November Slatterns/Listmakers - one year on and still taking baby steps.........

1000 replies

alwayslookingforanswers · 31/10/2009 23:39

Yes - Slatterns (now Slatterns and Listmakers) is now a year old.

Come and join us if you're a slattern, or simply like making lists for jobs you want to get done each day/week/month.

Never thought 12 months ago that a thread I started to help me get the bare minimum done at home when I was feeling shite would still be going strong 12 months later - even with me frequently AWOL in recent months.

Everyone is welcome, we're a friendly bunch.

I have also been into my old work & they want me to go back in for 7 days to fulfill 1 month notice period so I don't have to pay back maternity pay above SMP. Hello all - can I join you nice people?

I am dreadful at getting anything done and make regular lists but never actually DO much of my tasks. Am very lucky as have cleaners (yes 2! ) so house is generally clean but it is very big and gets very messy and we have a very hairy dog! Currently have DS off school with 'tummy ache' - he is currently sulking as I have banned playstation and computer if he is 'sick' and he says there is nothing on TV. Tough!

Anyway my list for today:

Put away washing on radiator - done
Wash pots by sink - done
Do washing -
Take down drying washing from yesterday - done
Walk dog
Brush dog
"Frontline" dog
Get my car from outside friend's house (left it there yesterday as was persuaded to have some champagne!
Start file for new house purchase
Start file for new house plans
Do list for surveyor
Load charity bags into DH's car
Do shopping list for Xmas cakes
Text babysitter
Text vet
Text dog trainer

Tomorrow/Ongoing:
(This list will be added to!)

Take down Halloween decs
Sort rest of charity stuff
Sort books for second hand book stall at school
Tidy clothes on landing
Move DS's lego downstairs
Tidy desk
Build new flatpack file thingie
Tidy/clear bookshelves in study
Do Xmas list

Hoping that doing this will mean I actually achieve things every day instead of just whiling my life away on here!

claireyBANG · 02/11/2009 09:46

Hi Buda, you are welcome to join, especially if you lend me your cleaner for a few days

wastingaway · 02/11/2009 10:01

Morning all!

Glad you had a good time Ali! Well done on the unpacking, making a start makes such a difference.

Musty washing is the pits Sparkly, I had my fill during the washing-machine-less six weeks.
Good luck!

Plum, not sure what your appeal is for, but best of luck with it.
I can't remember before if I asked about Norks masterplan? Did she join when I was away?

Right, I need to crack on, there is still a lot of mess left over from the move (3 weeks ago ) and I've nappies to wash.
