Missing Woman Nicola Bulley 8

Here's the new thread

My phone is playing up. I wrote a FAQ and then it crashed and I lost it all.

I'm also dealing with a child on the spectrum who is bouncing off the walls this evening so I apologise for not being around much.

So it looks like Nicola's car keys were NOT attached to her dogs collar as previously reported or left in her car and they haven't been found.

You'd expect them to have fallen out of her pocket if she fell down an embankment or to have been found on the river bed if she'd fallen in. Depending on how deep her coat pockets were?

Another reason the police should have done a fingertip search in the area (did they?) or at least asked the public to look out for a pair of keys with description as they have could have been thrown somewhere if someone had taken her and thought the car key could have been tracked which is what her DP has been trying to achieve.

Do we know if the police forensically checked the bench? You'd have expected them to remove it if they had? Former policeman in the news today saying it should have been checked for blood splatter which could have been left if someone came up behind her and hit her over the head to knock her out so they could take her. That was my first thought when I read about this case,

They could still do that as there could be some DNA from Nicola left on or to prove she was sitting there?

Horrifying. I dearly hope the family get support to get another team to take over the investigation albeit probably too late.

Also assume car keys had a house key on so hope Paul's got the locks changed.

If I'm going on a walk my keys are in a zipped pocket, every time, without fail.

I was going to say the same, my keys are in a zipped pocket when I'm out with the dog to make sure they can't fall out

First post ever on Mumsnet..
It will be brief, and probably my last too.
I hope it ends well for NB and family.
Meanwhile ... Mumsnet posters seem to have elevated voyeurism, ill informed speculation, obsession and utter fiction to the highest (lowest in reality) level.
I am appalled.
What a forum.

100% ^ I think these threads on NB are pathetic, we ve 35k (min) people crushed to death in Turkey and that thread stopped at 7 pages but a bunch of MNs armchair sleuths, with, quite honestly some bizarre theories & hopeless ideas, have somehow managed to get to 320 pages.... Voyeurism/fiction at its finest.

Remind me what business of yours it is what people choose to discuss?

01R019 · 14/02/2023 18:19

@Alexandra2001 what a shock, people discussing news in the country that effects them. There's much worse things happening daily in other places, than Turkey. So must the people talking about Turkey, refrain incase they offend someone that's in a what you deem a 'worse' situation

01R019 · 14/02/2023 18:20

@Alexandra2001 why are you going through pages and pages of a thread you don't like to find a comment you can quote which was quite far through, instead of extending your help to Turkey. Wasting your time here.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 14/02/2023 18:21

Gah, I’m sick of the media and so called experts stating things as fact that are simply not true. There’s a lady on ITV news (possible Granada reports) now who stated that it was unusual for Willow to be off her lead so that’s suspicious. Not it was not unusual at all as explained I’ve and over again!

DerangedViper · 14/02/2023 18:23

Could I just gently suggest that it's better to keep focussed on Nicola (and not respond to wannabe thread police)?

Thank you for linking the Strava heat map.

There must be a way out at the weir end from the river-hugging bit of path. Because I don't see why enough people would use the path for it to show on a heat map if all you could do was an out-and-back

Renoir56 · 14/02/2023 18:24

I think it's dreadful that people are looking up Emma White's in laws. Stop stalking people!

It comes out back onto the path between the gate and Blackpool Lane.

01R019 · 14/02/2023 18:26

@Renoir56 are the Inlaws not already in TV? Was that not what was said?

Goldpaw · 14/02/2023 18:27

Hi all, since @ofwarren is out today, I've made a new thread for when this ends, and have copied some maps etc over, which I hope you don't mind. Just thought to get them at the start of the thread.

Renoir56 · 14/02/2023 18:28

People have been looking up her father in law and tracking him down. I think that goes to far. This is not a murder mystery.

01R019 · 14/02/2023 18:29

@Renoir56 fairenough, I didn't see anyone attacking him. Just wondering what he does?

pigsinoodies · 14/02/2023 18:35

New thread (thanks @Goldpaw )

She was being very careful, forgive me but I have sent you a DM.

Are you happy to say what these ‘careful’ words were - and we can make our own inference from it if you don’t want to publicly read between the lines?

ofwarren · 14/02/2023 18:52

pigsinoodies · 14/02/2023 16:46

Shamelessly stolen copied from another forum - because it's excellent.

The orange/red lines are a Strava heatmap showing the routes people normally use around there. The Public Right Of Way routes are in white, the star is the bench/gate area and the white arrows are the 'exit routes'.

I'm just catching up with the thread
So people DO cross that stile then?

That path looks very well-used. The path at the side of Rowanwater not used at all.

pigsinoodies · 14/02/2023 19:05

*by Strava users anyway

I just don't get how it's not been mentioned as a potential exit point.
Does the path join back on to the tow path or is there a way to keep following the river?

Interesting that this wasn't investigated immediately after Nicola's disappearance, particularly given the early reports of two fisherman on the river.

We are but was responding to a post on this thread and it's easier to quote here rather than copying it over there.

I have given a very substantial donation to the DEC who are helping in Turkey. It is possible to care about more than one thing.
People on this thread are worried. There is anxiety that she may have been attacked, and her attacker still at large. There is also a more specific concern for her family, especially her young daughters, and hope that she is found soon. Many people on the threads have also been through the traumatic loss of someone close to them.
