Swish through September 2019 with the fledglings - Flylady thread

Let's swish and swipe our way through September, decluttering as we go with the Flylady! We have a mix of old and new fledglings and everyone is welcome to join us for chat and motivation. Thanks to Stressy for running a fabulous August thread!

The Flylady Launch Pad is the place to start each day - each week focuses on a different zone of the house to clean if you have decluttered it first (can't clean clutter) and you can also follow the Babysteps if you'd like to introduce one new element each day and build on that.

If you like to plan in advance, the weekly Sneak Peek will give you advance notice of the missions and zone coming up, it changes each weekend.

The monthly focus for September is making the bed.

Chic just how I feel! Re the kitten.

Tidy how you coping now. Don’t forget to carve out a little bit of time for yourself as you have had a sad and stressful time.

Glad to hear all the fledglings have settled in ok. I am absolutely exhausted and there is no way I could manage full time school now. I have done a full week bar an early finish Friday when I thought I would start the washing / tidying up. I fell asleep with cup of tea. Put it down and slept nearly two hours. I went to bed early and slept till 8:30 bar two toilet breaks. Feel so physically tired I ache.

First morning back was a parent shouting at me. Lovely start to the week. It has been better in class than I expected but the usual ones sticking theirs heads above the parapet. New Headteacher is lovely and values her staff. Last years Reception were all showing me their new shoes while lined up for toilet and hand washing before lunch ahhh!

Need to get up and get started. Washing and tidy boudoir.
Wash kitchen floor and vacuum. S&S bathroom.

Gives I’ves Baby a gentle prod.

Welcome newbies.

Waves to everyone.
Zoo chocolate banana bread recipe please. Have you tried toasted banana bread? One of the cafes does it oh my goodness it is divine. I have sauce ,bacon and egg in the fridge. Not sure if I can be bothered making it.

Bowerbird5 · 07/09/2019 09:26

Lisette don’t envy you. We move several classrooms every year. We have one left over his year and most of the stuff is still in it. Need to transfer some to a newbies classroom but not had much time.

Lisette1940 · 07/09/2019 12:49

Unfortunately it's involved moving buildings twice! I can't find anything and 'normal' work is suffering. Not flying much either!

Am reading Organised Mum's new book. I really like it.

Bowerbird5 · 07/09/2019 14:29

Oh no Lisette that is even worse. We have had to move floors and I had to move some stuff to a building across the playground but not a whole classroom. We have had to move from one end of school to another and there seems to be about three to four every year. This take a bit of organising as we do it on the last few days of school. Year 6 are very helpful. Twice we had to put the whole school into the hall for painting then they didn’t get it all done 😤🤬👹 it was all sectioned off with tape next to each other as our hall isn’t all that big.

We are all settled in now until half term. Then it starts again as some rooms didn’t get painted again.🙄

Ta da
Third load of washing on
Put some clothes away
Made lovely cooked breakfast. Had it in summer house. Cat was stretched right out in the sunshine. Yes, we have sunshine!

Just stopped for a cup of tea.
Completed half a Sudoku and more than half a cross word.

Need to tidy and dust boudoir and vacuum. Put shoes away. X3 pairs.
Do “ night stand” find that weird.

Pile of ironing gathering, will do tonight.

Loving the quiet! No kids. I can hear neighbours a bit. Think he was killing his sister earlier. She can hold her own and will be bigger than him soon so he’ll have to watch out. Pop back later.

ChicCroissant · 07/09/2019 16:42

Obviously hit preview before and not post Blush

Hello fledglings! Turned into a gloriously sunny afternoon here, I am hoping that DD wants something from the golden arches shortly so I can have a coffee!

Bower I hope the new head makes a difference, I know you could do with a few improvements in the school - let's hope it is the start of the turnaround.

Lisette I am watching the book on Kindle and hoping it goes on sale! All my Android items can't use the app she has out now! Keep us updated on the book.

Sympathies with work moves!

Well today has been ok in itself but DD2 is poorly (nothing serious, just a cough) so have had to cancel a grandparent visit and we have a ballet / gymnastics clash with a thing for DD1 which I don’t know how to resolve. Ugh.

On the plus side we have eaten tea, just need to get dishwasher etc done. Then perhaps quick play outside and bathrike etc before Strictly Glitterball.

ChicCroissant · 07/09/2019 23:34

Sorry to hear that DD2 is poorly Stressy, hope you can sort the diary clash out! We watched Strictly too.

Sunday links - Launch Pad and Babystep about starting your Control Journal by writing down the morning and evening routines.

Sleep well fledglings, catch you tomorrow morning.

Stressy anyone else going that you could ask? I never minded taking a child when clashes were on.

Ta das yesterday
Three loads of washing done
Tidied half of boudoir
Vacuumed boudoir, stairs, hall, sitting room and dining room.
Tidied kitchen after making a mess cooking.
Dishwasher loaded and washed up the rest.

Not bad considering I was so tired. Also read pages of planning for school as I start teaching on Monday. Will need to prep lots so no lunch. 😧

Out on a visit with church today. Lunch and a service at another church bus ride to it. Just remembered I need to get some money out to pay for bus and lunch.

What lovely news!! Beautiful squidy newborn. I hope you are able to get some rest I've. I'm delighted for you and your family. Xx

Lisette1940 · 08/09/2019 12:10

I have the Kindle book of Organised Mum - it's £7.99, I think. App should work on Android.

I like Gemma and aspects of TOMM are easier for me than flylady. And I like the music.

TooStressyTooMessy · 08/09/2019 21:08

DD2 much better today thank you zoo, will remember jelly tip though. Bower, unfortunately the clash is that DD1 might need to be in two places at the same time which of course is not possible! Going to press ahead with plans for both in the hope she can do both. They are not team events so she won’t be letting anyone else down if she has to pull out of one but she will be disappointed.

Bowerbird5 · 08/09/2019 21:54

Morning fledglings! Happy Monday!

Second load of laundry on now, trying to limit myself to two loads a day to make sure it all gets done and hung out - I've done two lots of shirts this morning, so may do another load that does not require ironing.

Need to food shop and pay bills today, owe about three different companies for expensive after school stuff restarting now Hmm Just eyewatering when you see it all together, so need to remember that when keeping up with my jobsearch!

IVE hope you and the newest member of the IVE family are doing well.

Catch you later ladies.

.

Hi everyone. Well and truly back to school now. Tonight is the first school day with DD1’s gymnastics at the new time so hopefully that will be ok. I deliberately last week has us eat at a similar time to when we would need to on a school night so at least have an idea of timings. It’s just going to be a case of pasta tea eaten as soon as possible after getting back from school then getting ready to go straight away. Am hopeful of getting the dishwasher on before we leave for gym though as it will be miserable otherwise.

Ta da:-
Made phone calls about a day out we have planned - so much easier now I have spoken to actual humans rather than the online system.
Physio exercises although still have a few to do later. Just realised could attempt some at gymnastics (the less embarrassing ones!).

To do.-
Look at DD1’s birthday invitations with a cup of tea
School pick up etc

Big waves to all. Thanks for links Chic. Good luck panic cleaning zoo.
