I hadn't actually thought that Nigel Farage could go lower in my estimation. But have to admit I was wrong...

I posted the video of John Di Domenico, top US Trump impersonator, who told "gone Channel 4's" Matt Frei that from travelling all over the country for a year, that he thinks it will be a landslide for Trump because despite what the news is reporting about the polls, from meeting people on the ground it is totally different.

Of course it's totally different. It's a biased sample. The impersonator's. :)

Showmethewaytogohome · 29/08/2016 01:08

Oh Trump. The orange wonder. If and it is a HUUGGEEE if he won it would be a 4 year term only. Unless he did a Putin and changed the terms of the whole constitution....hhhhmmm

You are right he is Mr Brexit - a disaster wrapped up in fascist clothing. Talking ofwhich whats with the red tie? Always. Odd. Looks like his nanny has been dressing him and still does

Kaija · 29/08/2016 01:10

Ah yes,Putin. Now claig, is Putin the authentic voice of the anti-establishment?

Showmethewaytogohome · 29/08/2016 01:12

Kaija Is it too late to put her up for the elections? She is of course too intelligent to replace Trump and too loyal to replace Corbyn but she's willing...and a lot more able

And looks better in a suit (I will have to actually try that tho so don't hold me too it)

But I guess as part of the establishment she's probably too busy being scared of Trump. Oh but all of us 'People' are too. Hmmm it's a thinka

claig · 29/08/2016 01:14

No, Putin is the Establishment in Russia.

Showmethewaytogohome · 29/08/2016 01:16

Putin better known as 'Shootin' is the establishment? Then why does he want Trump in?

It's so Alice in Wonderland I can't keep up. Drink Me. Eat Me. Believe Me

Lweji · 29/08/2016 01:18

I propose my cat. He wouldn't be the first black president (or white - why is a mixed "race" person considered black and not white?), but he certainly doesn't like anything established (except his food times).
He'd just let Congress get on with it, and he only shows his teeth when really pissed off. Much cooler head than Trump.

Also, he's not likely to read titties instead of cities. He doesn't have a dirty mind.

Lweji · 29/08/2016 01:20

Putin better known as 'Shootin' is the establishment? Then why does he want Trump in?

Establishment in Russia is anti-establishment in the USA.

Considering History, that leaves being anti-establishment as...

claig · 29/08/2016 01:20

Trump says that after 4 years in office, he guarantees that he will get 95% of the African-American vote. If he succeeds, he could be in office for 8 years.

Good night.

Kaija · 29/08/2016 01:20

And yet both Farage and Trump love Putin.

So where does that leave us? The anti-establishment in the west admire most of all the establishment in Russia.

Interesting.

claig · 29/08/2016 01:22

'Then why does he want Trump in?'

Because if Hillary wins, he fears there could be a world war because she has a reputation as being a hawk and Trump is the opposite.

Lweji · 29/08/2016 01:22

Claig

I hope you also get to watch his running mate's reaction to that claim (I think I posted it earlier, but here it goes anyway):

Good night. Grin

Kaija · 29/08/2016 01:23

I take it you share Farage's and Trump's admiration of Putin, claig?

Showmethewaytogohome · 29/08/2016 01:24

95% of the black vote is very possible......under a one party state. Hhhmmm

claig · 29/08/2016 01:26

'I take it you share Farage's and Trump's admiration of Putin, claig?'

I agree with Trump and Farage over Putin, and probably Corbyn too. I want peace and business, not war and destruction.

Showmethewaytogohome · 29/08/2016 01:29

Claig. Your statement actually implies very strongly that you want Authoritarianism over Democracy. Shootin/Putin ain't no peace-nic hippy

claig · 29/08/2016 01:30

'you want Authoritarianism over Democracy'

No, because I don't care what he does in Russia as long as he leaves us alone here. I want democracy and referenda here so that the people can have their voice heard.

Lweji · 29/08/2016 01:35

Trump is the opposite.

Is NOT.

