Hi everyone, so we saw the nurse earlier this week and our plan has been set. We are on long protocol and will be looking at starting on my December cycle meaning that I will be due to start buserelin around 6th jan with EC being end of Jan.

Anyone else looking at a December/ January cycle?

I'm getting my meds on Friday too but not starting until I get my AF at end of the month. Must make some room in my tiny fridge for it all!

jemimafuddleduck · 14/11/2018 21:45

Thanks all!

@Saltisford hope your appointment goes well. It's so nice to know what's happening and when!

@rosea19 mine is all to be stored at room temp thankfully 😁

Saltisford · 14/11/2018 21:55

@rosea19 - do they give you all your meds at once? Do they defo need to go in the fridge? Mine’s tiny!

@jemimafuddleduck - good luck to you too and keep us posted on progress!!

Wesstywoo · 14/11/2018 21:58

@saltisford menopur has to go in the fridge - my whole top shelf is full!

Justwaitingforaline · 14/11/2018 22:13

Can I join please? We are doing egg sharing IVF/ICSI so I’ll be donating half of my eggs to someone. Unclear if IVF or ICSI currently as DH’s last SA ( Male factor infertility) was so much better than ever before so we may be able to just do IVF. Medical consult next Thursday with a plan to start down regging and taking contraceptives in line with my next period which should be around the 10th December!

jemimafuddleduck · 14/11/2018 22:46

Hi @Justwaitingforaline, welcome!

Thank you for donating your eggs, you are helping someone like me 😁 I feel so much gratitude towards my donor ❤️

brighteye3986 · 15/11/2018 06:40

Welcome @Justwaitingforaline looks like we will be starting around the same time. My next period is when I will be starting my cycle so around the 15th with injections starting early January.

@Saltisford all my meds are stored at room temp so currently sat in a drawer waiting for me to start as I've had them since beginning of November but can't start until my next period. I think it depends on your bloods etc and where the fertility issues lie with what protocol and meds you get. I will be on buserelin and gonal-f. Although I knew I'd have to inject I was a little surprised at how long the injections last for. I have to take buserelin from day 21 until they tell me to stop and then from around day 28 ( of a normal cycle) have to start taking gonal-f along with it. One in the morning and one in the evening. Luckily DH is already preparing himself for my moods to be all over the place. In all fairness they're not that great as it is, so I've already wished him luck!

Hi ladies. Wondering if I can jump in and join the conversation.
Our clinic closes down over Christmas so sadly we are having to wait till after, however we go and collect all the drugs etc on the 19th Dec. Looking to start them on the 7th jan, which should mean EC around the last week of jan/first week of Feb.

So glad to finally have a plan and a date! Absolutely terrified at the same time! I hate needles and the EC is filling me with dread!
Not telling anyone we are finally going for treatment, can't bear to be watched anymore than we already are. Only down side is it makes the process very lonely.

jemimafuddleduck · 15/11/2018 12:32

Hi @Ginger951 - we are also not telling anyone. It's the right thing for us, but SO tough, so I understand how you feel x

rosea19 · 15/11/2018 21:36

@Saltisford I only have to put half the medication in the fridge. Problem is my DH is diabetic so it already has loads of his meds in there!

I'm also scared of needles but have been having acupuncture, so feel like I'm getting used to them now. Although it's not quite the same I guess. Smile

jemimafuddleduck · 18/11/2018 21:50

I start on my meds tomorrow at 7am! Tablets 2 x per day and nasal spray 5 x per day. I'm excited, nervous, apprehensive...

How are you all doing?

brighteye3986 · 19/11/2018 06:06

Good luck @jemimafuddleduck fingers crossed it all goes well for you.

I'm doing ok. A little bit annoyed that I have to wait until my December cycle to start as I've literally just started on my current cycle but I understand why I've got to wait. But I'm almost there now- my next cycle is the one!

Hello! First timer here. We're starting IVF soon with egg collection currently planned for 9th Jan. Had originally thought would have started last cycle but due to Christmas opening hours had to delay by a month.

We're at Salisbury. Is anyone else having / had theirs done there? :)

brighteye3986 · 20/11/2018 20:37

Welcome @Vikkidouglas. Good luck in your cycle.

I'm having my treatment in Kent.

Ginger951 · 21/11/2018 09:20

Good luck!
You will have to let us know how bad the side effects are, it's all my doc keeps telling me. Keep hoping it can't be that bad surely!

jemimafuddleduck · 21/11/2018 15:53

@Ginger951 I'm on day 3 of meds and so far I feel no different... but it is only day 3 soooo 🤷‍♀️

Saltisford · 22/11/2018 17:59

Hello everyone I’m back. We had our information session today and we’re starting on roughly 4th Jan with a short protocol - not sure why? We’re going to collect our medication after Christmas so there’s room for the turkey in the fridge! X

Justwaitingforaline · 22/11/2018 20:59

Hey all, we had our medical consult today and are officially starting our egg sharing ICSI! I left the clinic with my contraceptive pill so i can sync my cycle with the egg recipient. I think we’re looking to start meds’ in January when the clinic has reopened after Christmas!

brighteye3986 · 22/11/2018 21:15

That's great news @Justwaitingforaline and @Saltisford

@Saltisford we will be starting meds around the same time! I had a normal cycle this month at 28 days which I haven't had for almost a year so hoping next month is very similar which would then put us as starting on the 4th also. I'm on a long protocol though. I think the protocol is dependant on the fertility issue and clinic.

The best thing about things happening after Christmas is that we won't be extra hormonal from meds and can enjoy our Christmas!

OP posts:
Saltisford · 22/11/2018 22:30

Wooo! It’s all happening for us now! I asked about alcohol and she said one or two is fine but none once the injections begin so I guess we can enjoy Christmas a little! X

Boboelephant · 25/11/2018 14:00

Hi all, hoping I can join. Our clinic also shuts down over Christmas so looking to start in Jan after December cycle. First time IVF so no idea what to expect but I'm desperately hopeful that this will work. 🤞🤞 Good luck to all of you!

Positivity86 · 28/11/2018 21:52

Hi everyone, I’m new here and hope it’s ok to join Smile I wanted to connect with other people on similar journeys. We had our consultation today for our first round of IVF and I’m due to start down regulation injections at the end of December, which is day 21 of my next cycle. Praying for New Year miracle! Hope everyone is doing ok? X

brighteye3986 · 29/11/2018 06:05

Hi @Boboelephant and @Positivity86

Good luck to you both on your IVF journeys.

Hello everyone :) I'm due to start IVF at some point, no idea when.
It's been 3 years and 6 months of Clomid, but no luck. I'm 33 and don't ovulate properly.

My first appointment with the fertility nurse is next week. We have had all out blood tests and swabs, etc done, but not sure what's next. What happened at your first IVF appointment?

Pleased to finally join an IVF thread! Never thought I would say that but I've always known I would need it (just intuition).
