\link{http://www.guardian.co.uk/g2/story/0,,1741763,00.html#article_continue...as Tom n Katie await their very own little l ron hubbard..}
(favourite bit: "By the way, life in the womb is not the paradise it has been presented as. Instead "the womb is wet, uncomfortable and unprotected")

Poor old Katie! Tom Cruise is such a t**t!

WigWamBam · 29/03/2006 11:23

Completely barking.

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2006 11:24

apparently her birth companions will have motivational posters to show her during the birth

JackieNo · 29/03/2006 11:26

WHat sort of posters - like the ones with daft chimps and 'you don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps'Grin?

lunarx · 29/03/2006 11:26

well what do you expect from a cult invented by a MAN?

JackieNo · 29/03/2006 11:27

Or (more appropriately) 'Today is the first day of the rest of my life'

Kathy1972 · 29/03/2006 11:28

How very insulting, my womb is lovely Smile

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2006 11:28

like this apparently

Miss Holmes can, however, turn to large "instructional" boards delivered by friends.

One reads: "Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable".

zippitippitoes · 29/03/2006 11:29

that will be two fingers then Smile

lucy5 · 29/03/2006 11:29

i hope she tells them all to Pi** off and get me some drugs!

motherinferior · 29/03/2006 11:30

Does this mean that DD1 has a permanent engram of 'I'd better make it quick, I've got a train to Brussels to catch in two hours'?

bundle · 29/03/2006 11:31
Wink

you couldn't make it up, could you?

OP posts:
colditz · 29/03/2006 11:32

I'm worried about her. I am concerned that she is not going to get the help she needs, and is going to be surrounded by people who care more about what her husband wants than what she wants while in labour.

I really would not like to be in her position.

JackieNo · 29/03/2006 11:32

Zippi - don't! YOu're making me snigger out loud, and I'm at work. People are looking at me strangely wondering if I'm upset about something Grin.

bundle · 29/03/2006 11:34

colditz, it's pure brainwashing, stockholm syndrome stuff

OP posts:
wobblyknicks · 29/03/2006 11:34

wet, uncomfortable and unprotected????? Wet is a stupid statement - did anyone think it was the sahara in there? If its uncomfortable would Mr Hubbard pay for my operation to have a settee and a minibar installed in my womb? And as for unprotected??? Well in 23 years no-one's broken in, graffitied in the middle of the night or sold hard drugs in my womb - better protection than Group 4 can boast!!!!

bundle · 29/03/2006 11:35

i think we should get one of those groups who rescues snatched children from exes to go in & get her..disguised as midwife with inspirational flipcharts..

OP posts:
madmarchhare · 29/03/2006 11:38

'Maintain silence in the presence of birth to save both the sanity of the mother and the child', ah, thats where it all started to go wrong then.

expatinscotland · 29/03/2006 11:42

hey, she's an adult, albeit a rather dim one.

if she wants to marry some weirdy stumpy fella w/big teeth and join a cult, well, you reap what you sow, eh?

oliveoil · 29/03/2006 11:44

so, me screaming 'get me a f**king epidural' would have gone down like a lead balloon then?

lunarx · 29/03/2006 11:49

exactly, expat, i dont feel bad for her in the slightest!!!

HappyMumof2 · 29/03/2006 11:51

poor cow. It's her first baby - she has no idea!!!

I could never have stayed silent during labour.

How are they going to enforce it anyway??? I also read that she's got to be seperated from the baby for days after birth - errm, why???

CarlyP · 29/03/2006 11:56

what a load of bo ll ox

edam · 29/03/2006 11:57

Feel very sorry for her - Happy's right, she has no idea how wrong this all is. Pregnant women are vulnerable enough without falling prey to mad cults that want to fuck up childbirth.

HappyMumof2 · 29/03/2006 11:58

I think TC is a nasty bit of work. I can see him turning like Michael Jackson (not quite that bad.....) and buying the kid off KH if she doesn't do things quite his way.
When they split, I reckon he will get custody. Just a feeling I have Wink
