Its appalling how many there are and this is probably the tip of the iceberg too. What has prompted this second wave of revelations? (It felt like there was a lull earlier this week.)

GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 29/10/2017 06:38

It's not a second wave - Daryl and Anabella were in the last 24 hours - but the others I did not come across until cross referencing. Essentially the Guardian, vulture, the cut etc all have lists which are being updated but there is no one list so it is hard to keep up as many complainants have disclosed during interviews or via twitter/Instagram.

badbadhusky · 29/10/2017 06:45

Ah, OK. Its shocking. I hope he is charged and subjected to the full extent of the law, wherever there is scope to pursue cases (re statute of limitations etc).

GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 29/10/2017 07:37

Unless the anonymous complainants are recent or those alleging he raped them press charges then I'm not sure he will be charged as I suspect any plaintiff/class action is going against the company (who allegedly knew of his conduct because of pay-offs) for not protecting them. As Yewtree showed, historical allegations are hard to prosecute because of the burden of proof/hearsay (he said/she said) nature of it (which is why presumably his PR are now going along the 'I recall things differently' route) but I have zero legal expertise so I might be wrong - I do hope so.

InigoTaran · 29/10/2017 08:27

Just read this, a rather graphic account by a young model about her photo shoot with Terry Richardson, another sexual predator abusing his power.

www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/weighing-the-costs-of-speaking-out-about-harvey-weinstein

Follow-up article by Ronan Farrow re Anabella and Daryl.
I wish those defending him or suggesting not all women were complainants could see how manipulative he was.
He forced massages or cunnilingus so he could discredit allegations and he made sure to pull out to ejaculate so that semen evidence would be minimal. The guy needs locking up.

yolofish · 29/10/2017 22:32

has anyone mentioned Westminster or Brussels or the BBC yet? all covered extensively in the Sunday Times today. It appears that exploitation of power is totally rife everywhere...

DownbutnotfullyOut · 30/10/2017 00:28

GruesomeLady - thanks for that link. Both of those accounts are terrifying. The Daryl Hannah account where he had a key to her room -and all the door pounding - it's a good job she had her makeup artist there.

It's also a good illustration of how everyone knew but not only did nothing in terms of public reporting but wouldn't even stand up to him. Quentin Tarrantino is disgusting IMO for doing nothing. At at that point Daryl Hannah was really famous. What a bunch of @%$"£

GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 30/10/2017 07:55

Garnier and Crabb I read about yes yolo good luck to Maybot with that one, she'll be sacking half of government. Alternatively there'll be a few sacrificial lambs and she'll wait for it to blow over. Given how the investigations and subsequent Inquiry into establishment paedophilia went, I have little to zero faith in her.

Kevin Spacey has been accused of making sexual advances towards a teenage actor in the 1980s: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-41799026

Kevin Spacey story out there now. He has come out the closet. It will be interesting whether Anthony Rapp's allegation unleashes the floodgates on him.

X post cave morning!

CaveMum · 30/10/2017 08:12

Morning GLOM

Haven't there been rumours about Kevin Spacey for a few years in terms of inappropriate behaviour?

OP posts:
GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 30/10/2017 08:16

His statement was careful. There have been stories circulating for years. Not just about his sexuality, that's his own business, but his alleged treatment of gay and straight men who were intoxicated. Also stories of trips abroad. Also picking mentees from theatre productions. As with HW there are stories of consensual relationships (twinks or twinkies) but also some alleged predatory behaviour and I applaud Anthony for coming forward.

GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 30/10/2017 08:24

He will have had that statement ready, put it that way. But it has been retweeted 13000 times already and liked Hmm 28000 times. I appreciate its candour but my view towards predators doesn't change just because I like the actor.

GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 30/10/2017 08:31

Actually, scrap that. It's only candid in so far as it is slightly better than Trump and Wankstain's denials. It's an apology but one without accountability. I'm sorry if...I was drunk...historic allegation etc

GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 30/10/2017 08:37

Also "examining one's behaviour" is a crock. You don't try it on with minors. But the allegation (which would be sexual assault of a minor if any touching was involved) is also past the statute of limitations.

GruesomeLadyOfMangling · 30/10/2017 08:41

Oh my God - Seth McFarlane did a joke in 2015 (wonder if he's regretting his material yet)
Naked Stewie from family guy running through a mall proclaiming "Help! I've escaped from Kevin Spacey's basement. Help me!" Shock

Gruesome I'm glad they're in there - it shows how long this stuff has been known about.

www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/kevin-spacey-twitter-apology-gay-sexual-assault-sexuality-anthony-rapp-party-allegations-a8026726.html

^Good. Being called out on using coming out as a deflection. The trope of gay=pederast needs stamping on.

CaveMum · 30/10/2017 10:00

Sue Perkins is being very critical of KS on Twitter for trying to hide from the allegations with "But I'm gay". Here's what she's said:

"Well done Kev. You stay silent on your sexuality until the time comes when you can conflate it with an alleged sexual assault on a minor."

"In doing so, you simultaneously undervalue the horrific nature of the allegation and set back the LGBT+ community. Well done."

And has also been pointed out, he said he couldn't remember the incident in question but he DOES remember that he was definitely drunk... 🤔

OP posts:
Datun · 30/10/2017 10:10

And has also been pointed out, he said he couldn't remember the incident in question but he DOES remember that he was definitely drunk...

He says he’s sorry for what would have been ‘deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour’.

So yes. How do you know you weren’t stone cold sober, Kev? Since you have zero recollection.

It’s also manipulative to suggest that drunken sexual assault is somehow more forgiveable than sober sexual assault.

redshoeblueshoe · 30/10/2017 11:41

The woman that was raped by Polanski was interviewed by Piers Morgan (I think it was last week), she said she didn't understand all the fuss, as she had consented, and that back in the day everyone was doing it . She is bringing a book out.
