Updated allegations (as of 17-10-17) Alleged harassment/assault often took place in hotel suites or offices or private residences/rooms. Some at Cannes, Sundance, Venice, Toronto film festivals. Complainants included actresses, assistants, interns, models, presenters, a producer.

'Bargaining' was a ploy in many cases as was presenting himself in a bathrobe or naked or in the bath and often took place in hotel suite meetings where women were sent up to the room from the original venue or accompanied by assistants who were then told to leave.

So I find QT comments just strange. He says: “I couldn’t believe he would do that so openly. I was like: ‘Really? Really?’ But the thing I thought then, at the time, was that he was particularly hung up on Mira,” said Tarantino. “I thought Harvey was hung up on her in this Svengali kind of way. Because he was infatuated with her, he horribly crossed the line.”

Really? What's he saying? As long as he didn't do it 'so openly' it was ok? And then the whole 'because he was infatuated with her' line, as if he just couldn't have helped himself. And Mira Sorvino was his ex girlfriend. How weird is that? You'd think he'd be a little more outraged. Plus he knew about Rose Mcgowan's non-disclosure.

He's really not coming across well in that interview and sounds very much like a rape apologist. But then his films are always extremely violent so I think his sense of ethics are probably off as regards violence of any kind.

^ This x1000. I would be entirely unsurprised if it was revealed that he had similar predilections to HW. His films are plain nasty and for every "but Uma Thurman kicked ass in Kill Bill" there is a woman being raped, beaten or abused in his films. I've never understood Hollywood's adulation about him.

He knew about Rose because her ex was Roberto Rodriguez. The same ex who then pedalled his movie with QT which she starred in to....Harvey Wankstain and Miramax to distribute.

I also thought his comments were lame. Word has it that Uma was his ''muse'' so scarily he probably does think infatuation is an excuse for harassment but had I been Mira or Rose and my partner was Ah really, that's nasty and still socialised with the guy/did business with him he would be kicked to the kerb straight away.

As to his movies I liked most of Jackie Brown, thought Grier and Forster were fantastic in it.

I meant there are so many cases of sexual harassment being reported now that I can't keep up with them and what does that say about the society we live in? Realised my comments could have been misconstrued as tell me what the link says.

I feel as though there is something of a sea change. Sexual harassment has been considered negative (obviously) by woman, but men have either ignored it or collluded in it.

Weinstein being so prolific has resulted in a two fold effect. Firstly, that people (men) are shocked, secondly, the sheer number of women who can attest to it.

Because the number of women is so great, it has encouraged other women to come forward both in this case and others. And sheer scale of the problem is being revealed.

‘Decent’ men who are genuinely shocked, but never really understood it, are now having their eyes opened. And the condemnation of people who excuse it is hitting some kind of wonderful zeitgeist.

It’s really, really ‘uncool’ to be a harasser.

Like how it became really, really uncool to drink and drive. People used to do it and everyone accepted it. They knew it was wrong, but it wasn’t ‘uncool’.

This is actually giving men cred for calling out other men on their sexism.

That's interesting GorgeousLady wasn't there some big thing about Sean Young - I can't really remember - she was in a pile of films and looked set for superstardom and then got accused of harassing some actor. He may have sued her. This is very half remembered. And then she was never in any more films.

His response to Lupita's statement is an illustration of what his accusers will face if he gets to trial on any of the accusations. He's so focused on retaliating to desperately prove he's 'just' a sex addict. He has no intention of letting this whole situation sink him. The level of his lack of self awareness is gob smacking.