He was in favour of getting Gaddafi out.
He was up for invasion of Iraq, except when he saw that it wasn't going as well as expected by the US.
And he's in favour of invasion if the US can profit from oil (i.e. take whatever resources the invaded country has).

Kaija · 29/08/2016 01:41

"I agree with Trump and Farage over Putin".

Ok, well at least we've now got a picture of where your "anti-establishment" vision is leading.

Thanks for clearing that up,

Lweji · 29/08/2016 01:45

No, because I don't care what he does in Russia as long as he leaves us alone here.

Ah, but do you think what happens in Russia has no effect in Europe or the US?

How do you feel knowing that Putin's fighter planes have been pushing on NATO airspace in Europe, including the UK?

And that Putin has invaded and annexed a region from another country (Ukraine)? Do you think that has no effect in the UK?

claig · 29/08/2016 01:49

'How do you feel knowing that Putin's fighter planes have been pushing on NATO airspace in Europe, including the UK? '

As far as I understand it, these things are normal for Russia and Nato to do.

'And that Putin has invaded and annexed a region from another country (Ukraine)? Do you think that has no effect in the UK?'

I don't think it affects us as long as he doesn't threaten us. It's not worth going to war over for us or NATO in my opinion.

Kaija · 29/08/2016 01:54

Anyway, here's an appropriate column for some light relief before bedtime.

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/aug/28/where-was-vladimir-putin-when-jeremy-corbyn-needed-him

Lweji · 29/08/2016 02:33

I don't think it affects us as long as he doesn't threaten us.

You really don't think war in the Ukraine affects the economy in Europe? Energy supply? People movements? (Isn't migration a concern?) That Putin's advancing in Eastern Europe couldn't bring the cold war back?

Your view that it doesn't affect the UK could only be true if the UK was cut off from the rest of the World.

claig · 29/08/2016 08:36

Yes, a war would affect all of Europe and us, which is why wise heads who are not hawks i.e. Obama have done everything they can to rein in the war hawks and prevent it. But there are hawks who want a war with Russia

As the Spiegel Online reported

"Dangerous Propaganda: Network Close To NATO Military Leader Fueled Ukraine Conflict

Working with dubious sourcing, a group close to NATO's chief military commander Philip Breedlove sought to secure weapons deliveries for Ukraine, a trove of newly released emails revealed. The efforts served to intensify the conflict between the West and Russia.
...
The newly leaked emails reveal a clandestine network of Western agitators around the NATO military chief, whose presence fueled the conflict in Ukraine. Many allies found in Breedlove's alarmist public statements about alleged large Russian troop movements cause for concern early on. Earlier this year, the general was assuring the world that US European Command was "deterring Russia now and preparing to fight and win if necessary."

The emails document for the first time the questionable sources from whom Breedlove was getting his information. He had exaggerated Russian activities in eastern Ukraine with the overt goal of delivering weapons to Kiev.

The general and his likeminded colleagues perceived US President Barack Obama, the commander-in-chief of all American forces, as well as German Chancellor Angela Merkel as obstacles. Obama and Merkel were being "politically naive & counter-productive" in their calls for de-escalation, according to Phillip Karber, a central figure in Breedlove's network who was feeding information from Ukraine to the general.

"I think POTUS sees us as a threat that must be minimized,... ie do not get me into a war????" Breedlove wrote in one email, using the acronym for the president of the United States. How could Obama be persuaded to be more "engaged" in the conflict in Ukraine read: deliver weapons Breedlove had asked former Secretary of State Colin Powell."

www.spiegel.de/international/world/breedlove-network-sought-weapons-deliveries-for-ukraine-a-1104837.html

Trump is with Obama and is against all of this and has said that he will not be hiring lots and lots of the people who got the US into all these messes across the world.

claig · 29/08/2016 08:41

Stanley Kubrick's film "Dr Strangelove" with the late great Peter Sellers doing a brilliant acting job looks ever more prescient when we read about the war hawks and General Breedlove.
