Just think, we'd be calling these fellas Heroes had they not been caught.

Makes my blood run cold.

So disappointed in our armed forces. Once again.

What do you think we are doing in Afghanistan? Seriously, why are we there and how are we helping anyone?

These sort of wars are pointless, dehumanising, cruel.

When we could step in and save lives - the genocide in Rwanda - we don't - we stand back and let it happen. Then we go meddling in Iraq and Afghanistan and do no good at all.

I just don't understand our foreign policy. Thank goodness for Diane Abbott! Without her, we'd be knee deep in gore in Syria.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:08

There is military rule in Afghanistan

We overthrew the system of leadership and implemented a western one. You can say that is 'the people's choice' all you want but looking a bit further says very differently.

We are training the police force, often those men shot us and then go off and kill lots of other people.

We do NOT offer ongoing medical care to those injured in our war. We save lives if we have the bed space and send them away, as Kim's article explained.

Unfortunately OP your main goal here seems to be to criticise, when you have no viable alternative. You then suggest we just sit back and leave them to it, saying it's easier on them.

I think perhaps you might find that people would be more willing to listen if you spouted less bile and offered more realistic solutions.

Until then, it just all seems a bit of overzealous and uneducated vitriol.

Mignonette · 09/11/2013 22:10

I believe in non judgemental treatment of all patients based upon clinical need and resources (ir is there a suitable organ at a suitable distance?)

Now you answer my questions that you have evaded so far. Seeing as I have bothered to answer yours. Because you very obviously ignore most of what is put to you whilst repeating the same old same old, much of it unfactual and misinterpreted. You haven't addressed your mistake re the origin and career progression of forces medics either. You got that wrong which is strongly suggestive to me that you are not what you have claimed to be-unless you are training w/ eyes wide shut or your obsession (self acknowledged) has prevented you from studying and being on placement effectively.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:11

No that's not what I said and you know it. I said a variety of things. One which was that we leave them to it in the first place without arming dickheads to the nines and then running in to 'free' everyone.

OP posts:
Doublemuvver · 09/11/2013 22:11

Who wants peace? Hands up! Yes that should be everyone. Who wants democracy? Yes, that should be most of us. Good. So how about a world where we all agree on everything? How dull would that be.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:12

So you would accept an organ transplant

So you condone all the actions of those in auchwitz then? Because that's where it comes from.

Geckos48 · 09/11/2013 22:13

I want peace!

I don't think our armed forces being us or anyone else peace

If Hitler was alive now and strutting his megalomaniac stuff let's be clear that the OP would leave him to it to sort out.

Tough luck if you are Jewish, Gay, Mentally Ill or learning disabled; black, Roma, old or an enemy of the state. But Hey-Ho. Gecko doesn't care about them. They would just be natural casualties of 'sorting it out'.

You asked me if I would deny one Gecko. You appear to have a problem with either memory or w/ note taking. Another thing to concentrate upon maybe as should you need to appear in court as part of your 'job', you'll need to be a little more specific.

NorthernLurker · 09/11/2013 22:19

As the OP has now invoked Godwin's law and de facto lost the srument how about leaving it there? I don't think this thread will be edifying reading in the morning.

Mignonette · 09/11/2013 22:20

No Gecko. You would let them perish because you do not believe in military action of any kind. i am using your argument. If another holocaust of 4-6 million people was initiated, you would do nothing and let them die. Doesn't matter if the action is initiated for another reason (land, oil)- you would let them die. There's a word for people like you.

Just to make that crystal clear.

And you have not answered my questions. Yet. Until you do I have to assume you do not have an answer. And you have not acknowledged your ignorance regarding the training of army medics or doctors in the TA.

NorthernLurker · 09/11/2013 22:20

srument? ARGUMENT that should be!

It is not unfair. She needs to talk specifics and answer the points made to her and explain the discrepancies/inaccuracies in her convictions especially as we have answered her questions.

So far she has deliberately evaded direct questions.

ThursdayLast · 09/11/2013 22:30

Not unfair at all. Merely OPs own logic being used in reply to her.
Makes sense to me.
It won't be answered

IamInvisible · 09/11/2013 22:33

It is not an unfair attack on geckos at all.

She repeatedly spews unfounded, incorrect bile about the Armed Forces and those who are serving in them. She tars every single member with the same brush. That is unfair.

Still waiting.......I imagine some furious obsessed googling is going on Wink.

ThursdayLast · 09/11/2013 22:35

LtEve seems to have given up wasting her breath. Shame, I learnt a lot from reading her posts.

ThursdayLast · 09/11/2013 22:36

I'm not convinced there's even googling going on...
