Updated allegations (as of 17-10-17) Alleged harassment/assault often took place in hotel suites or offices or private residences/rooms. Some at Cannes, Sundance, Venice, Toronto film festivals. Complainants included actresses, assistants, interns, models, presenters, a producer.

'Bargaining' was a ploy in many cases as was presenting himself in a bathrobe or naked or in the bath and often took place in hotel suite meetings where women were sent up to the room from the original venue or accompanied by assistants who were then told to leave.

I saw that interview. Samantha Geimer thought Polanski had served his time (42 days in jail iirc).
She seemed to be blaming herself as she was sexually active at the time.
She points out that the media and court caused her more anguish than her accuser did.
She also would rather her granddaughter not have to read all this about her.
He had unlawful sex with a minor. She was only 13. Under 14 is statutory rape. Giving quaaludes is rape by use of drugs but it was plea bargained down. There is no statute of limitations.

Her book was published in 2013.
Piers Morgan was surprisingly sensitive in that interview. I expected him to ask her whether she would be forgiving if Polanski had sodomised her daughter/granddaughter but he respected the fact that she has forgiven Polanski. She was given champagne and drugs. She was sodomised. She has said it was non-consensual. She said no.
She wants to put it behind her. She also said in another interview she was stupid to pose topless, drink or take the tablet but says it is patronising to say she was suffering from victim's guilt.

^ My point being: that case was minimised by many because of the victim blaming and mother-blaming. Her mother allowed her to pose naked? She was drinking and not a virgin? (She had had sex once before) It was reported as a party but was meant to be a (second) photo shoot. When her mother found out she took her to hospital and called the police. Her mum wanted to "kill the fucker".
Samantha Geimer does not want to be seen as a victim but just because she has forgiven him does not mean he is not a rapist.
A drunken aggressor or drunken victim is not a mitigating circumstance.

Polanski was meant to have settled with Geimer for half a million. Wankstain tried to buy off McGowan last month with a million (she ultimately turned him down the day before the story broke)

In short, three years ago a third of men and women surveyed said they had been harassed in parliament. Nothing appears to have changed since. Cathy Newman has seen this latest unredacted list and half are serving ministers, some in cabinet, others are former members of government. No one was named. Two on the list, one said it was bollocks, the other said he was a feminist not a sex pest.

-------------------------In the meantime the Kevin Spacey allegation has not led to others coming forward or making a statement. Netflix are not going to film any more HOC. I have no problem whatsoever with Kevin Spacey being gay or having a penchant for legal twinks or cruising/cottaging. I would have a problem if he had been harassing men, gay or straight, who had clearly said no or if he had been harassing assistants on set.

I see House of Cards has been cancelled, no more series after the one currently in production. It's quite a smash hit for Netflix (though not sure if ratings have been dropping or not) so that's quite a big decision for them. Right one though. Feel sorry for other cast members and also fans of the show if storylines aren't completed.

Viva - Netflix have already said the decision not to renew HOC was taken before the Spacey revelations.
