Heathcliffscathy · 25/07/2005 21:51

oh but that is the point hmo2...it wasn't 'their' country according to melissa.

Heathcliffscathy · 25/07/2005 21:53

QoQ, just as an aside...i would never have thought we would be so vociferously on the same side in a mn argument...and am pleased at that turn of events...

QueenOfQuotes · 25/07/2005 21:53

I think it's the point reading her 9.09 post where she feels 'we' (presumably white British) are being victimised by "PC" laws.

"all the other barmy laws that we are given to make the minorities feel happt in OUR country. "

Sorry but that's what gets my goat - it's not "our" country - it's theirs too!

mosschops...i don't think i am being unfair....my hackles are up though...how was it out of context...i'm prepared to be persuaded it wasn't meant, but haven't been as yet i'm afraid.

Heathcliffscathy · 25/07/2005 21:57

in the sense that we've argued very very strongly against each other....very strongly....

QueenOfQuotes · 25/07/2005 21:58

"drawn blood"

I would have put it more like "had each other in a critical situation"

I accept that we are a multi-cutural society, that we have all races & all religions living here. Unfortunately, some people don't accept it. Be it that they are british, white, asian, muslim, black, yellow etc etc. I also don't agree with the BNP. We should all live together & respect that we all have different views on life & religion.

I never said they were all white british citizens.

You know what?

I am not a police officer, I did not chase that man, I did not pull that trigger......

We are all in the same boat, sorry for the graphic detail but we could get blown up tomorrow & we are just staging petty arguments & cheap blows at some people who, like you, want to be heard & get their opinion across.

QueenOfQuotes · 25/07/2005 22:00

"I feel victimised that I am not allowed to hold MY religous beliefs in MY country & all because a minority might be offended!"

"MY" country "MY" religious beliefs.......????

look melissa, i'll accept that you're backing away from it frantically....but you were sounding v ugly back there....but if that isn't what you meant (barmy laws: there are none against the things you claim/pc brigade: what, people that value the life of a brasilian visa dodger as highly as a fully paid up british citizen/our country: I happen to believe that everyone that is a citizen, however recent 'owns' this country and that visitors have as much right as we do)...then fine....

kid · 25/07/2005 22:04

HMO2 - I'll meet you there then. If they ask, tell them is 5. Not as if they are going to ask for birth certificates! It might even be on the grass outside the 1 o'clock club. See you there.

Our country as in the people who live here, be them asian, muslim, white british.

My husbands grandparents are Indian, his father was born & raised in India. My husband is therefore of indian desent, as is my DD you really think that I feel it is not mt DH or DD country?

I was trying to point out that, yes as a nation of mixed races we all have a way of making another races feel uncomfortable. How dare you brand me PC or anything else without ever having met me?

I think that I didn't word my original post to well if you all think that. At the end of the day there are extremists everywhere, we are all under threat.
