Thank you milliways, the article I was talking about was in the mail, but more or less said the same thing, this little girl was overlooked. And admit it or not people judge.
The McCanns = nice hard working married couple, cute little children on a posh family holiday have their child taken and the public out poring of time, money and publicity was vast, the media reported on every little thing and yes there was mud thrown but little of it stuck.
This little girls family live on a run down council estate, her mother lives with a man 10 years younger has 7 children by 5 men and the whole family set up is not your 2.5 children hard working professional couple like the McCanns, it is however you look at it messy.
And if we want to admit it or not the papers showed little interest after the first few days, David Beckham did not pop up on T.V with Shannons face on a T shirt, a fund to help Shannons family was not started, the public were not putting is hand in its pockets for this little girl, She was judged her familys life style was judged mud has been thrown and it has stuck.
This little girl had as much right to be found, to be looked for to be as important as Maddie McCann, but in todays world where so much is based on what you look like where you come from and what you have Shannon became a 2nd class person.
EVERY child has the right to be protected , to be loved, to be kept safe and to be valued, I don't suppose Shannons mother loves her daughter any less then Mrs McCann loves hers so why when two children were missing did one matter more then the other?
It is a sad world, and sadly there are more Shannons then there are Maddies in it, and every single one should count.
