Calling all fledglings, newbies and lurkers to the September FlyLady thread! Join us as we try to sometimes rather loosely follow FlyLady’s routines to steer us gradually towards clean and tidy homes and organised lives, with lots of nattering and support along the way.

The more the merrier, so please feel welcome to join. I’ll post daily links to try to keep us on track, and I’ll explain the system as we go if we have any newbies. If there’s anything you’re not sure about please ask. The website is here but be wary of signing up to the emails. There are lots.

Thanks to our lovely Sing for keeping us flapping through August, you did a grand job.

The naughty corner is fully stocked for anyone needing a little respite. I am already keeping it warm for everyone today and I’m not even sorry

Remember, you are never behind, just jump in where you are. Let’s do this Fledglings!

Ha ha, jumping in! Thanks Sing for an Amazing August, looking forward to a Super September with you, Up.

SingToTheSky · 29/08/2021 16:03

Signing in, thank you up! Feels like a treat to be knocking off early from August 😁 and it is bank holiday of course.

I certainly do hope to be calmly soaring in September 🤔 speaking of which one of DD1’s friends commented this morning how calm our house was?! She’s not the first friend to mention that.

I think we are just laid back and possibly a bit lazy. 🤣

Anyway. Wow, nearly September! Just over a week left till the start of term, but it’s a very busy week for us not least due to DS turning 12 tomorrow. Happily we’ve got a lot of the back to school stuff done, but still need to figure stuff out with home ed - resources are ready, a schedule is not. And the first couple of weeks we will still be decorating too!

HazelNuttyElf · 29/08/2021 17:06

Thank you for running the August thread Sing
And thank you Up for starting the September thread.
August has gone so quickly, and for some reason it's not been as hot as usual here, although June and July were unusually hot for extended periods of time. I'm excited to put my autumn decorations out in my new house, and plan on doing that on Tuesday. DS birthday is also coming up next weekend and have nothing planned yet, I may be starting to freak out a little.

halfhope · 29/08/2021 17:10

Thank you kindly for a superlative August Thread Sing and thanks for stepping up for September Still.

Did you know that in Ireland, Autumn is considered to be August, September, October following the Celtic calendar whereas here in Scotland (and rest of UK) it's September, October, November.

HazelNuttyElf · 29/08/2021 17:24

Oooh, in that case I'm late decorating for autumn and best get on with it 😂🤩

I do have painting to get on with, as well as grocery shopping and doing any meal prep. My mum should be skyping me at some point today too. I think I might start with my 2nd cup of coffee though as I need to be prepared for the day 🤣

HillsBesideTheSea · 29/08/2021 17:25

UP was it you who wanted info on coast tollerant plants? Gardeners question time thingie (2pm radio 4 sunday) had a whole program on it. You could probably catch up on the app thingy majigg

Vikings only had 2 seasons. Summer and winter. From what i have experienced that is pretty true. Their spring is later than ours and their winter happens sooner.

ExtremelyDisorganised · 29/08/2021 17:48

Thank you Up and thank you Sing for August Flowers

Stilllivinginazoo · 29/08/2021 18:29

2hr break before evening do .more photos for bride and groom
Dd1 dad for the off was full of so glad you came, don't wander off without saying goodbye.as the drinks flowed he kept checking we hadn't sneaked off 🤣we had a bolt hole room to escape to if got too much.dd2 hid out there and had epic meltdown as reflux was bad and anxious about eating.i stayed with her then went to meet a friend in the lobby who was coming for the evening event and zoolets prowled the grounds taking photos.ds did some classy ones thinking he looked rather James bond like in his tux and now tie🤣🥰
He freaked out at noise of the disco,so fled to the car.said thanks for coming.proud of you all.dont be strangers.then we walk back to the car at sunset and came home💖

IWillWashTheGreenWillow · 29/08/2021 18:32

Beautiful pictures zoo I love the colour of the dresses 😍 out sounds like it was a perfect day for all and well worth the wait!

I have done a load of f**k all but sit on the couch, although I did order decorations for DS birthday party, along with a gift and the shoe storage that was in the cart on Amazon. I really must get painting now 🤦‍♀️
