Just think, we'd be calling these fellas Heroes had they not been caught.

Makes my blood run cold.

There is definitely a better way than war and we above anyone else have the resources, people and support to promote it.

Hitler did the things he did because he had a country that backed him because of massive economical unrest.

That is the key to all of this and bombing people does not make them economically sound. If it did, the First World War would have meant there was no need for the second.

Because we left Germany so economically destitute, we got hitler. The same can be said for the Taliban and for saddam.

That is the answer

It is irrelevant whether you have trained as a nurse or so it's in or out of the armed forces. When you join the armed forces you are joining an organisation that kills and destroys.

THAT is a description.
Not an answer

Mignonette · 09/11/2013 22:41

Of course there could be a proactive rather than reactive way.
Nobody on here is Pro War.
Everybody would rather jaw jaw than war war.
Nobody wants arm dealing except those that profit from it.

The anger on here is nothing to do with that but about a person w/ no ability to respond to logical questioning, who has no answers herself, who canot cope with having her own 'logic' used to prise apart her thinking and who repeats the same factually incorrect statements and beliefs from every single thread she has ever been on.
The glee and lack of empathy towards anybody who is not of her opinions is striking. The concrete thinking is striking.
The inability to learn, develop and concede when proven incorrect is a bit Hmm and is all rather Mitty IMO especially when their is such ignorance on display about areas that she should know about bearing in mind the personal information the OP has offered on previous threads about her chosen 'training'.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:42

Yes Kim, few choose to remember that Pakistan is only a problem because we created it. Or look back as far as our instalment of Israel. Or the issues surrounding what was Persia.

You cannot be pro soldiers and anti war. Perhaps if there was conscription but not without it.

OP posts:
Mignonette · 09/11/2013 22:45

No answer as of yet. No acknowledgement of the errors made and inconsistencies in application of opinion.

In that case SS is discredited. Did you not know that SW's work with members of the armed forces to assist them w/ civvy street. You need to leave your 'training' because you are supporting a profession that supports the war machine and those serving/ex serving within it.

I trust your resignation will be handed in on Monday because your anti war and anti forces convictions are so strong?

I have answered hour question and your assumptions about my personal life are laughable. You do not know what you are talking about and you are so unable to formulate an argument based upon what we are discussing that you are attempting to attack me for something you know nothjng about.

OP posts:
Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:47

We need to defend, not attack.

Lololololololololololololol.
I'd save yourself the bother Mig.

IamInvisible · 09/11/2013 22:49

What will you do if your son joins the forces Geckos?

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:49

I would cry.

OP posts:
IamInvisible · 09/11/2013 22:50

And then what?

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:51

Not following you sorry

OP posts:
Mignonette · 09/11/2013 22:53

Sorry love but you yourself said you are training as a SW in another thread. So you need to resign because you will be supporting the war machine when you work with serving and ex forces and their children and their families. and...and...and.

You have answered nothing. But I am making a leap of faith in my hope that you will refer to yourself as an ex SW trainee because I can see how principled you are and that you would never ever ever risk doing anything to support an armed force that causes such hellfire on earth or be a member of a profession that condones serving in an army via its help and support of ex members. And that includes helping them with their benefit claims, negotiating parental contact between Mr Ex soldier and his daughter and helping them get their new legs.

I need say no more. My point is made.

Floppityflop · 09/11/2013 22:53

I am disappointed with the member of our armed forces that, as an aberration, knowingly broke the Geneva Convention. The fact he knew about it and knew it was wrong means there is no more we could have done to stop this. The fact he knew about the Geneva Convention means that the job is being done to make sure our armed forces are trained on what is right and wrong in terms of the law of armed conflict.

IamInvisible · 09/11/2013 22:54

Well, you can't cry for 7,12 or however many years he signed on for.

So, he comes in says "Mum I'm joining up!" You cry, then what do you do? Would you tell not to do it, or would you say nothing?

IamInvisible · 09/11/2013 22:56

People have said the same thing previously, Mignonette. It makes not a jot of difference to her.

MrPricklepants · 09/11/2013 22:57

Who is going to do the defending then? You? I thought you actively encouraged sitting on your arse doing fuck all.
I've been deleted numerous times on this thread, I have never encountered another poster who has made me this angry before. You have been deleted and apparently emailed by MNHQ but you just carry on, carry on offending me, carry on spouting your ridiculous notions. It's okay to be passionate about something, but you need to be intelligent enough and articulate enough to persuade others to follow your view and cause.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:57

You want me to resign from... Being a student?

You are showing your ignorance, there is no such think as a 'social worker trainee'. Do a bit of research mig

As I said, it doesn't matter where you train as a doctor, the second you join the armed forces you are part of a organisation that destroys and kills.

If it's another answer you are after you will have to ask the question again.

OP posts:
MrPricklepants · 09/11/2013 22:57

Thankfully it is of my opinion that you are neither and not succeeding in your armed forces hating agenda.

Hhhmmmm not sure I'll get away with splitting my post in half so only half of it gets deleted but hey ho.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:58

Of course I would beg him not to do

(Failing to see the relevance of this)
