Here you go.

OP posts:
BookABooSue · 17/04/2014 10:57

I've not been able to catch up with the court this morning so thanks for everyone's posts. How shocking that they used someone the wrong size in the reconstruction photos! I know I mentioned it a few times yesterday but it looked like the person was the wrong size and now someone has said above that there was 8 inches difference. That means Dr Stipp's testimony could have been at any time in the evening's events because OP would have been visible.
I'm really surprised Roux hasn't tried some damage limitation. OP needs a robust defence so everyone can feel secure in any resulting conviction.

CharlieSierra · 17/04/2014 10:58

#oscartrial Roger Dixon says he made his analysis of the door varnish on the prosthesis from PHOTOS he was supplied of the athlete's leg

WTAF!!!!

Just when you think it can't get any worse..........

Nerf · 17/04/2014 10:58

It would be very interesting to see what they sought and received from others before settling for Dixon.

Hillwalker · 17/04/2014 11:01

I agree, shopping. OP should have pled guilty to the gun charges and to CH and shown great remorse. He would have spared Reeva's family this trial, maybe retained a smidgen of respect and possibly had a shorter sentence but his ego and need to remain a good guy in the eyes of his family and the world would not allow that. Now, he has lost all respect and risks a long jail sentence.

HowAboutNo · 17/04/2014 11:01

Yet he's still going. He confirmed to journos in the tea break that those are his twitter and fb accounts... So he lied when he said he didn't follow the trial at all as he retweeted at least one comment about it.

I don't know if he's got guts or if he's just stupid

HowAboutNo · 17/04/2014 11:03

The defence are going to have a busy couple of weeks bringing this back from the edge

member · 17/04/2014 11:04

Has he done any spectrometry or chromatography type analysis? The only scientific instrument I've heard him make reference to is looking at the fibres in the door through a microscope.

BookABooSue · 17/04/2014 11:05

I wonder if Roux thought Dixon's evidence would just be accepted because the defence were the only ones to attempt to test light levels; cricket bat vs gunshot sounds, etc. The tests have been really sloppy but I don't understand why the state didn't do such tests too. Did Nel not have the funding to do partial reconstructions?

Wondering what the commotion is so have just caught up on BBC -

"The BBC's Pumza Fihlani in court says Mr Dixon's testimony challenges the state's version that Ms Steenkamp would have had time to scream after the first bullet and that Mr Pistorius then changed aim and continued firing."

He sounds a bit dodgy ..

There's something a bit amateurish about this court case on all sides at times.
Confused

LookingThroughTheFog · 17/04/2014 11:15

It's worth noting that the @BarryRouxLaw Twitter account is a parody. Just in case anyone didn't know.

LookingThroughTheFog · 17/04/2014 11:17

Is there something a little contradictory between Pistorius' testimony that his ears were ringing so much that he wouldn't have heard a scream, and that she there was no scream. He said that there was no scream at any point that evening.

He cannot know the latter for sure if the former were true.

StackALee · 17/04/2014 11:18

I feel a bit sorry for him now as Nel is badgering him on the tests he did and he's clearly said a number of times that the test was only for one thing.

Roussette · 17/04/2014 11:18

Nel had someone called Mangena to carry out the tests I think and from what iI've read he is very experienced

Hillwalker · 17/04/2014 11:19

Absolutely, looking. I seem to remember Nel pointing that out in the x exam of OP.

LouiseBrooks · 17/04/2014 11:19

"OP should have pled guilty to the gun charges and to CH and shown great remorse. "

I certainly agree with that but has this been discussed anywhere- by legal professionals or seasoned reporters I mean? Would OP have been given the option to say "I plead not guilty to murder but guilty to CH" like people do on tv, or is that just on tv? The State hae always seemed determined to nail him for straightforward murder.

AmIthatSpringy · 17/04/2014 11:20

According to some journalists on twitter, Gerrie Nel is getting from Dixon all the information he needs to quiz Wolmarans, who is a forensic witness for the defence and did the tests with him

Giving him 2 weeks to study what he has done

He is a very clever prosecutor

Animation · 17/04/2014 11:21

I'm wondering now if the judge tough enough to deal with and throw out jokers like this??

HowAboutNo · 17/04/2014 11:23

Mangena is sat behind Nel I think. A few of the experts are sat around him. Their faces over the last two days have been priceless.

Roussette · 17/04/2014 11:23

oh dear - this -

Nel's seizes on the suggestion that Dixon consulted with the defence barristers overnight, because he knows pics were handed over #Pistorius

AmIthatSpringy · 17/04/2014 11:23

I can't remember who said - I think Howto, but yes, the translator woman does look like she is nodding off

StackALee · 17/04/2014 11:24

"What happened Stack - missed the resumption of court?"

just that she told him it was ok for him to sit down if he wanted.

CrispyHedgeHog · 17/04/2014 11:24

Oh lord this is bad.......... I'm cringing watching this guy

HowAboutNo · 17/04/2014 11:25

springy that was me - she's a touch of light relief. Cracks me up.

Roussette · 17/04/2014 11:25

This will wipe the floor with Dixon, there is serious squirming going on. The defence team are not allowed to speak to witnesses during cross examination so surely this is final straw
