I do hope this bloke is OK after all this, it can't be great being shown to be quite incompetent (At least in the tasks he was set) on a world wide stage :(

For a scientist, his methodology (and the documentation of such) is appalling.

Oh dear I feel awful for mr Dixon now, this is painful to listen too.

Bloody hell. Mr. Dixon is saying he doesn't read newspapers, online news, doesn't have a TV, his excuse for not knowing about curtains opened and closed.

Yet he goes on twitter and facebook and posts about the trial on there.

He is really clutching at straws now and is making a complete fool of himself.

I am not only appalled but also gobsmacked at the defence. Surely it would have been better not to have had Dixon testify at all and rely on the evidence of the other neighbours etc?

I'm still also wondering just how competent Dixon was considered when working for the State?

And don't forget searching for gunshot sounds on the internet ...

This is just shocking, I can't believe they have paid and brought this man to stand in the box, I seriously think I would rather not have anyone, it's embarrassing, it needs to just stop now!

He had done some light tests at the house prior to this but went and had the bloke kneeling to recreate OP at the window on 14th April this year. That's 3 days ago. Nel double checked the date and that's what he said.

He used a man approx 20cm shorted than OP on his stumps, he didn't test the light in the bedroom with curtains not only closed but open, he did not see how much light came in with balcony light on even OP said the balcony light was on, oh dear and on and on we go.....

He's also just said he could see the outline if the bookcase in the passage way, hmm.

And several led lights not just one

His tweets sound like he is absolutely desperate for work. I wonder if this has any bearing on this complete nightmare - perhaps he talked himself into this job. and is now very much regretting that

Yes AmI, it is painful - keep expecting Roux or the judge to stand Dixon down.

Why would such an experienced defence counsel allow a witness of that calibre.

It defies belief

Because all other experts found evidence to support the prosecution IMO. I reckon this guy was paid to lie because they couldn't find anyone to back up their argument. Such a foolish strategy though. Someone a year ago should have had the guts to tell this rich and famous man that he was going to have to tell the truth. Seems to me they've been happy to take his money and work on this nonsensical 'defence'.
I will be gobsmacked if he doesn't go to prison for a long time.
