Hi there,

Anyone else doing IVF this month? I’ve had 2 weeks of Buserelin, and just started the oestrogen tablets today. I’ve never known time to go so slowly before. 😬😂

FET planned for end of August.

I’ve been a hormonal wreck. Got AF this weekend, plus all the extra hormones, and the other half doesn’t know what to do with me - or himself! Ha Ha.

Would be nice to connect with others going through IVF at the moment. x

Thank you lovely ladies. I’m really struggling at the moment, but I’m sure I’ll find a way through this. It’s practically 4 years to the day since my last loss (a ruptured ectopic), and ironically, just like last time, I have a lot of close friends due over the next few months, so I’m currently feeling an overwhelming sense of deja vu.

StillLikeAirIRise · 27/09/2018 20:17

Cariad it's completely understandable that you're struggling at the moment, this would be a terrible time in isolation without it bringing back previous experiences as well. I don't have your experiences of loss but I very much identify with the pain of watching everyone else get pregnant and have eleventy billion babies whilst my husband and I watch on at the sidelines.

The only strategy I've managed to develop for myself is to avoid social media at the worst times and keep reflecting on what I do have with the mantra "comparison is the thief of joy". To be honest though, we all know nothing works on the worst days, I truly hope you can find something to help you manage until your next scan xx

CatRen27 · 28/09/2018 02:48

I'm so sorry for your anxiety over the scan cariad, that must be really hard. Particularly with babies and pregnancies all over the place. Sorry if you've said, but what's the next step? Another scan? Are they taking bloods? I bet all you want is confirmation either way and sitting in this limbo must be awful. Thinking of you and really hoping for the best xx

Thund4rcat · 28/09/2018 06:27

So despite yesterday's OTD bringing a very very faint positive, today I did a first response early result test and got a BFN. Gutted. Guess it must have been the tail end of a chemical pregnancy showing up yesterday.

Phoning clinic later but expect next step is surgery to remove cervical polyp and a laparoscopy to see if I have endo.

I am feeling more resilient than I expected.

Cariad2017 · 28/09/2018 07:25

So sorry to hear about your BFN Thund4rcat. Small consolation I know but it does sound like you had a chemical, which at least means you CAN get pregnant, which I understand increases the likelihood of future cycles working. I’m glad you have a plan. It all sounds very sensible. Look after yourself. I hope you manage a nice, relaxing weekend.

Cariad2017 · 28/09/2018 07:42

Thank you for your kind words ladies. CatRen - the consultant was very dismissive of HCG (I suspect it has its place (e.g. in diagnosing ectopic pregnancies if they’re struggling to find the pregnancy on a scan and in telling you whether you’re pregnant in the first place)), but I get the sense that there are so many variations from person to person that unless it’s dropping/ not increasing significantly over time, it might not tell you a huge amount about miscarriage.

The upshot of all this is that the next step is another scan next Wednesday. For what it’s worth, I did another Clearblue Digi this morning at 5+3 and got a 3+ so I know my HCG is rising (albeit perhaps more slowly than I would have hoped), but I’m guessing that could well be consistent with a missed miscarriage, so we’ll see...

CatRen27 · 28/09/2018 21:40

Keep us posted cariad I'm so sorry you're going through this. And hope your dh is around for lots of hugs xx

CatRen27 · 28/09/2018 21:51

So i just tried 4 times to post a photo here and it's not working so I'll just spit it out now. I just did a stupidly early test. I'm only bloody 4dp5dt. I know I know anything can go wrong from here. But there's a second line. Even dh can see it. 😬😯

Botanica · 28/09/2018 22:00

Wow that's amazing @Cat!!!
Do try again to post the photo!

Did you have any symptoms? Did you have a gut feeling it was going to be positive?

That must have been quite quick to implant!

Cariad2017 · 28/09/2018 22:06

That’s amazing news CatRen. Enormous congratulations! 💕💕💕💕

Botanica · 28/09/2018 22:13

@Cariad2017 how are you doing today?

CatRen27 · 28/09/2018 22:48

Thanks cariad and botanica.

I don't have any symptoms whatsoever although tingly boobs have started today.. but let's face it that could be psychosomatic and I tend to get it before af so just the progesterone talking! I did have a feeling, like being relieved it's out of my control. As i said it could all go to pot so I'll quit being so smug about it until i get the bloods done next Friday. That's almost a week away! Jeeeeeeesus..

CatRen27 · 28/09/2018 23:14

Here we go, trying for the thousandth time!

Cariad2017 · 28/09/2018 23:27

That’s definitely a line. Sending sticky vibes your way CatRen.

CatRen27 · 29/09/2018 10:40

Argh I've just been at a friend's for lunch and was horsing about with two 3 year olds on the floor. Now I'm in loads of pain, like period pain. Shit. I hope I haven't overdone it and messed this all up. 😫

Botanica · 29/09/2018 11:42

It may be further implantation @CatRen. Try not to worry.

When do you think you might do your next test to see if it's getting stronger?

CatRen27 · 29/09/2018 12:07

Thanks botanica I've had a rest for a few hours on the sofa and it's subsided. I'll test again probably daily (fmu) until the blood test, so we'll see. Turns out a faint line at this stage isn't much of a relief..! How are you getting on?

CatRen27 · 29/09/2018 22:04

Confirmed on a digital this morning. 😬

Thund4rcat · 29/09/2018 22:15

Congrats @Catren27!

CatRen27 · 30/09/2018 01:48

Thanks thund4r. I called the clinic to see if my blood test could be brought forward, and was told off by the clinic this morning for testing too early 😆 whoops.

How's everyone else getting on?

snowfee · 30/09/2018 08:13

Congrats @CatRen27 !!

YetAnotherThing · 30/09/2018 09:26

Congrats @catren

Have been lurking on this thread and have a question (desperate hope really). OTD is tomorrow, but I couldn't face testing on a Monday morning and rushing out to work. So I cracked, and tested this morning 13dp3dt and got a BFN. I used a test in the cupboard, a brand called Answer and can't see what sensitivity is on packaging. I am fully prepped for BFN tomorrow but wondered if any hope for test showing up positive on OTD. Do 3 day embies take longer to implant? Any thoughts?

Botanica · 30/09/2018 09:56

@YetAnotherThing I'm sorry to hear you had a BFN this morning.

Embryos take 6-10 days to implant I understand, so a 3day one would start 3-7 days after transfer and a 5day one 1-6 days after transfer.

It then takes a few days after implantation for them to start kicking out sufficient HCG to be detectable.

This is a useful day by day description, but it could vary from person to person.

CatRen27 · 04/10/2018 00:47

Hi yetanotherthing how are you getting on? Sorry you got a bfn, has that changed? Let us know how you get on and look after yourself 🍰

CatRen27 · 07/10/2018 10:20

Seems I spoke too soon, everything's coming back negative now so I've had a chemical. Really gutted. 😔
