Just think, we'd be calling these fellas Heroes had they not been caught.

Makes my blood run cold.

So disappointed in our armed forces. Once again.

Didn't you mock LtEve for building a school?

If we sit back and watch without providing arms it would be a lot easier for those people.

It comes down to whether economical security is reached by bombing places and the resounding answer is no, it is not.

England got to where we are through tyrants and awful barstards ruling us without being bombed.

I think we are enriched by our sorting ourselves out, what we are basically doing is denying other countries to sort themselves out.

Then wondering why they hate us.

What I find irritating about this thread gecko is that you make unfounded and factually incorrect statements to support your opinions, someone points out the inaccuracies and corrects the error and you never even acknowledge it, you just move onto another statement that often has no grounding in fact. I'm not sure what your purpose in starting this thread was? It's not so much a debate as a one man diatribe.

Doublemuvver · 09/11/2013 21:55

As a passionate anti-war campaigner and lifelong pacifist, this story really disturbed me. The way the marine casually took another's life and laughed about it was horrific. I am sure this happens on both sides, and on many a battlefield. Also disturbed by the number of withdrawn messages, what in earth have folk been saying? Peace to you all.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 21:56

Where have I made factually incorrect statements?

We offer no ongoing medical support to the people of Afghanistan who are blown up because of our 'war'

We save their lives, if we have room and send them on their way! Kim posted an article about it.

You fucking did!

You have the audacity to say on this thread that we should help by building schools. Yet when LtEve said she had helped build a school in Iraq you mocked her!

If you read Rowan's post, Double, you'd know why there are deleted messages.

You can't bomb a country and then feel good about yourself because you built a fucking school! It's like burning someone's house down but putting some food down for the cat on the way out!

We need to stop 'fighting' for peace and actually do something productive with our money.

Doctors do abortions OP whether or not they are TA. They also use the field knowledge of army medics to heal and save lives of trauma patients worldwide. I take it you would refuse such knowledge being used on you or your children because of the way in which it has been acquired?

Now answer the point w/ reference to your POV. Because you vacillate between concrete thinking and evasion.

And again, an ignorance of what forces medics do and where they are from is in florid display. TA medics are NHS trained doctors who may well join up years after their training. The army has not trained them nor paid for any of their training. Many have been employed as doctors for years before joining the TA. Same with all other HCPs.

So how can that be incompatible? And again, if a doctor trains to save lives then using your argument how does abortion fit in? Especially with regard to your POV that this makes them unworthy of respect-the act of soldiering or being in the forces.

OMG, Geckos! How dare you accuse us of that. You know that is not true!Angry

*Evening

Right: first off, only one man has been convicted of anything. We don't want to get into trouble for contempt of court and we're guessing none of you do either, so we've deleted all posts that speculate about the guilt of any other person.*

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:01

Would you deny an organ transplant mig

Mignonette · 09/11/2013 22:02

Oh the old 'I have met Afghan people travelling'. I live in a city where I am surrounded by Afghan neighbours. Doesn't make me a self appointed mouthpiece for them.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:02

And the rest about personal attacks! Or did you casually miss that off your little ranty Iam

We don't treat injured Afghans - we do.

We rule in Afghanistan - no, we don't.

We put the Afghan government there - no, it was democratically elected, twice.

Just from the last half hour or so. There are more from earlier in the thread. People have repeatedly pointed out inaccuracies.

And being married to/part of the armed forces also doesn't make you a mouthpiece for the people of Afghanistan. What's your point?

OP posts:
Mignonette · 09/11/2013 22:04

In what context? A bit unclear as to what you mean.

Don't forget the 'army training of all army medics' Pass.

I don't believe the OP is training in the HCP's or SS's. She knows far too little about them for somebody who has claimed to be training to be one of them.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:06

Would you deny an organ transplant, it's a simple question.

IamInvisible · 09/11/2013 22:07

No-one called her a cunt though did they?

And all your attacks on the military are absolutely fine, your rants, vitriol and bile are just fine.
