Hi all, I’ve only just come across this website. Wishing you all the best in your journeys!

I’m under IVI Cheshire too and have embryos frozen. I’ve had to have a break between egg collection and transfer because I developed over stimulation syndrome quite badly and ended up being admitted to the Countess.

I’ve now fully recovered and am looking to go back for my first transfer attempt. I’m have a stimulated transfer as my cycle is all over the place since egg collection.
Has anyone else had a stimulated/medicated transfer? I was wondering what the timescales were? I’m having my second scratch and an injection on 28th Dec but don’t know that the stage after that is?

Any advice/experience would be really appreciated

X

wanab · 08/12/2018 10:25

I'm afraid my first transfer was natural. I may be having a medicated one in new year so won't be far behind you. I have my follow up on tuesday

LHA27 · 08/12/2018 10:32

Oh okay, perhaps they’ll tell you a bit more about the process then. Good luck xxx

wanab · 11/12/2018 18:30

@LHA27 i’m actually trying natural again as the embryo did implant before I lost it. If this fails may try medicated for the next attempt. I’ll be transferring approx mid jan if periods etc go to plan.

LHA27 · 11/12/2018 23:24

Thank you for updating me. Sorry to hear you lost your last one :( I’ve got
My fingers and toes crossed for your next attempt. xxx

wanab · 12/12/2018 08:07

Thanks @LHA27.it was a chemical pregnancy. Good luck to you. I have a friend who is doing a medicated in jan to transfer in Feb. Are you on facebook at all?

LHA27 · 12/12/2018 09:07

Thank you. Yes I am, is there a fb group?

wanab · 12/12/2018 11:16

@LHA27 there's a few ivf support UK and ivf icsi support uk. I am in a Chester ivf messenger chat group if you want to join it, but you'd have to send me your name.

crisps88 · 16/12/2018 00:28

Hi ladies. How is everyone doing ? How is their progress?

How are you getting on @wanab? As well as can be expected I hope.

Xxx

wanab · 16/12/2018 14:32

Hi @crisps88 . Thanks for asking. I'm doing fine. Once the hormones wore off I put my logical head back on and am preparing for another natural transfer in January. Also having a few drinks with the fam over Xmas in the meantime. We always knew ivf in itself was a long shot and I am higher risk of miscarriage because of the pco. I'm glad it was not further down the line, as disappointing and upsetting as it was.x

crisps88 · 16/12/2018 21:17

@wanab enjoy yourself , you’ve had such a rough ride and my heart goes out to you and your partner. It’s so hard not to sentimental about what you’re going through and your strength is a testiment. Take care of yourself. X x

Hi, I have been to see Prof Kingsland at Royal Preston and he has referred me to St Mary’s. in my initial appointment I was told could be referred to manchester, Liverpool or Chester.. does anyone know the criteria and why he picked Manchester, I have low AMH and my partner low sperm count. Any advice would be really helpful :-)

wanab · 17/12/2018 17:35

Not sure. It may be they have skills in dealing with a specific health situation or perhaps to do with waiting lists. I was given a choice of where my go referred me to which was great.

Charliechalk123 · 17/12/2018 19:40

Ohh great, where did you go? Could I ask what stage you are at? we are at the beginning, so nice to read other peoples views and stories, makes you feel like you are not alone x

wanab · 17/12/2018 20:01

I chose Chester as it is my nearest and I didn't want to have a long drive for appointments which would have also meant I needed longer off work. I had a freeze all as had high amh and got 31 eggs. 18 made it to freeze. I've had one frozen transfer which resulted in a chemical pregnancy and am having another in January.

crisps88 · 17/12/2018 22:50

We weren’t given a specific choice, Chester was not our nearest but it was recommended more due to the equipment rather than women’s at Liverpool.

I am due for my AMH bloods Thursday as they are private tests due to our PCT not funding them.

We have been referred, had our PIE and now have our first IVF appointment 7th January. Not sure what cycle we will be on, and we aren’t sure what to expect from the appointment.

I started Zita West’s accupuncture with an affiliated clinic on Saturday.

Hope any of this helps 😃

Charliechalk123 · 18/12/2018 07:39

Ohh so things are starting to move quite quickly, good luck xx What is PIE? Sorry I am still learning :-) when I had my appointment, Professor Kingsland said I might not be accepted on the NHS because of my AMH being low, but referred me to Manchester to see.. has anyone had this before? Do you think I could have my first consultation and then be told not we cannot have on the NHS?

crisps88 · 18/12/2018 08:04

Patient information event, this is where you get all your information and consent forms. It is quite generic information but helpful.

Things moved really quickly for us in terms of being referred for IVF, but the information event we had to wait 8 weeks for.

It seems this first appointment is where they will decide what cycle you go on and when. I asked the nurse and she said it would be a start of cycle day 16, but I’m not sure of the regulations.

As I say, I haven’t had my AMH yet it’s thursday and it is only recommended we get this not mandatory as it needs to be privately funded but I know nearly all other PCTs offer this free so you’ve all had your results and then it depends on this as to what treatment you have.

I’ve not heard of this as surely you’re going through the motions and the actual appointments so why would they do that? But your criteria must be different maybe?

Good luck xxx

Bev10 · 18/12/2018 08:17

Hi everyone,
I'd definitely recommend Chester IVI, all the nurses and doctors are lovely and really seem to care about your outcome.
They seem to use all the latest technology aswell which if paying privately would be extras.
I had to have an amh test as my fsh level was slightly higher than the levels that they'll accept for free nhs ivf. All was fine though as it came back at 12.8 and that was ok to go ahead with the treatment.

We are currently 3 days away from taking a pregnancy test to see if our first cycle has worked. We only got 4 eggs collected but all for fertilised and 2 made it to the 5 day blastocyst stage, so 1 was transferred and 1 is frozen.

It's a crazy time but just going with it and what will be will be.

Good luck to you all x

wanab · 18/12/2018 09:38

Good luck @Bev10. I caved 8dp as I was having period symptoms and wasn't using pessaries. Well done for holding out. X

Charliechalk123 · 18/12/2018 11:08

Good luck with everything, keep us updated on your journey, really hope it is positive for you.
My AMH came back at 3.2 which is quite low I think, maybe this was the reason.
There are so many questions I have now, but at the time it was a shock and my mind went blank, I wasn’t really expecting it.
I had been two weeks previously and they thought the reason was my partners sperm count was low.
Hopefully I will get an appointment card soon.
Did you not get accepted through NHS? Thanks :-)

Bev10 · 18/12/2018 11:24

Thanks!
Yes we got it on the nhs thankfully.

crisps88 · 18/12/2018 20:54

So did you guys have compulsory AMH tests? I had a FDH test and I think everything must’ve been fine as we had our Event scheduled after it with no mention of the extra blood work. Only at the event did they say it would help the ivf process in More detail for the drugs?

Super good luck @Bev10 all fingers are crossed for you. X xx
