If so many people hadn't signed up to this load of manure, I would laugh to be honest, as Old Mother L Hubbard, or what ever the old knob necks name is, is basically a really shite sci-fi writer, who knows as much about newborns and parenting as I do quantum mechanics.

It says alot about the state of peoples lives if they can buy into this baloney. I can see the point in most religions, tbh, even Jehovah's Witnesses (although I wouldn't tell them that) but Scientology? Why, ffs?

hermykne · 30/03/2006 15:20

monkeytrousers · 30/03/2006 21:50

Nooo! I killed it! And i thought I was being funny! :P

lunavix · 30/03/2006 22:04

OH NO :( I let ds cuddle me all the time, and every time he's kicked me in the bump he's given it an engram? Not that I have a fucking clue what one is, nor really give a crap. but damn it's going to be one engrammed up baby... or is it bounce-specific? He's done a number of them too....

What utter fucking toddle. At the age of 17 I applied for a job working as a secretary to the church of scientology in western australia. It was confusing to say the least. They loaded me up with a good 15 books (only about 3 or 4 were written by him, the rest were about him.) and at the time I thought 'he's a SCI FI writer and he has a RELIGION????? How many sci fi geeks would love to say they had their own religion???'

Either way, he had an office there although he had already died I believe - but noone was allowed into this office bar him (but he was dead?)

I politely declined the job offer when they told me instead of wages, I'd receive all my shopping done for me. Can't even imgagine what my weekly tescos shop would look like picked by one of them.

Caligula · 30/03/2006 22:16

Gosh, the founder of a religion is a mysogynist? Imagine my surprise.

At the risk of sounding like Aloha (oh where is she now?) the difference between the nonsense that is scientology and other religious nonsense is a few centuries.

Look how much more acceptable Mormonism is now, now that it's been around for over 120 years. 50 years ago it was still a bit dodgy. The Osmonds and time changed all that. It's now considered a bit wierd, but imo Scientology will be just as acceptable in a couple of centuries, because time makes anything less... bonkers.

Callisto · 31/03/2006 09:00

I don't know about mormonism being normal Caligula - there was an article I read a while ago about how much child abuse etc is going on within the 'religion' and how unhappy the authorities are about it but there is nothing they can do to stop it. These weird cult religions always seem to be great for men and really awful for the women and children involved.

ruty · 31/03/2006 11:03

i'm not going to take the bait. I'm not going to take the bait...Grin

NotQuiteCockney · 31/03/2006 11:06

Caligula's right. Scientology isn't really that different from other religions (others have views on bf, childbirth, etc etc). Scientology's only weird because it's new.

ruty · 31/03/2006 11:21

Utter bollox. and that's all i'm saying on the matter. Grin

ruty · 31/03/2006 11:23

sorry, i am joking, not trying to be offensive. Smile

ruty · 31/03/2006 11:36

OK, I killed it! Sorry. Blush

Caligula · 31/03/2006 11:48

Oh go on ruty, take the bait Grin Wink

ruty · 31/03/2006 11:53

its like tourette's syndrome or something caligula - when it comes to religion i just can't help myself. [not trying to insult any tourette's sufferers BTW]

ruty · 31/03/2006 13:58

yep i killed it. Didn't mean to cause offence to anyone, sorry..Blush Blush
