Just thought I'd create a second thread for those following this case.

There is nothing to suggest at all that the police have missed anything and I’m getting incredibly frustrated with the suggestion they have.

Posters understandably don’t necessarily understand the work that goes into a MP enquiry but it’s not an episode of Vera.

Telephome · 05/02/2023 15:58

As if Nicola Bulley's family and friends aren't going through hell already without the added trauma of rancid, rubber necking, guillotine knitters on the internet, speculating, accusing and abusing people under the heading of 'concern and confusion'.

The absolute arrogance and lack of humanity of some people is astounding.

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/nicola-bulley-forensics-lancashire-police-b2276110.html?amp

This was the thing I read about the expert saying he doubts NB went into the river.

As for speculation on her DP's very brief appearance on news reports apparently being suspicious, have people still learned nothing from Christopher Jeffries?

Togoodtobeforgotten · 05/02/2023 16:00

The police have said all the speculation is not helping the family. As for if you would have been the one that found the dog you would have checked the river? Why? The owner could have walked off for a pee behind the bushes or something. Also the posts about her husband and the woman pushing the baby in the buggy are out of order these people are being abused, the husband will be going through absolute hell.

Yes they have searched the house, the police have stated on their breaking news article answers to everything that people are putting forward. There is only one way out that they don't have CCTV for and she would have to climb over a locked gate or something similar.

The river goes out to the Irish sea some parts of the river are deep apparently next to the bench there's a deep water sign from a picture in one of the newspapers. all this speculation in my eyes is giving the family false hope. They will have been through Nicolas phone and looked at her Fitbit tracking information the police aren't daft.

justgettingthroughtheday · 05/02/2023 15:53

Why? Nothing remotely accusatory has been posted at all! People don't understand how she has just vanished.
On the whole people on this thread and the previous one have been very supportive towards the family.
I don't think it's unreasonable that over a week on people are confused and concerned about the police's handling of this case and what may have been missed.

You think it's okay for people say her partner was acting odd? Or the woman who found the dog was odd?

Anon300 · 05/02/2023 15:50

I hope her family never come across this thread. I can understand why the police have told the public to stop speculating.

Me too. Hopefully these threads will be deleted at some point.

Let's hope so.

Zosime · 05/02/2023 16:02

Her friends have also asked people to stop speculating on social media.

LivMumsnet · 05/02/2023 16:04

Afternoon. While we understand folk want to discuss this news story, we cannot allow speculation - and to be clear, by speculation, we mean posts singling out particular individuals and discussing their behaviour in relation to Nicola's disappearance.

We have just deleted another thread for this reason so please bear this in mind when posting. If we have to delete too many posts, we will remove this thread too.

Please bear in mind that the police have asked people not to speculate online - not only because it could complicate the situation but also because it could case real distress to Nicola's loved ones who may read it.

Thanks everyone.

I don't think suggesting aliens falls into your speculation criteria but apologies if it does.
Though I better put my tin hat on.

Bluebellwood129 · 05/02/2023 16:10

There are some very good threads on other sites which highlight just how much confusion there is about this case and how much conflicting information has been reported in the MSM.

Probably not, but I reported it anyway.

This is someone's real life right now, not a bloody soap opera. Fuck off with the 'tin hat' nonsense and have some empathy.

Januarydayss · 05/02/2023 16:13

I read now on Webslouths very interesting point someone else was making in regards of the mobile phone .
Apparently the phone can be full accessed in regards to check what precise time it last time was handled, fingerprinted so they would find all other fingerprints, also they can see if other phones were in close enough. This is strong point really, that’s why they are so sure that she put the phone on the bench herself at 9.20.

It isn't humour, I said I feel like I should be joking. Nothing else makes sense to me. It's really really odd. This is the second odd disappearance case recently.

ofwarren · 05/02/2023 16:17

Thank you for the new post

I didn't say it was humour. I didn't think it was an attempt at humour.

I just found it repulsive- how would you feel if a member of the family was reading your musings on alien abduction, and how 'odd' you find it all?

Bluekerfuffle · 05/02/2023 16:20

I haven’t seen anything that said her phone was found on the ground. Read several times that it was found on the bench with the harness and the lead as on the ground.

Catsandzcocktails · 05/02/2023 16:20

To clarify I feel like I should be joking as it seems a bit out there. Not because I find it funny. I'm not a police detective and I don't know all the facts, but foul play and accidental falling both seem unlikely.

Don't lots of people find it odd? Don't they find it odd?
It's like she disappeared into thin air.
I think I would probably already be wondering the same because it makes no sense.

Bluekerfuffle · 05/02/2023 16:25

In a daily mail article today it says an underwater forensics expert is offering his services to the police to search the river (with much better equipment that can cover 10 miles in a day). Let’s hope they accept his offer.

No, I’m not wondering if Ms Bulley disappeared into thin air as that is not scientifically possible. There is a rational explanation here, but it has yet to be uncovered.

You don't think aliens are scientifically possible?
