ivi chester

Anyone any experiences of treatment at ivi chester? Just been referred for IVF there. Told i should have first appointment within 6 weeks!!! Would be great to chat to anyone who's having/had their IVF there too!

@ivfjourney5 How frustrating for you! IVF is hard enough without this thrown into the mix. I hope you can start again soon. I remember eating loads of Brazil nuts and drinking beetroot juice and pomegranate juice as I heard it was good for lining. The things we do!!!xx

@PennyBC26 yes the things we do 😂 I was having a right selection of vitamins and supplements. I tried beetroot juice but I literally couldn't stomach it! I was having a glass of pom juice each day though. We are crazy hey 😂 x

I’ve just heard off another friend that transfers are cancelled for two weeks, but hopeful to continue as normal after that. So sorry you are caught up in it @ivfjourney5. X

I got a call earlier to book a Skype/telephone consultation in 3 weeks time. I usually have Dr Sephton but they said she was off so it's with Dr Wood, he's lovely so I'm pleased with that. Looks like they might have had to shut down then for a couple of weeks. As annoying as it is, it mustn't be easy for them and I guess it is out of their hands, they must be as frustrated as us. Fingers crossed normal service is resumed soon 🤞Had the call today to say that two out of the four we had collected have fertilised, just hope they make it to the freezer now!xx

That's reassuring thanks @wanab and @PennyBC26, hopefully I can start straight away when I bleed as the first lining scan is around day 12, so it'll hopefully work out okay with the timings. I can imagine how frustrating it is for them all, and obviously hope they recover okay! Yes Mr Woods is lovely, as is Vicky! @PennyBC26 I'll keep my fingers crossed for your two! X

I have brilliant news, I start back on the oestrogen tablet today 😍 it's my 4th attempt to actually have a transfer 😂

@ivfjourney5 Yessss!!! That is amazing!!! So pleased all is going ahead for you. I found out today that following the trio stim that I have just done I got a total of 6 embryos...they are no chilling nicely in the freezer for a transfer (all being well) in January. I have got my appointment with Dr Wood soon to discuss it. Meanwhile, I've been googling random things that I convince myself I need to ask Dr Wood about incase anything has been overlooked...please tell me that's normal?! 🤣xx

@PennyBC26 yeyy I'm so glad that the 2 that fertilised made it all the way to the freezer to join the others!! I Google the crap out of everything, I think in every single scan/appointment I mention something that I've read online 🤣 You're totally normal!

Hello all, I'm waiting for my NHS referral to Care Fertility Chester to come through. I'm so anxious. How has everyone found the staff there? I'm dreading the whole thing, but I can see some of you have had success there?

The Staff are lovely. Obviously there’s no guarantees but I can’t fault the staff. It’s taken several frozen attempts for me but now 24 weeks this Friday. Good luck. X

Hi @wanab I've recently had my BFP but it wasn't without a fight as they wanted to cancel my transfer for a fourth time!! I pushed forward and went against their advice to have my transfer and I saw the little heart beat at a private scan on Sunday 😍😍 How are you doing?

@wanab how exciting!! I bet you can't wait now! So happy for you! I'm good thanks, on the progynova getting ready for my FET. Lining scan on Thursday, so transfer won't be too lung away hopefully. Praying it's fourth time lucky for us! The cost of a transfer has gone up, it's now £2000!!xx

Oh wow! Care definitely seems to charge a lot more for most things than IVI :(. With all the drugs I think it's going to be at least 5000 if we ever decide on another FET down the line. Way more than I initially expected. However I am lucky to have had so much funded, and to have had a successful cycle. I am so appreciative of that.
