Top of the waiting list appointment

DH and I have been TTC just over 3 years now. We've had all the preliminary workup done at our small local hospital (HSG, scans, bloods, SA) followed by 6 months of clomid, which didn't work.

At our last post-clomid followup appointment in July we were told the next stage would be referral to James Cook for assisted conception and that we should call them to make an appointment.

When I called, we were immediately offered an appointment for the end of August. I assumed it would be some sort of booking-in/eligibility check and we would then get put on a waiting list for treatment. But i've had all the documents through in the post now, and it turns out it is our 'top of the waiting list' appointment! I'm now a bit excited at the thought that this may all be happening sooner than I thought, but also worried that there has been some kind of mistake/misunderstanding. Are waiting lists not as long as I thought now? Does anyone know how quickly I am likely to move onto treatment? Or what the likely sequence of events will be?

They’re reviewing everyone’s medical notes! I’ve had a phone call from them asking me to go have my thyroxin levels checked at my GP and to then phone them when I’ve done that! X

I havnt heard from Admin team to book in just rang nurse and told me that cant wait for the call. We had injections but not meds we were to start week after lockdown hit i think lv xxx

Aw I’m sure you’ll hear in the next few weeks then... they only rang me because they reviewed my notes and have decided actually they do want me on thyroxin... I wasn’t on it when I last started x

I'm short protocol so I had been booked in for egg collection and were just waiting on my period to start treatment and my period started literally as lock down began so everything was cancelled. Just my luck on timing 🤦‍♀️😂

Spoke too soon! Had a phone call abit earlier asking what date I was booked in for egg collection and roughly when my next period is due which is the beginning of next month. She did say admin were working about anyone and I should expect a phone call within the next couple of weeks possibly within the next week. So happy! X

Yeah hopefully nothing else pops up 🤞 got a prescription of metformin to pick up tomorrow, not looking forward to starting that again 🤢 but it's the slow release this time so I'm hoping it's not as bad as before x

I'm prescribed 1 tablet 3 times a day though? X

I am prescribed 2 a day and take together on a night and my tummy been good . When I took on morning I was ill xxx

Just got a phone call to confirm the dates of my last period and I've been booked in for treatment w/c 12th of October as my next period would fall just before treatement restarts so we are hoping it arrives late for once 😂 x

@Nattx did they say anything about isolating during treatment to you and are you going in for them to show you how to injected. I hope they ring me this week cant wait xxx
