Deeeja I totally disagree. I too abhor the 'looks' culture, and the pressure that women find themselves under to look a certain way. But to try to suggest that a culture that addresses this by covering up it's women is somehow liberating is weak imo.

I too think that women should be able to walk the streets free of catcalls form builders etc, but to me the way to address this is to teach the builders respect, not to place the reponsibility for male sexual behaviour onto women by asking them to cover up.

It's a problem made by men, let's ask men to stay indoors if they aren't able to watch a woman walk past without shouting obscenities. Let the women walk free and with no shame in their bodies.

They don't make the problem so why should they have to fix it.

I have actually just read a lot of stuff that is making me wonder if porn actually lowers the crime stats - especially sexual crime against women. I know that will go down like a lead balloon, and I am no great fan of porn myself, ebeliev me. But its an intersting hypothesis.
