorrow so can't ring the hospital until then!

So as today is OTD decided to retest and got this

@womaninkent I have a little question.... once you called up and told the clinic your result what happens next? I have enough cyclogest until Sunday... do I just need to go the GP to get more or did they provide you with a further supply as part of your treatment? Also do I now need to register with a midwife to get that ball rolling too? I haven't phoned them yet so I'm sure they will tell me all this but just trying to get my head around everything. I've been up since 4 and my GP has an online booking service so I have booked an appointment for Friday afternoon in case I need to get the cyclogest from them....

@brighteye3986 Just seen your truly wonderful news, it truly feels surreal when you seen that second line!!!
When I phoned my clinic they booked my in for a viability scan for 6.5weeks and posted me out my prescription for the drugs I needed to keep me going till my scan date.
The reason they posted it was because we live about 1 hour away and are paying privately anyway. I just took the prescription to our local chemist who ordered it in for me, only took one day.

I have not spoken to my GP yet, I think unless you have a history of reoccurant miscarriage they will not scan you as early as the clinic anyway.

I actually have my 6.5week scan today so will report back.
I am so excited, but also so nervous! xxx

brighteye3986 · 27/02/2019 08:08

Thank you @PostiveThinkingRainbow it is still sinking in. It seems more real now that I have seen the 2 lines too.

I have read that you should get on to antenatal care as soon as possible as they want to see you between 8-10 weeks and some of the things they check need to be checked before you reach the 10week mark?!

I have phoned my clinic this morning and left a message. Hopefully someone will call me back this morning and I can ask them the questions..... and I thought with my GP appt if I booked it when I saw it I can always cancel it if I don't need it.

Oh this stuff is so confusing.....

Hi @brighteye3986. congratulations-so exciting when you see the second line!! I called the clinic on the day I found out. I had to drop into the clinic to get enough cyclogest to keep me going until just after my gp appointment. I then booked a gp appointment (not sure if I was supposed to but I rang up my clinic and told them i was pregnant and that’s what they arranged). The gp gave me a prescription for cyclogest up until 12 weeks. You might want to bear in mind that (1) I understand some gps can be a bit funny about giving the prescription (mine was fine-I just showed him the packet I had and the advice from the clinic to take it to 12 weeks) (2) it might take a while for the pharmacist to actually have the cyclogest in (boots had to order it in for me so I had to wait a couple of days). It might be best to assume you’re going to need to get another pack from the clinic if you only have enough to Sunday.

brighteye3986 · 27/02/2019 08:28

Thanks @womaninkent

I have just spoken to the clinic and arrange to collect some cyclogest tomorrow. I asked about the antenatal care etc and she advised me to call my GP and get some advise. I have my scan booked in although just looked at DH's shifts and now realise I'm going to need to change the time so he can be there too.

@brighteye3986 when’s your scan? I think waiting for mine has been almost as bad as the 2WW (sorry!)

brighteye3986 · 27/02/2019 08:49

@womaninkent they have booked mine in for the 21st so I will be 7+3 I think. I'm just patiently or rather impatiently waiting for them to call me back so I can change the scan time. Then I'm going to ring my GP. I think I might keep my appt for Friday anyway....

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 27/02/2019 12:53

Waiting for the first scan is torture! Mine is on 12 March and I'll be 7+6.

@PostiveThinkingRainbow hope your scan goes well today x

brighteye3986 · 27/02/2019 13:09

It's all exciting stuff though @Positivity86 and @womaninkent

I have sent off my referral for my antenatal care as I rang my GP and that's what they advised. I have also managed to reschedule my scan for a later time meaning DH can come with me for reassurance. I'm sure that will make it all real then!

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 27/02/2019 17:57

Just got back from our first scan at the clinic, officially 6weeks and 6 days.
To our surprise not one but two sacs and two heart beats.... in shock as twins it is

PostiveThinkingRainbow · 27/02/2019 18:01

Nurse advised to get in touch with GP tomoz and need to get in the system.
So waste no time ladies

brighteye3986 · 27/02/2019 18:06

Anyone having issues with sleep? Every day this week I've been up at 4am. Can't get back to sleep and when I finally doze off my alarm goes off! It doesn't matter what time I got to bed either....

OP posts:
womaninkent · 28/02/2019 08:42

@brighteye3986 definitely! Usually caused by having to get up in the night to go to the toilet.

brighteye3986 · 28/02/2019 08:47

@womaninkent I've been having to get up around 2 and then 4 but after the 4am wake up I just can't back to sleep. This morning started dozing off again about 5.20 and my alarm goes off at 5.45.... sooo tired and then once I'm up I just have constant morning sickness although I have brought some travel sick bands this morning on my way to work so am hoping that they will start to kick in soon.

Have you had your scan yet @womaninkent?

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 28/02/2019 09:48

@brighteye3986 I've been suffering with nausea for the past few days and I find it helps to not allow yourself to get hungry or be too full because then it's worse! Eat little and often and before getting out of bed helps x

brighteye3986 · 28/02/2019 10:01

@Positivity86 that's what I'm trying to do. I went shopping on my way to work today and bought lots of little nibbles to keep me going through the day.

How are you feeling now? Has you OHSS calmed down now?
