(favourite bit: "By the way, life in the womb is not the paradise it has been presented as. Instead "the womb is wet, uncomfortable and unprotected")

PMSL at some of the posts at the beginning of this thread! But seriously, the whole thing makes me angry. The fact that smarmy shortrse TC can dictate how KH should react during labour, the fact that if medical intervention is needed and withheld it could all end badly for mum, baby or both and those stupid boards. They're really going to be a huge comfort aren' they. And now I read that mother will be separated from baby in the first few days. How f*ked is that!! Angry

Caligula · 29/03/2006 13:18

How outrageous it is that no-one in authority is telling these people that removing a child from its mother immediately after birth for a whole week, for any reason other than medical, is child abuse.

wannaBe1974 · 29/03/2006 13:19

ah but thing is, this is real, KH is not the first woman to give birth the scientology way and she certainly won't be the last.

MeAndMyBoy · 29/03/2006 13:25

Philippat that story makes my blood run cold - I know you shouldn't believe most of what you read in the papers certainly entertainment press but still if even part of it's true - she's in a real mess and has no control over what is happening.

littlemisspiggy · 29/03/2006 13:31

Blimey Philippat, just read that link. There's definitely something fishy going on there.

bubblez · 29/03/2006 13:34

maybe TC has 'little man' syndrome..... but his way of making himself feel big is controling everything around him....

personally i dont know how KH's stays with him, i dont think a part in MI3 is really worth it.....

with all the medical evidence stating that bfing is 'best for baby' and how important the 'first milk' is KH's still wants to 'give birth the sientology way'. Personaly i think that she deserves to go through the pain it'll serve her right for putting her husbands 'fad' before her baby's needs.

podkin · 29/03/2006 13:35

F-ing freeeeaaaks, the lot of 'em...

WideWebWitch · 29/03/2006 13:38

Oh a thread where we ALL agree, now there's a rare thing! It is mad, mad, mad. Any civilians (as Liz Hurley calls us) behaving the way some celeb parents do would have social services beating a path to their door. i.e. Michael Jackson's baby dangling, removal of a baby from its mother etc.

TinyGang · 29/03/2006 13:38

What happens if a little 'Ouch!' escapes? Does everyone go 'SSSHHHHHHHH!!!'

Totally mad.

Patttsy · 29/03/2006 13:42

It would be interesting to know the insiders view (so to speak).Any (ex) scientology mums on mumsnet to give us their side of the story?

littlemisspiggy · 29/03/2006 14:08

If they dare...

bundle · 29/03/2006 14:24

www i love it that you call her Liz, she hates it Wink

Bundle, I know :)

aelita · 29/03/2006 14:41

There was a picture in the media of the posters reminding Katie to keep her mouth shut being delivered the other day. They state "Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable,"
That's right, no pain-relief, total silence & 'slow and understandable' movements. I wonder if Tom would remain silent if Katie made a slow and understandable movement of placing two hands around his neck whilst in the throes of childbirth and throttling the arsehole...

bundle · 29/03/2006 14:43

hey aelita, seen \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1368&threadid=159023&stamp=060329142523\this?}

THis thread was hilarious, until I read about her not seeing the baby for 7 days - is that true? It's not in the original article.

HappyMumof2 · 29/03/2006 14:51

I definately saw it in one of the Sunday papers, Pruni Sad

ruty · 29/03/2006 14:51

my ex boyfriend once told me 'men are stupid, women are mad.' In this case the reverse is obviously true.

HappyMumof2 · 29/03/2006 14:54

I wonder if he's paid her to have this baby? or if it's actually his at all? Shock

bl0ndie · 29/03/2006 15:00

Can't wait to see how katie h gets on, but even if it all goes wrong and she has a c-section, they'll probably lie to the media saying it was all natural and lovely, blah blah

By the way what is the 'reason' for separating mum and baby at birth?

Pruni · 29/03/2006 15:01

I just find it really really distressing.
I think it would have traumatised me, tbh. Very seriously.

CatBert · 29/03/2006 15:03

I've said it before, but I'll say it again...

Nice rough string around TCs bollocks that she can give a good pull on whenever she's in pain (something postive on which to concentrate her mind) and see if HE can keep quiet and make his movements slow and understandable during that...

Let them suffer in silence together. There will be uproar of the highest order if anything happens to that baby...

ruty · 29/03/2006 15:05

that's great CatBert. Agree wholeheartedly.

ruty · 29/03/2006 15:05

i wonder if John Travolta's wife had to go through childbirth like this?

bundle · 29/03/2006 15:06

hey girls, this is the man who said that vitamins should be used over anti depressants for PND...
