How utterly utterly heartrending.

OP posts:
HuwEdwards · 16/06/2008 18:04

I know, just unspeakably awful.

Scuff · 16/06/2008 18:05

Their poor, poor mother.

Hulababy · 16/06/2008 18:06

How sad Those poor children. Can't imagine the awful pain thier mum must be feeling.

sfxmum · 16/06/2008 18:06

this kind of story just makes me very very sad.
I do not understand the mentality of a man who does this

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 18:06

i must say i jumped to the same conclusion when i heard the story on the radio but to be fair, nowhere is it written that he did it to spite his wife. don't know why the photo of him in judo gear makes me as well. that poor family, though.

tribpot · 16/06/2008 18:06

I think we'll probably never know why he did it. Revenge, depression, bastardness, the facts remain: a mother has lost two beloved children. And a grandmother has lost her son and grandchildren. It's heartrendingly awful and my whole spirit goes out to that mother, what she must feel tonight to have had two health children taken from her.

Baffy · 16/06/2008 18:08

Horrendous

AitchTwoCiao · 16/06/2008 18:10

yes, tribpot... all i'm saying is that the OP has presented speculation as fact, that's all.

QueenBhannae · 16/06/2008 18:11

How disgusting, those poor babies and the mother left behind

wotulookinat · 16/06/2008 18:11

A very, very sad story. He must have been very unhappy and not thinking straight at all. My sympathies go to the mother of the children.

Moomin · 16/06/2008 18:12

JUst been on the news - neighbour says the dad was saying only last week that he'd rather burn the house rather than give it up to his wife. They were divorcing

OP posts:
Moomin · 16/06/2008 18:13

and yes, I feel like speculating; it's made me so sad and angry. I will retract it if I'm proved wrong.

OP posts:
HuwEdwards · 16/06/2008 18:14

Whether revenge, spite or whatever, there is absolutely no reason on this earth that can excuse what this man has done.

wotulookinat · 16/06/2008 18:15

We don't know the full story about why they were divorcing so we shouldn't really pass judgements.

wotulookinat · 16/06/2008 18:16

Maybe he thinks he will be with his kids forever in the next life.

Moomin · 16/06/2008 18:17

why the hell not??!! two children been murdered and the police have said they are looking for no-one else in connection with the deaths. How on earth can anyone justify why he has done this?

OP posts:
tribpot · 16/06/2008 18:17

No, of course I totally agree about there being no excuse for what was done. How could there possibly be? But this appalling crime has been committed and the mother must live with this now every day, it's heart-breaking

HuwEdwards · 16/06/2008 18:17

It's evil, NOTHING excuses it.

I feel utterly enraged by this.

Moomin · 16/06/2008 18:19

I was reacting to wotulookinat's post of 18:15:21

OP posts:
wotulookinat · 16/06/2008 18:19

You can't justify what he's done at all, but he surely wasn't stable. We don't know the background though.

Nbg · 16/06/2008 18:19

I could be sick reading that.

Just cant begin to imagine what that poor mother is going through right now.

Moomin · 16/06/2008 18:21

OK, but do you know what - I have absolutely no interest in considering his motives / reasons / whatever. My heart goes out to the mother and the two lives cut short through absolutely no fault of their own.

OP posts:
RusselBrussel · 16/06/2008 18:22

Utterly, utterly heartbreaking

Threadwormm · 16/06/2008 18:24

It's possible that he acted through causes rather than motives or reasons -- i.e. that he was ill.

I feel extremely sorry for the whole family.

wotulookinat · 16/06/2008 18:26

Yes you have to feel immense sympathy for the mother of the children.
