There are videos tonight on twitter of some absolute weapons who have trespassed onto the abandoned house and got accosted. Looks like they are streaming it on tik tok.

I saw that police are telling trespassers to pack it in.

pigsinoodies · 08/02/2023 20:44

@Mirabai

We have zero evidence she was ever in the water. The police have no duty to share evidence with the public at this stage unless they think it would help the investigation.

TokyoSushi · 08/02/2023 20:44

Thanks @ofwarren

Found this on another forum - it’s a walk down both sides of the river from last summer - passes the bench etc. The person who posted on the other forum did so to indicate smaller pedestrian entry / exit points - cut throughs and tracks which might be relevant in addition to the main ones.

It looks like a stunningly beautiful tranquil place.

Hope this poor woman is found.

Someone has also smashed in the boarded up window of the little brick hut next to the river.

Deplorable

Goldpaw · 08/02/2023 20:45

Morons.

The last thing needed is for idiots like that to take away officers from the investigation.

puppacup · 08/02/2023 20:45

Ruling out potential criminal involvement and putting all the focus on drowning it’s zero evidence she was ever in the water.

The point is we do not know all the evidence. It's completely standard for police not to reveal everything, surely that's not a surprise to armchair sleuths?

ofwarren · 08/02/2023 20:46

I thought this was quite a decent map from the Daily Mail.
The others I've seen aren't 3D

Very much agree with this.

I'd forgotten how much I love it around there. I'm looking forward to some walks when all this has been resolved.

DeeCeeCherry · 08/02/2023 20:47

I feel as if I don't want to speculate. But there are so many unanswered questions relating to that crucial 10 minute period and whether someone else could have been around, its hard not too. Twitter is awful at the moment, too many amateur detectives and ghouls. I don't believe she went into the water. I just hope she's found. Soon.

anotherdaydollar · 08/02/2023 20:50

Sorry to go back over the facts but please can I ask:

Was the phone found on the floor or the bench?

Would we truly expect there to be visible indications at the point of entry to the water?

Do we think there is any connection to the other missing people previously mentioned within a 40 mile radius? (Particularly the man who left his hat headphones and mobile phone near a canal)

Can anyone explain in very basic terms, if NB ended up in the water, what route / how far she would or could have travelled along the river?

Holding the family and NB in my thoughts for some answers soon. Hoping for the best outcome.

ilovebrie8 · 08/02/2023 20:53

It’s so bizarre! I don’t believe she went in the water either. Hopefully the police will have some answers asap. It’s a pity the cctv at caravan park was not working. Also odd the person who found the dog and phone and then just left them. Strange the police always said she is in the water and didn’t seem to consider other possibilities but perhaps that’s a smoke screen...

It may never be resolved

Ah yes, a lovely peaceful walk where a woman lost her life in some tragic circumstance.

Plitvice · 08/02/2023 20:56

It does look idyllic. I read that the family moved from Chelmsford in Essex to Lancashire when she was in her early twenties.

RosesAndHellebores · 08/02/2023 20:56

Could it be a "Regina Perrin"?

Nicknacky · 08/02/2023 20:56

@Blessedwithsunshine I haven’t once voiced my opinion on what I think has happened to her. Foul play is a possibility and the police have never said that has been ruled out, just that it was not being considered a criminal enquiry at that time. Quite frankly im not sure what I think as I don’t have all the info!

Like I have said a few times, there is a huge team on this and more detectives on it that are on some murder enquiries, so is being investigated.

Blessedwithsunshine · 08/02/2023 20:57

Thank you op for providing so many threads. I can’t help but feel all of pp that care for NB and supporting the family on here to keep it in the public eye. I hope she is found.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Hence leaving it until after it's resolved.

As it happens my own stretch of river has a body turn up every 3 months or so. That doesn't stop me loving my walks by it though.

MadAndGlad · 08/02/2023 21:00

Not read all the threads. But has No one considered that her dog, a Springer Spaniel I believe, one of the most intelligent of dogs in UK and a water loving dog would have leapt into the river after her had she gone in? He wasn't tied up at the time she disappeared. Just a thought.

ofwarren · 08/02/2023 21:00

I've just noticed, you can see the weir on the map I just shared. It's on the far left of the picture.
