Me three. QT makes my flesh creep,

Me too. I also think HW is creepy.
Personally I find both QT and HW physically repulsive and personality repulsive- and I thought that before all of this broke.

I don't think it's that uncommon to be honest as a dynamic - that men who are physically unattractive throughout their lives (particularly during the formative years at school) harbour a deep rooted resentment towards women who they perceive as constantly rejecting them - that when they attain massive wealth and power use it to "get the girls" that they couldn't get in high school by any means possible including pressure and sexual harassment.

To be clear, I am NOT saying that all unattractive men become sexual harassers whether they attain power or not NOR am I saying good looking men are never sexual harassers.

Only that there is or maybe a higher incidence or inclination towards that behaviour when you combine physical (and also personality) repulsiveness during youth and most of adult life + a lack of success with women + attainment of great wealth and power particularly in a setting where that can be used to wield power over women who would never have given that man a second look otherwise.

I don't get Uma's anger as a reason not to say anything.

If she has suffered abuse, she's had some time to think of a statement and get it checked by someone else for anything she may regret.
It would be better to say that that was not the time to talk about it and she will address it in her own time and appropriate circumstances.

Or it it recent anger at the cover up? I hope it's not in relation to the victims.

HadronCollider · 05/11/2017 13:35

That's my assessment of the motives behind some male sexual harrassers too king. Unattractive, non-alpha, yet highly creative and/or intelligent male, is overlooked by desirable females who add prestige and esteem if 'acquired' and is rejected in favour of more attractive, socially alpha men. Eventually, unattractive males talents are recognised and nurtured. Previously non-alpha male suddenly becomes indowed with prestige and takes on alpha status. Ego becomes massively inflated.
Uses newly acquired status and power to direct deep resentment of earlier sexual rejection to all women who cross their path. Women whose refusal to engage in sex/rejection still has the power to make him feel inferior again, despite said gain of power. He hates that more than anything, resorting to anger, violence and coercion to to get what he wants.

I know its not the case for all such men, but very probably the underlying mechanism going on in Weinstein, QT et al. Shown by the fact that actresses often recall HW boosting about the amount of actresses he had bedded, giving names. I mean purely from an impartial point of view, WHO thinks you are going to encourage a woman to sleep with you by mentioning all your previous 'conquests'Hmm Clearly this was an attempt to boost status.

With her being in statute, it would be good if NYPD can make a case. Therapist statement which talks of coercive as opposed to rape may go against her though (I am aware they are the same thing but it reads badly).
I have just finished watching second season of One Mississipi. I thought, wow, that's prophetic/prescient (it was released Sept) and then I found out it was probably based on a certain executive producer of the show. The one called out by Roseanne Barr, the one on a comediennes' spreadsheet of male comic pervs to avoid, the one who is audacious enough to address allegations about him in his latest film. Step forward one Louis CK.

HangryHanderson · 06/11/2017 09:00
  1. Julianna Margulies

(88 excludes the anonymous complainants except for 'Sarah Smith')

Mner · 06/11/2017 11:56

She mentions a gun as well with SS, which must have been particularly terrifying. This article below has some more info on his previous alleged assaults:

Absolutely horrific

@CaveMum

The New Yorker have written another expose on Weinstein.

For anyone who has ever, in the most remote recesses of their brain, speculated on why women do not report, you should read this.

The gargantuan lengths to which this man has gone to to cover up his abuse are extraordinary. This man was determined to abuse and, equally determined that he would get away with it.

Weinstein replied, “This is the killer. Especially if my fingerprints r not on this.” Howard then reassured Weinstein, “They are not. And the conversation . . . is RECORDED.”

Alwaysinmyheart · 07/11/2017 10:59

I just read that article on Twitter, he hired ex Mossad agents to find dirt on both victims and reporters! Chilling...

HadronCollider · 07/11/2017 11:51

That is horrific reading.

Two private investigators from Black Cube, using false identities, met with the actress Rose McGowan, who eventually publicly accused Weinstein of rape, to extract information from her. One of the investigators pretended to be a women’s-rights advocate and secretly recorded at least four meetings with McGowan.

As PP said, utterly chilling.

Alwaysinmyheart · 07/11/2017 12:27

If any cases go to trial I wonder if this can be used as evidence against him, hope this bloody backfires against him!

HangryHanderson · 07/11/2017 12:41

Not sure, it isn't a crime to hire a private investigator but suppressing potential witnesses in a potential lawsuit sounds like something the mafia would do. The rest (digging up photos, finding witnesses to discredit plaintiff's character/counteract character witnesses) sounds like standard legal groundwork as the attorney says, what any decent lawyer would do. Fascinating article.

Alwaysinmyheart · 07/11/2017 12:44

I guess I was meaning evidence as to his intent, if he is saying that what he did was consensual?

HangryHanderson · 07/11/2017 12:57

ooh, very good point

Datun · 07/11/2017 13:02

Alwaysinmyheart

I guess I was meaning evidence as to his intent, if he is saying that what he did was consensual?

Exactly. He has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to shut people up.

PlectrumElectrum · 07/11/2017 13:40

I've just finished the New Yorker article too.

There are so many points in it which (I hope) sink him once & for all.

The actress who was part of the police sting being compelled to submit her devices to be wiped (of evidence) as part of her NDA - luckily we know the police recorded it via wire & know he admitted it in that exchange.

The ex employee duped into making calls that witnesses/victims felt were intimidating/threatening. His desperate attempts to dig up photos & dirt & get people to trash his accusers. The pressure Mcgowans ex boyfriend's ex wife was put in, to trash McGowan & having that recorded when she asked for it not to be.

I'm glad those who enabled him to work on threatening & discrediting & abusing victims & any witnesses are being called out too. His house of cards should be pulled apart & everyone complicit should be tainted by their actions to help him continue to abuse & assault & harass women.

docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/1Z95WVLLbh6M1U_Ch4vbfKuJtUmznu-ZgM9yHFBJl68I/htmlview

The list that victims compiled with anonymous included hits 103

HangryHanderson · 08/11/2017 01:36

actually, make that 104 as they do not have Sophie Morris or Julianna Margulies on those lists.
( also Alice Evans is listed on one but not named on the other)
In cross checking, my previous list should exclude Alexi Melvin (that was an accusation levied against Bob not Harvey) and Juls Bindi not Hindi (autocorrect sucks).
pending sources of the anonymous allegations, it is hard to believe that the list of complainants has now reached triple figures without there being a warrant for his arrest yet.

Alwaysinmyheart · 08/11/2017 08:16

Another actor, Ed Westwick has been accused of rape, he's saying he doesn't know her. Warning, her account is distressing to read.

Pawpainting · 08/11/2017 21:19

The DM have named Charlie Sheen as the person who raped corey haim. This had already been widely speculated for years but seems to be confirmed now. I haven't seen anything on MN or anywhere else really about it though?

Datun · 08/11/2017 22:10

Pawpainting

I was reading about it elsewhere, last week. There’s quite a bit on the net where he is named.

southeastdweller · 08/11/2017 22:17

Charlie Sheen is mentioned on the thread about Corey Feldman (who's finally gone to the police).

CS was allegedly looking at child porn when he was with Denise Richards, according to her divorce papers:
