i don’t think DFA have said the family are causing any trouble have they? And even so, not sure where they are getting their information. If there genuinely are delays there could be all sorts of reasons for that.

Even if their info is reliable, I don’t think DFA should be giving real time updates about this. I have been very much in favour of being able to speak about this case, but if DFA are providing updates on the exact timing of when Archie is to be allowed to slip away to a group of thousands of strangers, many of whom have had plenty to say about Archie and his family, I don’t see that as being particularly consistent with his dignity either.

How on earth do they know that?

I do think that page must be very distressing given apparently know intimate details that can only come from her close circle, and really seem to have a vendetta against her.

DFA are as bad as these armies. They don’t care about Archie or his family. I really hope they have genuine love and support around them.

WillowKnicks · 02/08/2022 11:42

DFA have said "Please all pray for the staff, been informed the ICU is under great strain at this time", inferring that something is kicking off ☹️

BongoJim · 02/08/2022 11:43

It all seems to have gone very quiet on the publicity front. Either another last minute appeal or hopefully (and with the child's best interests) they may well have found acceptance at last.

They’re a bunch of hypocrites. They’ve not allowed any dignity for Archie by plastering personal details about his mother all over the internet. They continue to show no dignity to a family who are going through hell.

SunflowerGardens · 02/08/2022 11:45

I agree about DFA. I think that page should go dark for today at least.

GirlInACountrySong · 02/08/2022 11:46

DFA have mentioned Hollie wanted to remove Archie for his last moments. Hope to his that's not what's happening

She can surely see his last moments will be there in that room

Journalists have the court documents which are in the public domain - referring to him as "brain damaged" or in a "coma" instead of reporting accurately does nothing to preserve his privacy/dignity, but does mislead anyone reading it.

But the recent judgments all refer to him being in a coma, so that aspect at least is not inaccurate.

MsBallen · 02/08/2022 11:51

That Facebook page is absolutely disgusting full of the lowest uneducated morons going. They have no understanding of anything at all but are still telling his mother he will wake up and be fine. I hope that right now that room is actually peaceful and everyone is calm and begining to accept this is the end.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 02/08/2022 11:52

Just one thing that isn't clear - did the family appeal directly to the Supreme Court today or not?

It was being spoken of as a "last chance", but now I'm wondering if it's been deemed (correctly) to be pointless

No mention anywhere if it even happened.

Honestly think it's just as bad as the AA page.

It's when they start arguing with each other for updates. Then someone will post something and will get jumped on for it and told they shouldn't have posted it. Even though and it's usually pointed out by the jumped on poster they have to be approved by admin first...

I guess it's going ahead. Hopefully they can find the peace they need surrounded by the right people without their own agenda

curiousitygotthebetterofme · 02/08/2022 11:55

It’s very very sad and so awful. I can’t begin to imagine the unbearable pain his mother, father and family are experiencing right now and over the last few months.

I will be thinking of them 💐

Unfortunately he's medically dead and because the media do not want to say this in interviews, the interviews are misleading.

@quia You're right the panel would depend on the presenting condition so the idea would be a permanent medical panel whose members are coopted according to the presenting condition. It would require a political action to establish and caarve out the legal procedure but the concept would try and remove the courts from intervening by setting the test as 'has the panel made an irrational decision or procedural error and, if not, the presumption is that the medical decision is final' rather than enabling the legal circus that has occurred here. If the parents have lost confidence in the hospital then they will have the comfort of independent medical opinion but this is not mediation and reduces the scope for any actors behind the scenes promoting their agenda outside the political process.

The irrational decision/procedural error test is basically the current test for judicial review cases, with the addition of unlawful decisions which I assume would have to be included anyway. There are currently a few thousand JR applications that reach the courts every year, so that test doesn't really weed out challenges.

TheIsaacs · 02/08/2022 12:01

I don’t understand where that DFA page is getting these supposedly accurate reports from the ward. Either there’s a leaky friend in the family’s “inner circle” or a member of staff is massively breaching confidentiality and reporting to that page illegally.

OrlandointheWilderness · 02/08/2022 12:03

What is DFA?!

I didn’t understand any of that 😀

No they don't? As said above, they have all the court documents which include medical reports?

I very much doubt that the journalists have all the court documents. Medical reports in particular are highly confidential and won't be made public.

GirlInACountrySong · 02/08/2022 12:06

AA members are going onto DFA to argue with them

It's been like that for months

As I said in a previous post - the court documents are in the public domain. This includes medical reports.

Yes of course they won't have his medical details that are kept private, but they have enough information to not solely report Hollie's accounts without any pushback or gentle corrections.

The media could definitely have done a better job of reporting this case accurately, and combating some of the misinformation coming from the family.

Dignity for all. Their Facebook is open, I just looked.

Thank you

Where are they in the public domain? I know the judgments are, as is normal, but those are not the medical reports or other court documents such as the applications, appeals, responses, witness statements, skeleton arguments etc. Of necessity, the judgments don't cite medical reports in full.

Definitely not the time to start a argument and not with what they are writing...especially with what is happening today.
