Here's the new thread

My phone is playing up. I wrote a FAQ and then it crashed and I lost it all.

I'm also dealing with a child on the spectrum who is bouncing off the walls this evening so I apologise for not being around much.

@Goldpaw & @ImprobablePuffin you sound amazing.

Namecangeonce · 14/02/2023 13:17

'Now you are making things up'. Wow.
Well up here in the NW 30 mins from St Michaels it was. You are the first person I've seen on this thread to be so antagonistic. Rather not engage with you.

Hotcrossbunnowplease · 14/02/2023 13:19

This relates to the previous thread which was full before I could respond. A few people mentioned getting air tags so they can be tracked. Air tags only work if there’s a phone within a few feet of them, if you are out in woods etc then it won’t update your location. It’s useful for tracking a child on a school trip, as an example, as there will be people around with phones. It’s no use on a dog than runs off in fields (I know from experience…)

www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/nicola-bulley-disappearance-search-ditches-b2281797.html Nicola Bulley: Search expert seeks out ditches where body could be hidden

Another article I've just read. Not sure if it's already been posted

Talithalayne · 14/02/2023 13:26

Regarding the keys. I remember reading on here circa 1st Feb I think possibly in a post by CharlotteRose90 that her house keys were attached to the dog's lead or collar. Where did this info come from please? Apologies if wrong about which poster. They said they were from the area.

@Goldpaw & @ImprobablePuffin you sound amazing.

I'm sure @Goldpaw is indeed amazing. I however, muddle through fairly haphazardly.

confounded234 · 14/02/2023 13:28

Nicola's neighbour is the spitting image of her. I literally thought it was Nicola speaking in a video when I saw it.

Peverellshire · 14/02/2023 13:34

They are both blonde ish & petite/similar frames. At a distance, maybe, facially?

@ImprobablePuffin I’ll bet when your kids are grown, ‘haphazard’ is the last word they’ll use to describe you :).

No, no, no - you're amazing! It's me that muddles through... 😆

From the article in the Independent www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/nicola-bulley-disappearance-search-ditches-b2281797.html

“It came as a friend revealed that Mr Ansell had contacted Mercedes to try and track Ms Bulley’s car keys, which a neighbour said she would “definitely” have been carrying at the time she disappeared.”

You would have thought that the police would have done that immediately.

ImprobablePuffin · 14/02/2023 13:44

@Peverellshire thank you for your confidence in me
@Goldpaw we shall be muddlers together x

ImprobablePuffin · 14/02/2023 13:47

@urbanbuddha yes I thought the same when PA said he'd asked Mercedes to track the keys. Why is that his job? Did he decide to do it because the police said they wouldn't or are both PA and the police asking.

We really don't know what the police are doing behind the scenes but from what the public are being told, it looks like it was only PA looking into the key tracking. This obviously may be incorrect

Goldpaw · 14/02/2023 13:52

@Peverellshire Thank you. 😊

PA may have phoned the police and thought to get in touch with Mercedes before they arrived. He may be one of those people who thinks of practical aspects in the face of this sort of thing.

pigsinoodies · 14/02/2023 14:15

Do mercedes have some sort of tracking device in their keys then? Or is this just the signal from the keyless start thing that he thinks can be tracked?

I don't think so. Cars yes, but I can't see how keys are traceable.

The police were, and from what I can tell, still are 100% adamant that she fell in the water. I would doubt very much they'd have bothered chasing down the keys

confounded234 · 14/02/2023 14:26

Looks like keys can't be tracked anyway, galmierlocksmiths.com.au/blog/how-to-track-key-fob-auto-locksmith-bayside

VanGoghsDog · 14/02/2023 14:39

Had the keys been trackable, you'd think the police would want to track them as they might be in the river!

I'm going to say it again - they need some people doing magnet fishing.

First post ever on Mumsnet..
It will be brief, and probably my last too.
I hope it ends well for NB and family.
Meanwhile ... Mumsnet posters seem to have elevated voyeurism, ill informed speculation, obsession and utter fiction to the highest (lowest in reality) level.
I am appalled.
What a forum.

Blimey, imagine being on a forum, only ever posting once, and that's the post.

SnoozyVanWinkle · 14/02/2023 14:55

What a forum indeed.

Clearly it's not for you. We, on the other hand love it.

Biscuit

Ah well done, I was trying to think of a suitable but not too rude response - forgot about the biscuit!

I haven't commented on these NB threads yet. I find them largely informative and I think that the vast majority of posters are sincerely concerned and upset by the disappearance of this poor woman, and especially by the torment her daughters must be going through. I think some posting is a kind of displacement activity, to manage people's anxiety, but there's nothing wrong with that. If the vulnerability of women doesn't create some anxiety in a person - in other women - they are probably in denial at how bad things are.
Wishing all the prolific posters on these threads well and thank you for all the info.
I sincerely hope there is a breakthrough in this case soon. And that those little girls get the care and support they need, and the rest of her loved ones.

LikeTearsInRain · 14/02/2023 15:02

There is something deeply suspicious about the whole thing

I do not trust the police on this one at all.

Something has gone wrong and they are now trying to cover it up or assemble some other trail of evidence to get them to the correct answer and cover their arse
