I have no reason to believe this conduct is limited to just these individuals. Yes 'worse happens in prison' but we call them criminals and contain them, we don't call them heroes and send them out into the world.

You can't blame him for killing a wounded man in a field execution? Fortunately our justice system is less forgiving of such atrocious behaviour.

Kim - he may be right, but we in the British Military are better than that. We subscribe to and follow intently the Geneva Convention. These men didn't and should pay the highest price. I condemn them with all my heart - there is NO excuse for their actions.

The members of the armed forces that I know, (including a couple of ex marines), are horrified by the actions of these men.

In the same week that we have had news coverage of afghan 'friendly' civilians shooting the soldiers who were training them and after they had taken nice pictures....... My horror lies there.
I am appalled they showed the footage of the event on the six o clock news (that I was watching with my son). Yes that marine committed a crime but that area is a pressure cooker. And that's coming from someone who's x husband is currently there working.

And it doesn't stop us doing the same kim. I only wish I didn't have to say 'us' in that sentence but the fact is, these men wear the flag of my country and they are ambassadors for me and my country. I hang my head in shame at it all I really do.

I wonder how many of our young men will lose lives (and I include those who commit murder) because of this hopeless and ridiculous occupation?

Hang your head in shame at our armed forces. Good for you. Why don't you polish your halo as well whilst you are standing there condemning them all.
