Purely stupid people. Say one of those idiots found any kind of criminal anything what help exactly would that be to anyone she’s they would have broken and entered and trespassed completely contaminating any crime scene ever. Not just this case.

They were back again tonight. I came across a live.

That's what I saw on twitter
Hopefully because they have a tik tok, the police can find out who they are and arrest them.

Does anyone recall the case of 'Bobbie anne' at a Plymouth bus stop.
She was missing until the male perpetrator walked into a police station to give himself up.
Her phone and earphones were found at the spot she was abducted/ Killed. And her body was found 7 miles away in a terrible state in a suitcase. Tragic case.

My point is; the police knew nothing of her whereabouts until he walked in and admitted it all and told the Police the location of the body.

I don't think she is in the river tbh.

Because they are thick and do it for clicks

trouble is people will click...

Picoloangel · 08/02/2023 21:14

This probably seems like such a crass thing to say but I just don’t think if you were planning to disappear that you’d take your dog with you and leave it. Nothing about this case makes any sense at all though. I am uncertain how anyone can say with any certainty that she wasn’t ever in the water. I’ve worked my whole career in the criminal justice system and the window of opportunity seems so tight for foul
play but as I said nothing about this is clear.

Do you even have to click on tik tok? I thought it was just mindless scrolling

puppacup · 08/02/2023 21:16

@poppettypop I don't think anyone has said that someone who was initially considered missing can't become a murder victim?

puppacup · 08/02/2023 21:16

@plumduck no idea, never been on!

45 minutes is not a tight time frame for a window of opportunity. Especially if the crucial view from the cctv happened not to be working that day.

It is but its the main dog walking spot for the area.
When I used to live there and we took the dog, you'd see a constant stream of walkers
Fishermen fish along the river there too.
I probably wouldn't go alone but I'm quite risk avoidant.

I was discussing this with a good friend who works in CID. She pointed out that police advise women to vary their routes to work and home in case they are being watched. Sadly a woman who routinely walks her dog in an isolated place could be targeted. I’m not saying this happened here but it’s something to be aware of if you are a female dog walker.

"Why would people that call for buildings to be investigated then trespass in them."

They're thick as fuck, that's why.

I hope this thread isn't just going to be a repeat of people asking why the dog didn't follow, how someone could get a car up there, why the woman tied up the dog (who I don't think we should be naming btw).

I suspect there will be no regard for your hopes.

If MN exclude the threads from 'Trending'nyou might be in with a chance.

It's not all bad that it all ends up here though. At least it's contained a bit and we can try to keep a lid on some of the more crackpot posters.

bellswithwhistles · 08/02/2023 21:18

With regard to the CCTV not working...I can't help but think that's deliberate, like it was planned.

I've only come across cctv not working twice - once when it could have confirmed an accident and once when it could have confirmed someone threatening someone. Both times it had been tampered with.

it can't just be a coincidence, surely?

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 08/02/2023 21:19

I am not surprised that the abandoned house has been targeted given NB's friend's recent update. From the map, it looks like the house would have a strong vantage point of the fields and the bench, it's abandoned (whatever that means) and the police were refused entry without a warrant. I would definitely want it to be ruled out if I was family due to its proximity but the way these people are behaving it's totally unacceptable.

Well quite. It stopped working two days before conveniently.

60smusic · 08/02/2023 21:19

Those live videos are crazy..... That poor man sounds and looks terrified. I hope the police are there? This is really getting out of hand, those trespassers are being dicks.

Goldpaw · 08/02/2023 21:20

So looking at that photograph, the weir isn't very far away from the bench. And it's tidal below the weir. Checking a map it looks like it's about 9 miles from the weir to the estuary at Fleetwood/Knott End.

Nor me. I might give up with twitter too, it's full of wild speculation

There is no cctv on the river path either. I suppose its possible she could have gone in the water after the weir?

The CCTV was only ever covering the area by accident though. And the police have confirmed that footage they have got confirms nobody left that way.

Mirabai · 08/02/2023 21:23

pigsinoodies · 08/02/2023 20:44

@Mirabai

We have zero evidence she was ever in the water. The police have no duty to share evidence with the public at this stage unless they think it would help the investigation.

If there’s no other party involved then there’s no reason to not share cast iron evidence she went in the water (God knows what you think that could be) with the public or at the very least with her family.

It would be cruel slash negligent not to share that info with her family if they have it.

And sadly all her Facebook posts about her daily life were set to public. If some weirdo stumbles across her profile and saw she was attractive, petite and the places she walked regularly it would have been so easy to stalk her, knowing exactly where she would be on most days and at what time.

I’m not victim blaming before anyone starts, I am just pointing this out that it’s not a good idea.

Also, the weirdo may not necessarily have been a male but a jealous woman if this is the scenario.

SwishSwishBisch · 08/02/2023 21:24

Does anyone know of sniffer dogs have been used yet? I googled it but can’t see anything about them

Pootle40 · 08/02/2023 21:24

MadAndGlad · 08/02/2023 21:00

Not read all the threads. But has No one considered that her dog, a Springer Spaniel I believe, one of the most intelligent of dogs in UK and a water loving dog would have leapt into the river after her had she gone in? He wasn't tied up at the time she disappeared. Just a thought.

Also if abducted by a stranger, wouldn't the dog have followed/barked continuously. Similarly if she left off her own accord wouldn't the dog have followed her. Surely even a very obedient wouldn't just 'stay' even if told to if owner disappeared. It's all very odd

Justleaveitblankthen · 08/02/2023 21:24

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I have never seen it mentioned: Where did Nichola park her car that morning?
Why is the only CCTV footage (for public display) from her own doorbell, much earlier..and released by her family?
What about the rest of her route to her parking place?
CCTV from roadside cameras/neighbouring homes?
When or if will follow up footage of Nichola be released?
Surely it should now be treated as a criminal investigation and as much information as possible should be released, in the hope of finding her as quickly as possible?
