Here you go.

OP posts:
ArmchairDetective · 17/04/2014 22:13

One wonders why he didn't admit to the lesser firearm charges. That would surely have depicted him as someone who does take responsibility for his actions. OK we don't know whether the sunroof shooting took place for sure but we know the restaurant one did and I wish he had just said I'm interested in guns, I looked at a gun, I shouldn't have, it went off and I accept it was a dangerous thing to do (incidentally did he know it was loaded when he took it- I was never quite sure of that)

ArmchairDetective · 17/04/2014 22:15

What did they have for dinner anyway? If they had some salad with it, is it possible she took some celery sticks etc up with her to munch on later after her yoga (I know all this conjecture is getting a bit silly).

AnyaKnowIt · 17/04/2014 22:16

They had a veg stir fry

AmIthatSpringy · 17/04/2014 22:18

I never understood why he didn't just plead guilty to those extra charges. It was said at the time of charging that it was a means to introduce evidence of recklessness. He could have circumvented that by pleading guilty.

Although the Tasha's one I'm still doubtful about. I have read articles on the internet about the glock and it's sensitive safety catch. I think his ex-friend is as culpable, but OP has already said in cross-examination that he was equally negligent, so I guess he will be found guilty of that anyway.

The sunroof one, well it was either in anger, in irritation, or to wind up the cops. The witnesses are not in unison on this, but he should just have plead guilty to that.

Incidentally, if anyone is on twitter, I found an account that in February, long before the trial started, was making some claims, that now appear to be quite valid. CelestialMari is the twitter handle, worth checking out

ArmchairDetective · 17/04/2014 22:20

"They had a veg stir fry"

In that case you are going to be ravenous by 1am- stirfries go right through you

AmIthatSpringy · 17/04/2014 22:21

Chicken strips and vegetables, I thought

JackyDanny · 17/04/2014 22:28

A couple of posts saying OP is innocent, no he is not, he took the life of Reeva Steenkamp.

He is a murderer.

This guy is dangerous, look at the history.
It was only a matter of time.

LookingThroughTheFog · 17/04/2014 22:30

Seriously, Springy? I'm reading her feed now and it's vile!

ArmchairDetective · 17/04/2014 22:37

Springy That feed is Shock. Who is she? Obsessed fan, former friend?

AmIthatSpringy · 17/04/2014 22:40

Yes Looking I totally agree about the total vileness. It is disgusting and I think comes from a place of hatred for poor Reeva, rather than support of OP. I

I was speaking about her last tweet which is clearly about the guy involved with Samantha Taylor. (I know he is a multi-millionaire TV producer).

Actually, can I rephrase my comment about "valid",( if it pleases the court, my lady). Maybe valid wasn't the right word - I am old and clearly needing my bed - but more "interesting". Not saying I believe it, just that I found it enough to make me read it again.

StampyIsMyBoyfriend · 17/04/2014 22:42

I believe her stomach contents were vegetables and cheese

AmIthatSpringy · 17/04/2014 22:46

Armchair I tend to just follow journalists on twitter, but someone I know flagged this one up to me. She appears to have several accounts all spouting the same bile

upnorthfelinefan · 17/04/2014 23:01

I completely agree with Neft the suspicion that this is like other crimes. I honestly don't believe he intended to shoot her. I also agree with ArmchairDetective in that I think maybe since he wasn't married and travelled a lot he wasn't used to sleeping with someone every night and maybe went into fight mode without thinking about anyone else until it was too late. I have also thought about the fact that the noise was in the bathroom in his bedroom. If it was an accident and he really thought there was an intruder in the house wouldn't that have made it that much more terrifying especially with him disability. I know it would have been a much better move to get out of the room but unfortunately that didn't happen.

FreeLikeABird · 17/04/2014 23:12

I thought her stomach contents was vegetables and chicken strips, well that's what OP said she cooked that night.

Nerf · 17/04/2014 23:26

Erm this vanity fair article from 2013 may have persuaded me he isn't innocent. That plus the trial so far.

Nerf · 17/04/2014 23:34

oscarpistorius.com/category/media-statements/page/3/

And this is an odd website

RonaldMcDonald · 18/04/2014 00:55

shoots dog
this bizarrely really shocked me when i read it the first time
I have posted previously

RonaldMcDonald · 18/04/2014 01:23

springy that twitter feed is vile

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 02:03

I can't keep up with you all! I've read most of the thread now, and kept up with trial.

That twitter feed is vile. I'm Shock at the dog story Sad How horrible. I hadn't heard that one before.

I will be very surprised if he doesn't spend time in jail, he has been shown, imo, to be (at the very least) totally reckless with firearms. It's just possible that he'll escape the murder charge - but I don't think the judge will look past the shooting through the door without so much as shhouting a warning/firing a warning shot.

My personal feeling is that he knew Reeva was behind that door. If the defence start bringing in recordings of him "screaming like a woman" - I think Nel will rip them apart like he did Dixon, tbh.

HowAboutNo · 18/04/2014 08:45

Just read a few of the tweets on that account. Some people are just weird.

I do think the drama surrounding OP's life before the killing (with Sam Taylor, confronting someone at a party over her etc) sounds like really immature, high school bullshit. Must be the lives of the rich and famous perhaps.

Nerf · 18/04/2014 09:03

Yes the twitter feed is weird. She seems to be some kind of jealous woman, saying Reeva wasn't model worthy or loved by OP, that her parents wanted her to date a sleb - why would you put that vile stuff out there? I'm surprised her account is allowed actually, but there's a lot of hideous stuff on the net.

LookingThroughTheFog · 18/04/2014 09:26

Something occurred to me while I was trying to go to sleep last night. Oscar's socks. When I first heard about the socks, in that he was looking for them in the dark when putting on his prosthetics, I assumed (not knowing how prosthetics worked) that they were essential, and probably went between his stump and the prosthetic.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that he was very worried about Reeva, and he had to scrabble about putting his legs on in the dark, why he then insisted on putting on his socks too?

Is it just that he can't walk on his rubber prosthetics on floor tiles? If he can't walk on the prosthetic without socks, wouldn't it be more normal for him to keep his socks on the feet?

Like I say, a lot of these questions are due to my ignorance with prosthetics.

Aventurine · 18/04/2014 09:28

I read the Vanity Fair article (long!) I'm now wondering if Pistorius's family is as wealthy as that article indicates, why Roger Dixon was the best forensic "expert" they could come up with!

HowAboutNo · 18/04/2014 09:32

Only just finished the Vanity Fair article. It painted the same picture I've had in my head all along: the man is an arrogant prick. Obviously that doesn't make him guilty of murder, but don't they say that when a man shows you who he really is, believe him? I feel sorry that Reeva was in a relationship with someone like that. I've seen it with my friends, they are strong women but they commit to men who are arseholes.

I still don't know if he's guilty or not, but the absolute CHEEK of having his own private memorial service for Reeva is just wrong. I'm not surprised her mom was offended, I would rage.

The last line of the article summed him up perfectly for me:

Pistorius and his team are not conceding anything. “I’ll survive,” Oscar was reported by the BBC as saying upon his arrest, though his family categorically denied it. “I always win.”

Nerf · 18/04/2014 09:33

I'm also interested in the hints that he might be able to influence the decisions - that Botha was removed, Bali granted, etx
