OP posts:

As im a newbie, please can someone explain what is a ticker, a troll and what is pmsl?

aloha · 05/07/2007 18:25

I am laughing a lot at Boco and Chevre's explanations.

MaureenMLove · 05/07/2007 18:25

A ticker is something they use on Netmums to illustrate their posts, a troll is someone who comes on here delibarately trying to start a row and pmsl is on the acronym list at the top of this page!

SueBaroo · 05/07/2007 18:26

pmsl = pissing myself laughing

troll = a poster who is just trying to get a rise out of other posters.

ticker = hideously cutesy visual attack usually seen at the bottom of posts on fluffier websites that will tell you all sorts of unneccessary information about their children/ovulation cycles/fetishes etc.

OrmIrian · 05/07/2007 18:30

Oooh Haychee - are you the same person as the original OP? Didn't know that. You were very very rude....>

I did try to be nice earlier but i think you failed to notice. Tis my fate to be ignored . I don't agree with you but I admire your gritty determination . MN is pretty good place to be most of the time.

haychee · 05/07/2007 18:31

ah-hah i see.
thankyou!
im not a troll, i simply have strong views which alot of you disagreed with. I did get a hell of alot of flak didnt i? patting myself on the back again.

OrmIrian · 05/07/2007 18:31

I thought a ticker was something that could be dodgy in the unhealthy.

haychee · 05/07/2007 18:32

I was only rude i think because of WELLS comments they were just truly out of complete and total order!

and alot of people were rude to me also. I apologise for the rudeness but i was provoked to the max

meandmyflyingmachine · 05/07/2007 18:41

No, a lot of people disagreed with you. You took it personally. It's different.

OrmIrian · 05/07/2007 18:42

You weren't the OP then? Because that seemed to be sudden violent and unexpected rudeness out of a clear blue sky!!! To which some of responded with more

tissy · 05/07/2007 18:43

calm down, everyone, or littlelapin will put you on the naughty step!

haychee · 05/07/2007 18:44

just because my opinion is diversly different to others does not call for the abuse and name calling and general belittlement i recieved

haychee · 05/07/2007 18:44

what is an OP?

OrmIrian · 05/07/2007 18:45

original poster.

haychee · 05/07/2007 18:47

Ah-hah
I tried to join the discussion when i joined and for some reason (probobly my mistake) it kept on starting a whole new thread. I was just trying to join in and discuss. I again am deeply apologetic if this caused confusion. I didnt start the original debate, i joined later.

There appears to be alot of confusion as to whether i was listening to what you all were saying. At first i wasnt listening, i admit that. I slept on it overnight and still felt the same about the total withdrawl of the ad. However, i am now more aware that some kids are far more sensitive than my own. I did come here quite abrupt and fierce in my views - now i have calmed and am more understanding of those parents who are against the ad. But i still wouldnt want it to be withdrwan entirley. I think a poster of her picture with a number to call would absolutely be sufficient at a U cert film.

Hoorah! success im sooo pleased. Do we then agree that school age children cannot be totally shielded from the darker side of life?

God no Of course not. I take mine to MaccyD's regularly. Suffering is good for the soul so they say

haychee · 05/07/2007 18:58

15 months is far too young for any kind of explanation of the events over madeleine. I would also wonder if a child of that age can appreciate shrek?
Anyway the film was toss, i was very disappointed to have paid the current price at the local cinema to watch it. You?

haychee · 05/07/2007 18:59

Its time to put mine to bed, back in a mo.
