November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

Hello and welcom mamadim, just marking my spot for later

vastingavay · 01/11/2009 10:57

Morning, thanks for the thread Always, good grief it's November and welcome madamim!

Hope everyone had Halloween fun! The kids party was a nightmare, though DS looked adorable in his pumpkin outfit, but Me and DH had fun at our friends last night. Wii, buffet and booze! I didn't have much, good as DS woke twice last night. DH had rather a sore head this morning though.

Today

  • DS boobed, changed and dressed done
  • breakfast done
  • fold washing some
  • lounge about drinking coffee doing
  • Me showered and dressed
  • lunch
  • tidy up a bit
  • tea
  • DS bath and bed

Julezboo · 01/11/2009 11:23

Good morning all.

I did join in a few weeks ago but work life took over.

I lost my job last week though so will be a full time slattern now.

No lists today though Monday is my first day as a SAHM so will be list making then!

scaryclaireyboo · 01/11/2009 11:39

Just marking my spot.

Welcome madamim.

Sorry about your job Julez

Not much housework going on here today, am making chrstmas candles as have a sale on the 17th. Or is it the 10th?

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 01/11/2009 12:19

Excellent, a new thread in time for my first week as full time mum of 2. DH goes back to work on Monday (eeeek! ).

DS (age 3) is being unbearable at the moment. God knows how I am going to get him back in a routine with DD (2 weeks old) in tow.

He currently won't get dressed, eat his dinner, tidy up or do anything we ask. Any ideas let me know! He is obsessed with his Dad too. Am pretty worn out and can't think of new cajoling options. His behaviour is probably lots to do with the arrival of DD.

Today
Sort washing
Tidy up
Dishy on
Pack DS's bag for tomorrow
Dinner
Bath DS/DD

List for tomorrow
DS up and dressed
Feed DD
Breakfast
DS to nursery
Washing on
Dishy on
Go to town to find some clothes that fit (still in tracky bottoms!)

Plus lots of other stuff - brain not working.

JustBeBuffy · 01/11/2009 14:12

in Guy Fawkes name

My friend hada similar thing when dc2 arrived HMHB, she said it passed by itself but took a while. I remember her making a big effort not to say things like "shh the baby's sleeping" or "Hurry up we need to go before the baby wakes up" etc to avoid putting any negative connotation on the baby iyswim
